Had the roast beef sandwich, their claim to fame. It was good but not worth driving out of your way. No atmosphere to speak of. Service was below average, and not a smile on on a single servers face. Wings appetizer came about the time dessert would have been served if we made it that far.

Everyone’s right about that roast beef! As long as you know youre in for an incredibly divey place and requiring 27 napkins, you’re set! The beer selection was nice and it was a big bar with a good amount of tvs for games. Our roast beef sandwiches were definitely delicious. fries were typical but I’d be back for the sandwiches and a beer during a game. Everything was cheap, quick, and relaxing.

Not bad. Not great. First thing I noticed, or should I say didn’t notice was the fact that it’s so poorly lit from the outside, that you will have trouble finding it at night unless you already know where it is. Could use some updating on the inside. Service was a little slow despite appearing to have more than enough staff. Took about 20 minutes to get fries, then another 20 to get sandwiches, which came well after the fries were gone. Not good for a place that is supposed to specialize in roast beef sandwiches. On the upside, the food was pretty good. It’s basically a local watering hole with decent food. Unless you’re within a 20 minute drive, there are too many better places to eat.

This place is amazing. The service was fast and respectul. The food was the best part. They are famous for the roast beef sandwich and this wonder pub did not disappoint. I have never enjoyed a hot roast beef as much as I did this one. Eat here, you won’t regret it!

BESTROASTBEEFSANDWICHESEVER!!! We came here for a conference from New Jersey and decided to check out a local eatery with reasonable prices and above average food. All signs lead to Ye Olde Ale House. Service was prompt and the dining room was clean and accomidating. Roast beef was cut fresh to order. Will definitely make the drive back just to eat here!

Just moved in a mile down the road from this place and can’t believe we didn’t come try it sooner(we waited a month)! It’s a big room, bar and booth/table seating close together. Other reviews are right, it is a family setting too. There were some families there when we went on a Monday night. My he huge slab of roast beef is in the middle of the bar and you watch as they shave off every bite of your sandwich and then pour the juice onto the plate before they serve you. It was AMAZING. We didn’t stop talking about the sandwich for a week. No joke. And it’s only $ 7! Do note that this is not the place to come if you want something lite or healthy. It’s the place you come for beef and fried food and beer – lots on tap by the way. Our server/bartender was very kind and never over-bothered us. he would ask us if we wanted a second round after we finished our last sip– always perfect timing. Loved the experience, will definitely be back many more times to come!

Best roast beef sandwich this side of Nicks Café. Make sure you order a beef with provolone and burnt ends. Also a good selection of craft drafts.

Carnivore heaven! Make sure you keep vegetarians outside of the one half mile limit! What you ask? If they get any closer they start shaking and their eyes start bulging. There is terrible screaming. Other horrific things happen too awful to mention in a family review. Just drop them off outside the limit and everything will be fine. Trust me, I know these things. As a carnivore, this is the Holy Grail. You know you are in heaven when you see that the carving station dominates the center of the bar area. Multiple people carving amazing sandwiches to order. Let’s be clear about the ATMOSPHERE. This is a dive bar with a full liquor license serving Roast Beef to die for. So you can get other FOOD here but almost everyone comes for the beef. Order it wet or dry or anything in-between. The gravy here is amazing and you can have it on the side for dipping if you want. Add a slice of provolone either regular or sharp. Ask for the outside edges if you want extra spices. Fresh horseradish and hot peppers will be ready for you. It’s going to cost you around $ 7. Add an order of fries and it doesn’t get much better. BTW– You’re going to need about 25 napkins. May not be a great choice as a 1st date spot as you’re going to have gravy dripping down your arms. This place has been around forever, has a solid 4 stars, and is always mobbed. Stop by and you’ll understand why.

This place is so great. I hovered between 4 and 5 stars but it’s just so unique I had to go with 5. A family-friendly divebar with above average craft beer selections and the best roast beef sandwich I’ve had anywhere ever. We’ve also tried salads, onion rings, and oh yeah, they have gravy fries. Everything leaves you wanting to try more… especially the roast beef. Seriously, try it.

This place feels like 1950 in all the best ways possible! Hot roast beef sandwiches with fresh horseradish and hot peppers on the table, Continental fries tossed in parmesan and celery salt, and cold beer — nothing is better! Get the roast beef with the crispy ends if you want more seasoning, and the sharp provolone is a great touch. The beef gravy is fantastic for the sandwich or to make wet fries. Yum! The place is old school with wood-paneled walls and blue glass windows on the doors. The clientele ranges from families to old folks, and the place is casual. No yuppies here. Nicole gave us exceptional service, from the moment she saw us walk in. She pointed us toward empty tables, made suggestions when we told her it was our first visit, served our food promptly, checked back oFten, and took care of our check quickly. If you are looking for a place to chill after a long week of work, this is it!

The best roast beast I’ve ever had, anywhere, hands down. For those of you saying that Chicago slop is better, give me a break! Hand-sliced or Hobart-sliced? Gravy on top or on the side or sitting over-cooked and mushy in beef bullion? It isn’t even close, friends. Beef, rare, outside, wet with provolone… now that’s a good call!

What an amazing roast beef sandwich. The ends were awesome, but don’t think you have to use all of it on your sandwich. Nice atmosphere, good prices, great service.

We’ve been coming here for the roast beef for years. It’s so good that we’ve never been able to bring ourselves to order anything else– other than a side of fries and some steamers. Don’t forget the sharp provolone. I can never decide which is better, so I put long hots on half my sandwich and horseradish on the other. Love the fantastic beer selection. There’s always something new on tap whenever we go in. The service is always friendly and the prices are fair. Nice laid– back atmosphere for for a quick lunch, or hanging out and watching a game on any of the many TVs.

I’ve been going here for years and usually get take out but sometimes you have to eat in if only for the… ambiance? 70s style décor, paper plates, no frills, and everyone seems to know everyone. It’s great! Always packed on weekend nights and the food is SOGOOD so it’s no wonder why! Get the fried mushrooms & a roast beef sandwich– you won’t regret it!

Came to check out this place with a friend who hasn’t been shutting up about it for a while. Stopped by during the dinner rush on a Saturday night and was seated after a few minutes of waiting. It seems like a lot of families bring their kids to what seems to be more of a bar than restaurant which goes to show how good the food is. What’s really cool about this place is that they slice the beef in the middle of the island bar so you can see your sandwich being made. Now I’m not a big fan of roast beef but man was this tasty! The sandwiches are fairly small so I was more than happy to grab another one along with my drink. Great casual spot for great roast beef sandwiches. I’d recommend getting the gravy fries that soak up just the right amount of liquid. Man I’m getting hungry!

It simple is not what it was. The rolls are smaller, the people are nastier and the floors are dirtier. We used to as a group on Fridays and it was always great. We moved away in 98 and every time we return, we try it again and it just gets worse and worse.

One of my local favorites. Always good, no complaints(except for the old, miserable lady that servs sometimes — try to avoid her). One of the last remaining places to get a fresh cut, made to order, hot roast beef sandwich. Lots of stuff on the menu. The soup is always good. Excellent before a game or a Saturday lunch.

Don’t bother looking at the menu. All you need is a beer and beef sandwich with some outside(crispy outer meat from the roast) and some horseradish. This place does is right. Most places that boast great beef sandwiches drown the meat in gravy and pull it out when you order. The Ale house carves the meat to order and you can taste the difference. Don’t stop in expecting a well lit modern bar. This place is a dive bar with great sandwiches and that’s why I love it. If you don’t like it drive up the road to Blue Bell and keep your nose high.
