$ 7 for fresh seafood ceviche! Yes please! Mariskoas Mi Playita is a vendor that comes to Solana beach farmer’s market on Sundays. Every time we visit the market, their ceviche is a must have on our list. You can get all fish or a mixed ceviches, both are excellent! I’ve also tried their grilled fish tacos and shrimp quesadilla, which are delicious and flavorful. There is always a line at their tent, which means that pople love it and keep coming back, just like we do!

We had the Ceviche and it was very very good. A «to-go» order of a huge container of Shrimp and Fish Ceviche(like a large tub of plain yogurt) runs you $ 11. It’s packed nicely in a plastic tub and accompanied with freshly fried corn tortillas. This would make a great appetizer to bring to a party! The shrimp they use is medium sized and the fish is firm and fresh. The ceviche is perfectly balanced. It has the standard lime/lemon to essentially cook the fish, as well as the tomato/onion/cilantro. Their version adds cucumber which gives it a nice firm texture of a bite. Definitely would buy again if I come across this vendor.

december nights festival in balboa park! parking was madness so we doubled up on bikes(me on the back doing a prayer) and marched right up to mariskos food stand not to be confused with mariscos. they only had a couple of items available. fish tacos or the seafood tostada. i went with option 2 which was the more popular choice. they gave you 3 pieces of tostadas and loaded up the plate with seafood ceviche. $ 7 bones was what i had expected out of the usual festival pricing but it was light and tasty. definitely shareable as we cruised through the rest of the night.

I ran into this food vendor at the La Mesa Farmer’s Market, although they are at other farmer’s markets around San Diego including Otay Ranch, Ocean Beach, Oceanside, Poway, and Solana Beach. There are in La Mesa on Friday’s 2PM to 6PM. I had one grilled fish taco for a snack at $ 3.50.( ) The fish taco was refreshingly good. The fish was light and delicate. The peppers were al-dente and had great flavor.( ) The red pepper cream was mild and the red salsa was not hot enough in my opinion. Correct that; it was not hot at all. The corn tortilla was warm and was grilled up with a touch of oil which made it moist and hiked up the texture of the tortilla. The taco was a little pricey, but they also have battered fried fish tacos for $ 2.50. The service was enthusiastic to say the least. They focus and sending shout outs to each other to keep things rolling because they were quite busy. Overall good grilled fish taco. I am settling for 3.5 stars. Give me some spice baby! PS. I believed they are affiliated with Cocteleria Mi Playa in Clairemont, but one of the employees there explained that they were, but it was a separate and more like a street vendor version of the business.
