A very good small Mexican restaurant. Nothing outstanding but good solid Tex-Mex. Always enjoy their crispy taco, cheese enchilada and refried beans(A+). Friendly personal service. Fair prices.

Good hole in the wall mexican restaurant across the street from the police station. Lunch buffet($ 8.75) had beef tacos, cheese enchiladas, carne guisada and stuffed bell peppers, rice and beans. A side table has cold items: pico, sour cream, cheese and pickled jalapenos. The best item was easily the guisada. This is a pretty good deal since menu items range between nearly $ 6 and 10, for lunch. They also have fajita and enchilada buffet on Thursday nights. The interior of the restaurant has a dark cave like feel, with decent atmosphere and reminds me of Terraza in the older part of Texas City.

I have to avow that Benito’s is absolutely, hands down the best family owned and operated Mexican restaurant in this neck of the woods. I have deprived myself of their palate tickling morsels for tooooo long! Hubby and I went for the AYCE enchiladas and fajitas buffet tonight. WOW!!! every item tasted as good or better than the last time we went there. HOMEMADEFRESHFLOURTORTILLAS. Retried beans, hot off the grill beef and chicken fajitas… Menu for buffet is limited in variety, but not quality, quanity, or freshness.

Working in the area and checked Unilocal for a good local place to eat. Found Benito’s and what a good find. At first a little hesitant as there weren’t many patrons during the time we were there, but once inside the gentleman that waited on us was super nice & quick. He told us that the restaurant had been there since 1968, family owned, and that everything was made fresh. no canned or frozen. I must say it was the best Mexican food that I’ve had in quite sometime. Delicious, super fresh, not greasy. Needless to say, next time we are in the area I am already looking forward to going back!
