Played here on 10÷28÷13 as part of the East Ascension-St Amant Spartan-Gator Shootout… This is a golf tourney based on a Ryder Cup format… I’m a Dutch Town supporter(3d high school in Ascension Parish and all 3 are fierce rivals) but got dragooned into playing for EA… Found it funny that 2 Ascension Parish schools were holding their fundraiser in St John the Baptist Parish, but I digress… From what I understand this is a Pete Dye designed course(if you don’t know golf, he’s a celebrated golf course designer) and it’s a good test for your average golfer looking to duff it around or for your better golfer looking for a challenge… it’s located in the Belle Terre subdivision in LaPlace, LA which at one time was THE place to live, not sure now, seems kinda faded… Would have loved to see it in its glory days when Bobby Hebert, Ricky Jackson and other Saints players were using it as their main golf course The course was in good shape and had a great time playing this course… however if you’re prone to hitting you’re ball into water then be aware that about 14 of the holes have water which means trouble lurks… Not sure what regular green fees are since I played in a tournament but feel they’d be reasonable and I would play this course again… If you’re looking for a good course to play it’s a short drive from NOLA and I think you’ll find it worth it… By the way, EA smoked St Amant… Winner, winner, Chicken Dinner! **Closed Mondays! Green fees Tuesday through Thursday $ 39 and $ 49 on weekends.
