Was working down the road and stopped in was not impressed with the food had the Southwest Turkey Club run of the mill… Cold cut turkey cheese and bacon bits was expecting more but it filled the lunch void one shot probably will not return.

The sausage and mushroom calzone was perfect. Right amount of dough-ingredients proportionate. Service was pleasant and prompt-maybe 10 minutes. Highly recommend the calzone and cannot wait to try the pizza!

The food is ok, run of the mill calzones. The pricing is more than fair. The service is brutal though. The owner is rude, and slinks away if there is a problem so you’re left dealing with teenagers who don’t want to be bothered.

Excellent place to eat for lunch the parking however is terrible. I recommend the pizza or Philly Cheese.

There is a 2nd location, but this original location is the place to be! Was recommended by a friend where she has been living in Lafayette area for the last 5+years and this is her and her husband’s favorite pizza place! The pizza is good! I don’t know how to describe it, but it wasn’t doughy like other places are and it just had the right blend of topping to pizza dough. My girlfriend and I got the calzone, which seems its the hot item to get here and it was delicious! It had the right ratio of toppings to the calzone dough and it wasn’t a lot of bread on it. Nice and crispy outside of the dough, with the soft bread-like, and the hot piping stuffing inside of it! The coolest thing is that you can substitute certain toppings on one of those pre-made or specialty pizza that they have on their menu. The interior is so-so and they open quite late! Good place to grab a late night pizza after a night of drinking. As the name says, yes they do have spicy pickles, and that is also tasty as well! The one that you see in the jar on top of counter will vary because it depends on how long it sits in the spicy brine. So the waitress pulled out some really spicy pickles from the prep table where they prep the pizza, subs, and etc and gave it to us! The bread sticks were addicting as well! They come in variety of sizes(which I like, compared to other places, where they have the same exact lengths). The biggest component is that they are smothered in butter and man, that just makes these bread sticks addicting! Overall, this is going to be my go to pizza place!

Not much consistency in the food here but it is good. Sometimes the garlic breadsticks are smothered in sauce and sometimes they just aren’t. The teenagers who work here don’t seem to have a clue or put much effort into what they are doing. It’s really hit or miss I guess. Overall, Niko’s is a great place to eat.

I’ve been here several times as my dad loves this place. I stop by when I’m in town to see him. My mom refuses to come here over some problem she had with using a half price hookup deal. She says they refused to honor it, and she has made it clear she will never be back. This means when I am in town, my dad likes to come here because my mom refuses to come with him! The food here is usually 3 – 4 stars. Pretty good, nothing super special. The few times I have been here I have had pizza, a sandwich and a calzone. This weekend I ordered a ham and spinach calzone, but I was surprised to see the spinach didn’t welt down in the calzone making it pretty difficult to eat. The bottom got greasy(or just wet from condensation maybe?) and made the crust very soggy. Parking here can be tricky during busier hours, but I usually manage to find a spot by coming during off hours.

My dad and I were in the area and needed to stop for lunch. Decided we’d try something random and picked this place. He put down TWO Philly cheesesteak subs and I got a calzone. Best lunch I’ve had in a while.

I’ve been here a few times and every time, the food is just mediocre. Everything is made fresh, which is great, but nothing is ever quite the way it should be. For example, the chicken caesar wrap has grilled chicken, lettuce, tomato, cheese, and dressing. The dressing is great, but they serve it to you in a cup OUTSIDE of the wrap, so you have to unwrap the whole thing in order to put the dressing on it, which makes no sense. The chicken is somewhat flavorless and a little dry(although you can see that it is freshly grilled at the counter). They use iceberg lettuce, which does not belong on a caesar salad. There are a few tiny slices of tomato, which don’t really belong on a caesar, but even if you liked it, there’s not quite enough. None of these things make it inedible, it’s just not how it should be. Similar experiences with other sandwiches. Also, their paninis sound good on the menu, but the bread is really hard and sort of crusty, which doesn’t make for a nice panini(way too crunchy!). On the bright side, their garlic cheese rolls are delicious. The atmosphere is nothing special, but they do have a few tables outside(although the traffic can be a bit noisy since it’s close to the road).

I have a couple different takes on this restaurant. The pizza was really good, skimpy on the toppings but good. I had the Italian sub which had great flavor but was extremely lacking in the meat catagory, only 1 slice of salami, 5 pepperoni and a small amount of ham, it was 95% bread and 5% meat which leaves the other 5%. I ordered the sub with onions and pepperconis but watch out they charge you $.90 per XTRA topping which I think is crazy. I will not be back due to cost cutting by the restaurant on their meats and toppings.

The food is a bit hit or miss. Prices are really great and portion sizes are huge. A full sandwich is actually 2 sandwiches, so be ware. Cheesy bread is really good. Not a big fan of their Greek food though, they use frozen and pre shaved gyro meat, not real cool. Worth a try!

This place is awesome! They use super fresh, all natural produce and meats, and it really shows in their good. A group of friends and I come here pretty regularly for their pizza, which is delicious! They usually have coupons too, for a large pizza for $ 6.25, which usually serves 4 of us, so it is an amazing deal! The staff is friendly, and it is never overwhelmingly crowded. Also, out wait time is usually minimal. Pros: — Fresh produce and meats — Quick and nice service — Close to campus — Nice interior and music Cons: Can’t think of any

The name of this restaurant is very deceiving. It is actually a pizza, sub, etc. restaurant, not really dealing much with pickles. Two friends and I were in the food for pizza and the only place near his area of living was this small, locally owned restaurant. We got a large pepperoni pizza and it was very good. It wasn’t greasy and it was very delicious. The pizza had an herbal taste to it – I can’t quite put my finger on what it was, but it definitely wasn’t just an ordinary pizza. I have also had the gyro pizza from here and it was really great. The breadsticks and garlic sticks are a great purchase too. They don’t deliver, so I recommend getting a menu for future orders to it can be ready for pickup. On top of that, they are very fast when making your food. While normal places take about 15 to 20 minutes to make your pizza, this location said that it would only be around 7 minutes, and they were completely accurate. What they lack in delivery they make up for in timeliness. The restaurant is very unique and has a good location in Lafayette for what type of food establishment it is. If you browse through their menu, they have all types of specialty pizzas that I think would be really great to try. My friends are picky, so I didn’t get to go that route.

I’m pretty sure this place is actually called Niko’s Spicy Pickle, but I am not sure how to update the name on Unilocal.I have ordered a pizza from here once before, several months ago, and I don’t remember it being very remarkable. I recently decided to give them another shot, so I stopped there after work. As many will note, the outside is rather underwhelming, but the inside is tastefully decorated with cheerful décor. There are menus at the front counter that we picked up, and we were greeted very warmly by one of the employees. She talked about some of their menu items and their restaurant in general. Apparently, the dine-in location will be staying where it is, but the delivery headquarters will be moving across the street… somewhere? I wasn’t too clear on the details for this. We went to sit down and continue looking over the menu — we ultimately decided to share a California sub and an order of cheese sticks. This was plenty of food for the two of us. I think the California sub was about the only vegetarian sub listed, but it was very good. It had spinach, feta, artichoke hearts, and a side of ranch dressing. The cheese sticks were about what you would expect. They did not come with sauce — although one of the employees was gracious enough to provide us with a side of nacho and pizza sauce free of charge. Normally, I believe this would have been $ 0.89 per sauce. I didn’t think they would be worth that expense. They also had some yummy desserts in their display case, and I considered ordering one… but I had taken note of their«$ 5 minimum on credit card» sign, so that discouraged me from purchasing dessert since I likely would have had to purchase more than I wanted to meet the minimum.

Went back to Niko’s for the second time today. Again for lunch. Tried the Italiano sub this time … and ordered the Bacon Sticks(couldn’t resist) just to make sure the first go-round wasn’t a fluke. It wasn’t. They were awesome. And the sandwich was pretty good too. About on par with the Ham & Cheese. But again, everybody left full and happy. And our service was MUCH faster this — thanks to the smaller crowd, no doubt. :)

My boyfriend introduced me to this place and Its really good. They have a nice sized menu and good gourmet sandwiches that are cheap for what they are. Order a «half» sandwich unless you are STARVING because the half sandwich is the size of a normal whole sandwich. I have not yet tried anything except for their prime rib sub which is great!

Alright so I’m a New Yorker so I hope this review holds some weight when I talk about pizza. I live two blocks from this joint, and I ate there for the first time a few weeks ago with one of my roommates who’s from California. We tried the calzones. Now I really can’t compare the calzones out here to out East. On the coasts, calzones are half circle shaped and are more floury. Here, they baste the top with butter to brown it more and put sesame seeds on it. The calzone was on par with the calzones you’d get from Puccini’s in West Lafayette, but they are far cheaper. When my other roommate from Boston got back into town, all three of us went out and got two specialty pizzas from Nicko’s. I’d say it’s the best pizza I’ve had out here in Indiana so far, and it isn’t too far off from some of the pies you’ll get out on Long Island and up near Poughkeepsie. Their BBQ chicken pie is fantastic and I am a big fan of the Meat Man pizza. It’s well worth the price and it’s apparent that they use fresh ingredients: garlic, basil, all the real good stuff. The outside may seem dauntingly small but the inside is a pretty big. All in all, it’s a pretty damn good place to frequent with some friends.

I saw an article for this place in the local paper and started hearing radio ads. I’ve been looking for a good calzone for quite some time. This place does not disappoint in that regard. Even the staff asked me to comment if it was up to my standards. They also have sandwiches and pizza as well which I look forward to trying at some point. They are open 7 days a week though I didn’t see the hours posted. This is mostly a casual lunch or quick dinner place. This place is also called Niko’s Spicy Pickle.

Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much. The sandwiches are better than average for this town, and the calzones amount to more than a graduated hot-pocket, which makes them the best in town. Their sandwiches are all toasted, and they take the time to add a bit of garlic/herb butter to the outer surface of the bread. The parking situation is a little wonky, but I have been assured they have space for ten cars. If you worry about such things, just park on the street. The interior décor is friendly, bright and comfortable, and the staff is kindly. Verdict: Niko’s Spicy Pickle, the actual name of this restaurant, is a great place to add to your lunch or takeout rotation. I don’t think they are a destination location, but you’re definitely going to get your money’s worth.
