Good for the money. It has a full fridge and freezer, 2 burner stove and microwave. However no pots, pans, or dishes. You can purchase a dish package(we didn’t). The website says you have to pay for unlimited linen exchange, however when I called the front desk they allowed us to swap out our two towels and two washcloths as often as needed with no extra charge. Our heater was broken and there was no comforter when we checked in, but they brought one up and sent a technician to fix the heater. We did have ants in our bathroom. It was overall very clean and quiet with friendly service. We would stay there again.

Great value as the name suggests. Room comes with all the things you would need for a long term stay. full kitchen, bed, nice bathroom. No coffee maker. Clean for the most part. the bed sheets smelled a little dingy and so did the room. Worked for an overnight stay for us. Good enough for a fair price! The area seems safe and there is a Waffle House across the street for breakfast.

First, a quick caveat. My review for this hotel is intended to rank it against other hotels in or near its class. Value Place is not the Ritz Carlton. It’s not even America’s Best Value Inn. But they are very good at what they are: a budget hotel, where sleep, a shower and a little TV time are the only reasons you’re there. And maybe to cook your leftovers from the night before. Service A few weeks ago, I stayed at an upscale hotel on the East Coast. There were two noticeable differences between the front desk personnel there and at the La Porte Value Place. One, they wore suits at the upscale place, whereas the lady working the Value Place wore a red polo and black pants. Two, the lady working at Value Place seemed to really care about my comfort during my 18-hour stay. This is a big deal to me, as I want to know that if I call downstairs with a question or concern, I’ll get honest(non-corporate line) dialogue. Way to go Value Place! The Property From the outside(see my photo), this place is pretty much cookie-cutter. But once you walk in the door, you’ll see that they have gone with the model of the college dormitory. There are no burnished woods or fake plants. Just a window and a small corridor. Different for a hotel property, but not off-putting. Also know that there’s no pool; no ice machines; not even shampoo or wash rags. And that’s OK. You can get many toiletries from a vending machine and the management has a menu of sorts of products and services, if you want to pay a few bucks here and there. Fortunately, high-speed Internet is included with your stay(up to three devices). The mattresses weren’t like sleeping on a cloud, but they weren’t bad. The pillows, on the other hand — meh. Still, the air conditioner blew cold; there were no foreign odors; and the place was spotless. Even the microwave and fridge. Final Verdict I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, particularly if we were vacationing. There are little things such as the desk looking more like a school desk and less like expensive furniture, but truth is – it works! I really like the idea of paying for what I need and not paying for what I don’t and Value Place gives you that. It’s ingenious on their part. If you’re going away for a romantic weekend, stay somewhere else. But if you need a place to shower and sleep, this is your spot. If you’re looking for a few days of showering and sleeping — and perhaps a little cooking(the rooms have a 2-burner stove, full sink and large fridge), this is your place. Have children who want to spend all day at the beach or the amusement park and need a place to wind down? Value Place is your place.
