Dr. Vincent is hands down the most fantastic doctor I have ever had. She really takes time to sit down and talk to you because she genuinely cares about your wellbeing. Very few physicians nowadays are like Dr. Vincent. I know that many people get anxious when they’re at their doctor’s appointment (I used to work for a doc) — this probably won’t happen if you are seeing Dr. Vincent because she passes on no judgement whatsoever and does a wonderful job relating to and communicating with her patients. She should be the face of «patient-​centered care», a practice modern healthcare strives to achieve. She also takes a multifaceted approach to problem-​solving in that she thinks about all the various possibilities that will help with the issue at hand. Dr. Vincent is truly a hardworking, quality physician.

Their billing is an accounting system with no customer visibility. Due to their billing system deficiencies, payments on doctor visits can be matched to either past or future services making it extremely difficult to know where you stand on your bills.

Horrible customer service, don’t wait for a call back you literally need to stalk your dr. It took 3 business days (with a weekend between) to get ahold of my dr, and it was from me calling back. They lied and said they called twice, but it’s funny how I had no missed calls or vm. The office manager even lied about multiple things. Do yourself a favor and go to a real dr office. Unless you like wasting your time and like being lied to. Oh and $ 2 to park, nice touch.

PROS: Well-​timed appointments, minimal paperwork for returning patients, on-​site lab.
CONS: Limited availabilities, $ 2 valet or street parking, slow to return lab results.
*If I could, I’d give this place 3.5÷5 stars.

I’m an established patient here, so there really aren’t too many complaints. My insurance is in-​network and I love my primary care physician, Dr. Benjamin Johnson. He is knowledgeable and patient with me when I bombard him with questions, to which he’s even printed out more pamphlets for me.
As for the rest of the office, there is usually very little wait when you make an appointment. There are clearly marked check-​in and check-​out desks that are staffed by friendly faces. I’ve always been seen on time and the paperwork is very minimal if you have no changes to your personal information. The most I’ve waited was 10 minutes with an appointment, but the hardest part is making one. It seems as if you need to call AT LEAST three weeks in advance to have any real availabilities.
My only real complaint is that the office is slow with calling back/​mailing lab results. I’ve never had anything nerve racking that I had to know right away but my last lab results never came and I had to call in and ask for them to check and call me back. It seemed rather unprofessional because I waited almost three weeks until I gave up on waiting and just called them to see what had happened to my lab results.
If you can find parking or wouldn’t mind paying a couple bucks for valet, this definitely isn’t a bad office for annual check ups and the occasional illness. With a CVS Pharmacy in the same plaza, it’s not a bad choice for when you are short on time but still want to take care of yourself!

The doctors and facilities at this place are good (both the stars are for them). But, other than that everything else is horrible. I have visited here mainly for primary care, x-​ray and physiotherapy exercises.
Parking: There is hardly any parking available, you will have to pay at least 5 $ every time you visit the place and park.
Billing and Payment: The billing department is very pathetic. They have highly arrogant representatives who are least helpful and will not listen. I am still trying to get my money back for a service that was used an year ago. Firstly they filed the claim wrongly (as outside service provider). I had to call them to get that fixed and at that time they said they were moving to a new billing system. The error was mainly because they moved to this new system. Then they corrected it and refiled again with United Healthcare (which is another sloppy insurance company). United took 3 – 4 months to process the claim correctly but in the mean time UCSD sent me the medical bill for service. I paid them the medical bill and United updated claim (what a timing!). Now they sent me a bill for 20 $ co-​pay for a service I already paid for. Their billing department will make your life harder for sure.
P. S. Please make sure you look for reviews before you visit a doctor. Many doctors are inexperienced and are doing their residency.

I was very happy with the doctor I saw here, but the more I have to deal with anyone at a desk the more aggravated I become and the more I want to find a new doctor’s office.
My doctor left the hospital –Quit? Fired? I don’t know. And no one let me know when he left. I’d been trying to get in touch with him to get a referral for a specialist for two weeks before anybody told me he was «no longer with UCSD.» Thanks, guys. Not super thrilled about trying a new doctor in their system.

Chose a doctor with good ratings and reviews. Gotta do your research for the medical professional who will be caring for you!
This location is horrible to get to. It’s behind the expensive Mobil gas station. And parking here is representative of student parking at UCSD… non-​existent. You have to valet your car because they have limited spaces. The valet guy let me slide because it was the end of the day for him and there were plenty of spots for me to choose from.

I have private insurance PPO, and can go anywhere, having tried others in SD, I decided to try here. However, the process to see a doctor was so cumbersome and archaic, it made any complaints I had about Scripps and Sharp totally invalid. Compared to my earlier reviews of those entities for primary care, I would say that this front desk process was exceedingly slow, and even problematic for the staff who stated how frustrated she was with UCSD multiple step system processes required to get a patient entered. I felt bad for her. Then the lab staff totally looked disinterested and acted like I disturbed them just to get a urine test. The final star reductions came when I went to place my urine sample in the metal cabinet for samples and there were other patients urine waiting for the lab techs to open their side of the door and collect. Omg, disgusting. The doctors are great and got all the stars to save this place from a zero.

Do not go to this hospital. They will charge you for services you don’t actually end up needing. Initial tests turned out to be false positives and the follow up tests I had to go in for because of this weren’t covered by insurance. Thanks for the $ 2.000 bill. I’m going somewhere else next time. Those slimy doctors aren’t getting more of my money.

Dr. Tina Bronner MD is a terrific doctor at this practice.
and as a physician she always handles each visit very thorough.
She is very knowledgeable, has great advice and truly cares about each patient.

I transferred to UCSD Internal medicine mostly because my parents both go there and I couldn’t go to my pediatrician anymore. Sad to say, Scripps is WAY BETTER than UCSD. At UCSD the staff are rude, the nurses are rude, and they are extremely difficult to work with. I needed a prescription refilled and it took them two and a half weeks to send it. I asked them for a copy of the prescription and it took them a week and a half to call me back.
The parking is terrible and the service is terrible. I wouldn’t recommend this practice to anyone. Every time I call I have had a terrible experience.
Don’t make the mistake! Go somewhere else, unless you enjoy being talked down to or rude customer service.

The valet parking is a boon during the busy hours and since it’s a flat fee, you don’t have to watch the clock.
Waits are very short so be sure to arrive early.
Calling the office is quite straightforward and UCSD has set up a system where if you wait on hold for a while, you can leave a callback number and hang up.
Since I have only seen Dr. Cassetta, I can only comment on her. She was very patient with me and my long list of problems. She was even willing to set up a second long appointment when I ran out of time during the first one. So far, she has only suggested lab tests/​procedures/​etc. when necessary and, based on what I’ve read after my appointments, she is very up to date. She shows a willingness to try cheap and easy solutions/​tests before resorting to costlier measures even if they would be profitable for UCSD.
Although she can be a little abrupt, you can be sure that you’ll get an answer of some sort even if only to indicate that she isn’t sure.
If you see a UCSD doctor, be ready to take notes, as the Epic electronic medical records system is rather limiting and it’s obviously impossible to type up everything that is said during an appointment. UCSD pays for Up-​To-​Date so you can ask for a printout with information about your condition.
The lab in the office is run very efficiently and results come back promptly. They can be seen through MyUCSDChart, which is a website application. As usual, to save lots of money, use an outside lab company like Quest or Labcorp.
Cash prices are average to slightly below average according to the New York Times and personal experience. If you have insurance, be sure to get the price estimate from your insurance carrier as UCSD will only tell you their cash price.

They do charge for parking which is a rip off & should be included in the copay but I guess if you want the best you gotta pay to play. It’s only $ 2 but I bet that adds up at the end of the day & pays for a new science building by the end of the year

I had a terrible experience here. Everyone should know, first off, that you cannot park here. Parking is by valet only and costs money. Also, that means that there will be a person touching the inside of your car who has touched the wheel, knobs, etc. in sick people’s cars and might transmit something to you– YUCK. The front desk people were absolutely the rudest I have ever encountered. They had zero interest in helping me, and the exam rooms are tiny beyond belief. I asked the doctor to fill out certain paperwork for me and she said that she had never heard of the form. I called later that day and they said that they did have it after all. I drove all the way back to get the signed form and the doctor had left to go to another facility– ARGH! It was a total hassle to change my medical provider, but it was totally worth it– this place was supremely ridiculous.

As a UCSD grad student opting out of student health, I was able to have my annual physical done here, covered with my dad’s Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. I think some of the doctors at this practice have long wait lists, but I was able to schedule an appointment within the next week. Dr. Farber was great, very nice and helpful. He also helped me with some forms I needed filled out for school. Everyone here was very organized – I was referred to Thornton for some special labs that they weren’t able to do on site, but everything was done very efficiently. I will be returning here for general health needs and I highly recommend it! There are around 15 physicians at this practice and they accept a long list of insurances.
