«Get Centered Clay Studio» is an amazing place. Owned and operated by working artists, the team here offers classes, studio memberships(for other working artists), and so much more. I walked in over a year ago not knowing anything at all about working with clay, and I was introduced to working with it by patient instructors and now have a blast(possibly an addiction) to improving my skills– all while having an amazing time. I recommend you go check it out! Such a variety of talented individuals working to create new work all of the time!

This studio is THE place to go if you want to learn how to do pottery, or if you’re looking for that perfect plate, vase, or sculpture for your home. The owners are SUPER friendly and VERY knowledgeable. There is a gallery in front with some really amazing ceramic art, and the studio area is so large you can fit an entire school class in there. All supplies are on hand, and it is just an amazing place to go. It is also the only place in La Mesa that you can do raku firing!

This studio rocks! The instructors and classes are fun and they make learning easy. The equipment works great and will help you expand your art work and your imagination. The owners are so sweet and encouraging that you can not help but enjoy the talent you have or develop. I would encourage anyone who wants to work with mud in a professional setting with knowledgeable clientele to join this studio. The workspace is wonderful and reasonable in price. I used this studio for six months and learned so much that I made a great home studio. I miss working and learning there now, but my time limits have stopped that availability. Loved this place so much.

Get Centered Clay Studio has been an amazing experience for me, I came into this studio looking for a hobby that I could connect with and I absolutely have. I started with very little throwing or building experience but Elly took my class under her wing and taught us so many helpful skills and tricks. Throughout an 8 week course I was able to complete 5 bowls, 2 mugs and 2 small containers with lids(some students finished even more than that). The glazing process was amazing, my class had so many options of glaze it was insane! I’m going to continue coming to Get Centered for more classes. The staff is amazing and extremely knowledgable, the studio is so roomy and comfortable. I really feel apart of a community, thank you so much Elly.

This place is fantastic! The owner is wonderfully helpful and very nice, always offering help and guidance even though I’ve only ever been for open studio time and not classes, and I’m a beginner. They have clay and glazes available for purchase and a plethora of supplies to use free of charge. All firing happens on-site so pieces are easy to pick up once finished. And the prices are the best in San Diego for firing and studio time. I haven’t attended any classes, but I know they do offer them. And they hold workshops with guest artists to teach new and different techniques to the public. It’s really a wonderful place for people of all skill levels :)

This place is fun! We came here with a group of about 20 for our part of our Company Christmas Party. In the hour we were there, we got to get dirty and play with clay. It gave us all a good idea of what the hobby entails. Even though none of us in the group had worked with clay before, we all ended up with a great creation that we designed and made ourselves. The ladies that own the studio are very sweet and were very helpful. They gave us good ideas and tips for making our projects better. And they were patient with us even though, I’m sure, we were SO beneath their talents and abilities. It was really fun. The youngest member of our group was 5 and had just as good a time as the rest of us. I recommend this place. :)
