There’s no way for me to review the PCH property I lived at(217 Pierce Street, Apt #11), so this’ll have to do. Everybody: Prime Campus Housing isn’t your enemy, and the front office people aren’t evil. YOU just perceive them that way because they didn’t run drop whatever they were doing to come and fix your dishwasher or dinged you with a late fee for rent. People seem to have an issue with Jonathan – one of the managers at PCH – but he’s not a bad guy. Flustered, perhaps, even exasperated at times, but understand that he has a business to run and he doesn’t have time for the bullsh*t of every single tenant. I loved the look and feel of our apartment(until my former roomie totally wrecked the place) – lots of dark stained wood, a vaulted ceiling, appliances in decent condition, a ceiling fan, and an outdoor balcony! My room was criminally tiny, while my roommate’s was huge, easily twice the size of mine with a walk-in closet. That didn’t exactly scream ‘fair’ to me. I never experienced any maintenance issues or problems with parking during my time here. I recall the rent being reasonable, about what you’d expect to pay for such close proximity to campus and the Chauncey-area bars. Excellent location with well-functioning heat and A/C. I was a PCH tenant for nearly a year and had a great living experience… until my ex-roommate, Ryan A, went into HULKSMASH mode and absolutely ripped the place to shreds. Ninja throwing star divots in the walls, knife gashes in the wood cabinets(intentional), and he somehow managed to ram a SWORD thru the all-metal entry door, leaving what I can only describe as Wolverine-scale gouges. Even though it was 100% his destructive undoing, I had to fight with the landlord to receive a fraction of my security deposit back. My biggest complaint is that PCH had a tendency of letting themselves in without prior warning, including one time I was passed out butt-nekkid on the living room sofa. Hah, surprise bitches! An eyeful of my cash’n’prizes is what you get for not notifying us beforehand. The best part? It was a woman showing our bachelor pad to a couple of girls.

There are a lot of places to rent from in West Lafayette, but these guys shoot you straight. I appreciated that about them. I’ve rented before, and I’m not a kid so when you call the landlord and he tells you it’s going to take an hour to fix something that broke… that’s pretty good. I know it’s not all about me, so I’m ok with it. My neighbor complained that he’d clogged his toilet by trying to flush pizza down it… and the landlord didn’t run out and fix it. I said ‘Did you plunge it? Why stick pizza down it?’. I moved from out of the country to here, and I was able to get my degree and stayed with Prime Campus Housing for 4.5 years. It was really helpful to be within walking distance of campus, and I was great ful during the winter. People come and go in these places, and there’s going to be some wear and tare. That makes sense. I liked the guy in the front office, and we had a good rep ore. He even gave me gift cards at one point. Now I’m out of college, and loving life in a house! If you have to rent in college, I would totally recommend these guys. Ask for John in the office and tell him Rob sent ya!

I have had tons of complaints! One of them, AC keeps going bad. They are in process of upgrading equipments, only when they are fixed twice. Also they are pretty much strict regarding monthly rent payments, even though they may process it a week later. Also the cost — quality of services offered don’t go hand in hand.
