Days Inn Lacey Olympia Area

Alot of People stumping around above us in the Morning. Bed was a Little Hard. No hot food for breakfast, other than waffle and oatmeal which you had to make yourself.
Decent place to lay your head at the last moment

We stayed here a few weeks ago for 5 nights. The first night, we arrived late around 1am from a really long drive. As soon as we got out of the car we could hear yelling coming from one of the room widows. In the lobby there was a woman sitting in a chair that looked intoxicated & a couple just hanging out. Checking in was fast & simple. We get to our room which is pretty basic, which was fine. But it looked pretty dingy. Everything looked like it just needed a real good deep clean. As we were getting settled & ready for bed we realized we were right below the guests who were yelling. At first we tried to ignore it but it got louder and crazier. We asked to be moved. We were placed on the other side. The new room was a bit better but still very dingy. Everyday walking in and out, the staff was very to themselves. They really wouldn’t interact with us unless we came up to them. The only actual friendly staff was the female night time receptionist. Our room key was inactivated 4 of the 5 nights so at night when we got in we couldn’t get inside our room without having to go back down to the lobby to ask for our key to get fixed. Overall it was one of our least enjoyable stays at an inn/​hotel. I don’t think I would recommend this to a family. And I won’t be staying here again.

Last minute stopover after a long drive. Just needed a place to crash and the price was right.
For the price this is the perfect place. On a scale of 1 – 10 cleanliness it was around an 8.
Room was remodeled. Front desk staff was very friendly and check in was a breeze.
There was no odor to the hallways lobby or room.
After reading other reviews I must concur that the lobby had some people hanging out through the night that were NOT guests of the hotel.
I am all for helping homeless people when it is cold out, but it did make us uncomfortable about the parking lot and walking through the lobby.
Once again for the price it is a GREAT DEAL. I will choose to spend a little more and stay in a little better property.
If you are looking for a decent place at a great price this is your place for sure!
BTW Our car was fine in the morning. We did exit through a side door so we wouldn’t have to see the people in the lobby.

DISGUSTING place. Warning! Do not stay here. It’s privately owned by a rag head not cooperate owned. This means legally he can get away with some things in which he normally would be watched by through a bigger corporation. The grounds are nasty and dirty, the rooms are disgusting with mold and mildew, entire room is outdated, and a guest currently staying there mentioned there were bed bugs resulting in a room change. The guests in the lobby look like tweekers and hoodlums. The owner was even speaking ill to an ex employee telling her in a very rude manner that she couldn’t have her paycheck. One can obviously tell what the owner thinks of his employees. Probably treats the current ones like crap. My suggestion… go to the holiday Inn express or ramada. Way better quality!

OK, so first of all, I made my reservation through Priceline. I was going to leave a verified review there, but their review system is down… the button is completely missing. I actually called their customer service and they told me it was not working. How bizarre! Aside from that, I was able to get a king size, non-​smoking room for $ 47/​night using Express Deals.
On to my stay the Days Inn… :)
Here are the bad things (very few, so I will get those out of the way first):
1) The front desk attendant that checked me in had a lot of confusion over my reservation. Granted, I threw them a curve ball because I had reserved a 2 night stay, and then added a 2^nd reservation for another night prior to the first one. Then when she combined my reservation, somehow it didn’t update the computer properly, so when I came back to my room after the first day after being out of the hotel for a while, I walked in on the maid packing up my items from my room and moving me out since it was past checkout time. No rudeness or anything: they apologized for the confusion. But I do feel like employees need some better training on the reservation system.
2) The continental breakfast could use some improvement. The breakfast room was very clean and well maintained. However, it is in a conference room on the 2^nd floor and it’s not easy to find. I was there 3 days and it was virtually empty every time. I have a feeling people didn’t even know it was there. They have cereal & oatmeal, bagels and bread, yogurt (diet only, but fine for me), apples, juice, coffee and a waffle maker. What’s missing is some kind of protein. Simply adding some sausage patties and cheese and some pre-​made egg patties would be sufficient and put it on par with most of the continental breakfasts I’ve been to recently.
3) Smoke smell in the hallways and elevator. (My room was non-​smoking and was smoke smell-​free.) However, people must be smoking in the stairwells or something. Personally, I think all smoking should be banned in hotels, just like every other public building in Washington State, but that’s another issue.
Now for the good
1) For the quality and amenities at this price point (even at rack rates), this is a great deal. I’ve been to a half dozen hotels in the Olympia area and this is the best quality and amenities I’ve found under $ 80 a night.
2) I can’t speak for all of the rooms, but mine was very recently updated. New carpets, fresh paint, very clean, including the bathrooms. My king room was large and comfortable and included a work desk, love seat and additional chairs. Everything I saw in the hotel was clean and recently updated. Everything in my room was pristine. The only negative I could find was the comforter on my bed had a small cigarette burn in it, but all linens were clean.
3) The spa area is awesome. I can’t believe it was so empty the 3 nights I was here. The sauna runs HOT (good thing), there is a steam room, a spa, and a pool. All were very clean and well maintained.
4) Convenient location. Pretty much everything you could possibly want or need is within ½ mile of the hotel. I walked next door on Sunday to the Ram (sports bar) to watch the Seahawks game. There is a Walmart, Winco, Safeway, Big Lots, multiple fast food and sit-​down restaurants, all within a 5 minute walk.
So to summarize, aside from some minor technical difficulties with my reservation, I was very happy with my stay and would definitely stay here again. It’s a great value at this price point.

The staff was very attentive and will do what they can for you. That being said the management is terrible. Changes nightly rate whenever for no reason and no notification. I definitely DO NO RECOMMEND this hotel. The hot tub and pool has only been tested once in the last few months. Disgusting!

Honestly one star is an exaggeration, these people freakin SUCK. Very unfamiliar friendly, they don’t want to work with you at all. Never again

It is what it is, one of the cheapest motel you can find in Lacey area so my expectations are lower. The biggest reason why I give them a 4 star is because of the cheap price, 2^nd is the free continental breakfast was very good, and the location is very convenient to the freeway. We stayed here for 15 days and it gave us time to find our house. The staff are all very friendly.

I have been to this place a few times now in about 5 different rooms. Most do have their ups and downs. Over all I have had a good experience.
I have to thank David in, I’ll have to say management, for all his help. He was quick to help when I needed it.

So I was slightly terrified on our drive down here after reading the reviews on trip advisor. I’m not really sure what in the world people were complaining about.
First, checkin when smoothly. We arrived right at 3 which is shift change. We had to wait about 5 minutes tops but they had drinks and we got to look around check the place out so it wasn’t too bad of a wait. Upon arriving at our room I was pleasantly surprised. It was extremely large, clean, and had a m/​f. To top it off the tv is a flat screen 46 inch. I’m guessing there have been updated since some of the reviews.
Within an hour of checking in we headed to the pool. They have a large pool, hot tub, sauna, and steam room. Really who offers that at these rates. We got one heck of a deal.
The bathroom is large and all new it looked like except maybe the shower surround but it was clean and no signs of mold. So far our stay had been great don’t let the other reviews scare you. I’ll update once we have finished our stay.
Only downfall so far is the 20/​night pet fee. I could see 20 – 25 flat fee but 20 a night is a little much so budget for that.

If you’re looking for cheap accomodations you might be satisfied here.
Arrival: First off the grounds around the hotel are messy and unkept. Smoking is permitted right in front of the front doors. I smoke so it doesn’t bother me but it bothered several other guests I talked to so I stayed farther away, for their comfort. The desk employees are nice and pleasant enough but usually look tired so they’re obviously overworked. And the elevator has to be one of the slowest I’ve ever encountered. The hallways had a noticable marijuana smell most of the time I was there. Several shady looking characters running around this place at all times. In the spirit of saying something nice I will say that it’s close to the highway and within walking distance of several restaurants and convenience stores, so they’ve got that going for them.
Amenities: The breakfast bar thing is okay, although there’s not much there, and they insist that everything stay in that room and not be taken back to the rooms. The pool and hot tub area aren’t bad but they close at 11pm. The guest laundry room is awful. No supplies like detergent or softener, not even a dispenser machine. The washers and dryers (2 each) look they were the first washers and dryers EVER built! One washer and one dryer was always broken. The vending machines are usually empty and the selection that is there is not very appealing.
Room: This is where it gets bad. The room itself isn’t bad but the walls and ceilings are paper thin. I literally heard everything the folks upstairs from me did, including just walking back and forth. The ceiling creaked everytime they walked across their room so that woke me up on several occasions. The TV, at least half of the channels they list on their channel guide aren’t available.
Overall: This isn’t the worst place I’ve ever stayed (that’s reserved for a place in Little Rock, AR!). However its certainly not the best. You get what you pay for so hopefully you can bargain the desk clerks down to a lower, more reasonable rate. I doubt that I would stay here again if I have to come back to this area.

Very clean, great service, friendly staff, great breakfast, prices are good, great location, Rana is the manager and he’s a great manager and helped us a lot with our 2 month stay…

The room I stayed in was upgraded, way nicer than when I stayed here before! Continental breakfast is very basic, toast, cereal, yogurt and fruit. The continental breakfast staff lady was more friendly than the front desk staff.
Cons…the room we stayed in was pretty small for 4 people.
The pool says it’s open from 9 am to 9 pm, but it closes from 11 am to 11:45 for cleaning? Why not clean it between 9 pm and 9 am?!

Terrible terrible terrible experience.
We booked a room through a third party vendor that listed a pool, jacuzzi and sauna on the amenities list (which was the only reason we chose this hotel). I called the hotel in advance to inquire how late the pool would be open and was told 24 hours. It was New Year’s eve and my boyfriend and I were in a serious budget (making the pool our only highlight of the evening).
We check into the hotel, find a grimy room with a broken lamp and quickly get in our bathing suits and set off to find the pool. The front desk sees us wandering and asks us where we are headed and when we tell them, they say the pool, jacuzzi and sauna are closed for renovation. Devastated, we ask for the next best thing for entertainment and they send us across the street to a casino/​restaurant that was closed.
The following morning I awoke to extreme thirst and set out for a bottle of water. While wandering the halls I find several vending machines containing crappy canned soda. I head to the front desk where the girl that had just been belting out some terrible words to a terrible song, rudely tells me that they are «out» of bottled water and need to get more. I was so thirsty at that point that I succumbed to the vending machine that was out of every beverage except diet coke. Then my boyfriend decides he wants coffee and was told they were ‘out’. At this point we decide we have had enough (it is 6:00 am) so we decide to head home as fast as we can.
Once home, I realized I had left something at the hotel. My boyfriend went to pick it up, he found an empty front counter, waits and waits, even calls the front desk when finally, 15 minutes later someone shows up.
I called Days Inn corporate to relay our experience and was told that it was the third party responsible for the pool discrepancy and that I needed to contact them… completely disregarding my other complaints about the service in general.
What a joke!

I had a crazy night in Seattle and thought I could make it back to Portland but that didn’t happen. We needed to fill up gas and I saw the Days Inn, we were all so tired and we decided to see if I can get a room. WOWWW $ 86.00 for one night!!! They gave me a discounted rate and accepted my AAA discount. I cannot be more thankful for that. But the real reason why I gave them five stars is due to Sarah (assistant manager). I left a very expensive belt there and I thought it would be long gone. I called them and they’ve located my belt held it for me. I had to arrange all the UPS pickup and everything but Sarah was so helpful throughout this entire situation. Thank you for your company’s honesty and business ethics. I am now waiting for ups to pick it up and bring it home to me!

Worst stay ever. Carpet in our room at the Door has duck tape for the the baseboard. Not very clean room. And the staff do not want to do anything. No one to come to our room to fix a toilet that was not flushing. To tell a person you have to come to the ground level to use a toilet because you do not have one person else on duty is wrong @ 8 am on a weekend during the holiday weekend! The ground floor bathroom doesn’t even have the soap dispenser hanging up. Do not stay here.

Read my tip below for details but this location is still under renovation which shows they care and are willing to reinvest and maintain the bldg and property. Great rates, friendly staff, I’d have no problem returning!

Do not stay here!!! They quoted $ 80 a night for one queen bed room for two. The price posted in the room was $ 75. It was a huge hassle, but I did get my $ 5 back after much arguing from the manager. Other issues: broken elevator, all ice machines were broken, all vending machines were broken. Big issue: bath towels and wash cloths smelled of smoke. The manager’s response in his broken English: «You have tell me n 15 minutes.» Seriously??? I was in the shower!!!

Oh Man… partially remodeled is right. Our bathroom was nice, but everything else seemed as though it had not been touch since 1975. Including our mattress, it was a queen… and concave, worst bed ever. We did have a newer tv though… it took us 20 mins to figure out how to turn it on… it was a combination of having it plugged into the right socket and the right light switch turned on. We also only had two towels, and the free breakfast was horrible. Cable sucked… only about a ¹⁄₃ of the stations listed on their «guide» were actually active. Overall, I just had that «do not touch anything» feeling.
The only pleasant thing about this place was Damara, the gal at the front desk.
I suggest to anyone thinking of staying here… spend an extra $ 20 and check in to the Best Western across the street, now thats a winner. Im going to try and go back there, since were supposed to be here all week.

When we drove up the first thing I saw was a pile of old mattresses. Cool we’ll most likely be sleeping on a new bed. As we are walking in there are areas that are still being remodeled. The lobby is lovely, all black and white with shiny new tile.
We get up to our room and I would say that about 75% has been updated. Beautiful couch and chair, desk, lamps, and dresser. I always check the mattress and bedding, and was pleasantly surprised to find a brand new mattress. The t.v. is tiny and the remote kept together by tape.
The bathroom. It is sadly also only partially remodeled. They have put in a black countertop with a very modern faucet, the tile on the floor is large stripped gray. Then it just goes down hill. The walls are covered in ugly old pink tiles with dingy grout. And there are only two towels! This is a king room why at their not at least four? Two for each of us.
I really hope that they finish with the remodeling soon because I really would like to be able to stay here again.
