In town for work, but because my diet is more catered to a Paleo lifestyle I found Rachel’s through google searching. Needless to say I was not disappointed. Greater by two employees behind the counter in a place I would call a «hole in the wall» and most places like this have some amazing food options. The chili was awesome, the type you would go back for seconds and I wanted seconds. Perfect amount of spice and the coconut sweet potatoes were an added bonus. Recommend Rachel’s for anyone needing gluten free option or Paleo.

After completing some work in the area I decided to give this place a try. Overall the food was pretty good with reasonable prices. As for the staff they were okay.

Was hoping for more based on reviews. Had crab cakes app and sharks gumbo. Crab cakes were a bit burned on one side and had a buttery taste. Gumbo was good. Menu had Rachel’s special with 3 – 4 different proteins. Must not have all been in mine. Great flavor. I thought menu was high priced for lunch. Most entrees were $ 14 – 18. Apps were $ 9 – 13. Not sure I will return for lunch., Liked how they had gluten free items.

Have everything in the menu except for the okra(I don’t like okra). Have not been disappointed and eat there once or twice a week. What’s my favorite? Everything on the menu minus the okra.

Ate at Rachel’s for my first time, && it won’t be the last time. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was delicious!

Healthy and Lafayette do not usually cross paths when I visit, but this restaurant is fantastic. I am glad a local brought me here, and it was nice to be able to breathe normally after a meal in this town. I even had room for one of their paleo cookies which was surprisingly delicious. The coconut sweet potato was the highlight for me. The cauliflower«rice» was good too. I’ll never go low carb but I could eat that regularly and not miss real rice.

Rachael’s has that down home, comfort food feel to it, but you can get a pretty healthy meal there, too. My experience comes from ordering from the healthy menu. However, people seemed to be enjoying comfort food when I walked in, too, so don’t let an aversion to healthier fare stop you from visiting Rachael’s Café. Their Red Snapper, Tilapia & Grouper entrees were a good size. Adding the optional sauteed mushrooms & onions ups the taste even more. The Brussels Sprouts, Coconut Sweet Potatoes, Baked Sweet Potato, Okra, Asparagus & Cauliflower«Rice» are all good side dishes. Lacto-fermentation nuts will be happy to know that the drink menu contains commercially produced Kombucha at a very reasonable price. Considering the portion size, quality of the oil used to prepare my food & healthy options, I’m satisfied with their menu prices. I am so excited about this little hole in the wall & look forward to exploring more of that menu!

I’ve ordered takeout twice — the first time I ordered the grilled shrimp caesar, a cup of corn and crab bisque, and bread pudding. The salad had plenty of well-seasoned shrimp, the soup was a bit too thick for me but overall good flavour, and the bread pudding was delicious and rich. The second time I ordered a cheeseburger with onion rings which were great. The bun was sweet(which I love) and the onion rings had a nice batter that wasn’t too heavy. Overall, it’s a good casual place to eat. People on FB have been raving about the lunch specials(which tend to be pretty classic comfort food type dishes), so I’ll probably stop in for lunch sometime soon.
