Subway

Had a lady named Ivy make my sandwich today. This lady deserves a shout out. She was very upbeat and has an awesome personality.

I’m not a big Subway fan but every so often I end up coming here with my husband or with a friend, either because the other person suggested it or because we had a killer coupon. I can’t say the sandwiches are bad but they certainly don’t measure up to any one of the independent delis in the area. If you’re looking for a cheap sandwich that’s fast and you get all the choices you want them this place is fine. I’ve never gotten bad service here either. Some of their sandwiches are better than others. The ones that aren’t that great taste like they have the kind of thin sliced, processed deli meats that you would buy for $ 0.59 a package at your local grocery store. I do like the way you can customize your sandwich, including asking them to toast the bread before they put the ingredients in. And don’t believe I’ve ever had any tummy issues from eating here, so that’s a plus. I’m sure I’ll be back once in a blue moon.

Terrible service at this Subway. The sandwich makers are just plain rude and condescending. They rival Subway staff members of busy airports. The guy behind me got an even bigger serving of «attitude» than our family. Will never visit again.

Service with a smile! Very courteous and friendly! Although this is my first review here, I’ve been here several times. The sandwiches are made with care and not thrown together, and the ingredients are fresh. The place is always clean and smells like fresh baked bread. I love the idea of watching while my food is being prepared. I’m just saying…

I just went into this subway to ask for a glass of water. He said «NO we don’t have any cups» I explained «I have some pills to take and showed them to him» he said «nope sorry can’t help you, you need to buy something from us to h t a cup» I will never be coming back here again. It’s a little water and a cup .I would appreciate it if the management would contact me. Thanks

This is my favorite subway! John the manager is always so up beat and makes a perfect sandwich. You won’t be disappointed:-)

I’ve never posted a review on Unilocal and most of my life I just figured «oh well, and move on» if I had a bad experience. So here is my first one.
I travel a lot for work and when I found out Subway started doing breakfast I jumped for joy. It is hard to find something somewhat healthy, quick, and a good deal. I visit a subway at least 4 times a week for breakfast in National City, Escondido, Chula Vista, and La Mesa for the past year.
This subway I visit every Saturday morning for a 6 inch with egg white and apple juice. For over a year it has come to $ 3.89. Today it came to $ 5.93. I asked the very nice gentlemen Jose and he didn’t know so he asked some rude girl named Kelly. I just wanted to know why the price increase. I’m perfectly fine paying for more but the increase was not listed on the menu and the very rude girl Kelley could not tell me why. Yes, I know the apple juice bottle I chose is more expensive than the fountain drink and the coffee but it has been a year at 4 different locations with that same amount. After going back and forth she said I’m not going to get in trouble so I finally said never mind and walked away. Worst customer service I have ever received from a subway. Jose was great but Kelley was rude!!! I know some of these locations are franchised and I do a lot of Subway catering for my company. I guess you just lost my personal and professional business.

I’m giving this subway a ⁵⁄₅ because the day time staff during the week is so friendly and I swear the sandwiches are the best, freshest sandwiches I’ve ever had from a subway. Their bread in particular (Italian bread!) is REALLY good. however I’ve found the people who work at night to be a little less than friendly. They’re slow, hold up customers when there’s a long line, seem to talk to people and joke around moving at snails pace and seem to not care at all to the point I feel uncomfortable. It’s not that difficult to put a smile on for a little bit and pretend you remotely care! That aside, food is the best I’ve had at a subway and love the day time staff. Go on a lunch break during work I guess! Lol

Man! Talk about terrible customer service. This tops the list. The blonde named Savanna or however she spelled it was terribly rude. Rolling her eyes at every little thing. I was polite the whole time saying «no thank» «yes please» and all I get is this uppity teenage girl attitude. Clearly someone didn’t like their job. Whoever the burette was working with her… none better.
The only saving grace is John/​Jack. This guy is better than what he is working for. I hope he goes on to bigger and better things.

my friends and I all got very bad food poisoning from this location, and when I called the store and spoke to the manager she told me that that wasn’t even a possibility because they have meat thermometers and hung up.
I’ve never experienced such disregard for the customer.

This is my favorite Subway in La Mesa! They always have a full staff and the employees always ask how you are doing and seem to really care. I never get charged for avocado or extra cheese.

Thanks for the unripe avocado in my foot long. You guys are the best!

Typical workers but I think it’s super tacky that one of the workers always has her 10yr old kid in there with her while she works
She comes out from the back playing then goes back In the back
I even saw the worker helping her with her homework instead of working
I’m all for mothers working but hire a babysitter
Another girl there always has a attitude like she’s better than everybody yet she works there so obviously your not
Food is fresh place is clean music is funny, i did not know subway had their own theme songs even in r&b/techno

If you’ve been to one Subway you have been to them all. Sam menu, same ingredients, just a different location. If you like subway you will like it!

I used to love this Subway, until one of the worker forgot bacon in my sandwich.

Always clean, has a nice friendly staff and always quick.

Subway. Fresh? Not sure what alternate dimensional portal these other reviewers are traveling to when they go to eat at the bizzaro Subway, but the sandwich I got here was as dull and lifeless (and non-​fresh) as any Subway I had ever been to anywhere else. I’d rate it a 2-​star «meh I’ve experienced better,» except for the simple fact that I have never experienced any better at a Subway. I will however state that the lone girl working there when we came in was super nice and got us in and out quickly.

This is my favorite Subway so far. The ingredients were fresh, the employees were nice, and the sandwiches taste great. I ordered two 6″ sandwiched. First, was the new chicken and spinach and second was the oven roasted chicken with bacon ranch. I have to say, I enjoy watching them make my sandwiches. (

Both sandwiches were great. They were toasted so everything was warm and moist. The chicken in both sandwiches was moist and tasty. The greens in both sandwiches were fresh. The bacon in the oven roasted sandwich was in there, but it was hardly noticeable. (
) Overall, the sandwiches were very good.
The service was very good. I like the that they actually engage in a conversation. The place was very clean, and as I looked in all the food containers, everything looked fresh.
Give me more bacon…

Nice restaurant, although it’s tough to park. I gotta think that these lanes are 6′ wide.

Only downside is the Subway music playing in the background. It’s subway songs! :-) Something like «5 dollar footlong and the 12 toppings…» Actually it was kinda funny :-)

It’s a subway. You know what your’e gonna get.
This particular subway is probably a little better then most Subways… but it’s still a subway.
The service is friendly enough and the price is great ($ 5 footlongs)
But for the life of me I can’t understand why someone would go here instead of the Trolly Stop Deli next door.
