Born and raised in Laguna and never in my wildest food dreams did I think I’d see an eatery open up featuring Empanadas. I nearly ran off the road when I passed by it on Coast Highway. It’s literally the perfect meal, especially after a long session at Thalia. Kudos Sergio for opening your new brick and mortar. They are Awesome!

These empanadas are great! On Saturdays their food truck is at the Laguna Beach Farmers Market. You can also take frozen empanadas home and bake them in 20 minutes. .and definitely get the chimichurri sauce, which really packs a punch. This is a great find. .small and very casual, take-out or eat in.

We tried the mushroom, carne, prosciutto and three cheese. They were all very good. I listed them in order of our preference. The mushroom and carne were very flavorful. We had only planned to get three but we received a 3 cheese instead of the prosciutto so Sergio very graciously provided a prosciutto and a dolce de leche empanada. The dolce de leche is a bit smaller than the others(and roughly ½ price). It was a wonderful way to wrap up an excellent lunch.

If you are looking for something different to eat in Laguna beach, stop in and give Sergio’s empanadas a try. I found this spot just walking by after a day at the beach. They are located next to the Penguin Café on PCH between Thalia and Anita st. They have a variety of meat and vegetarian choices. My favorite combo is the Prosciutto and sweet potato or broccoli and cheese. Sometimes it’s hard to decide because they are all so delicious. They also have some great desert empanadas that are worth a try. I loved the apple one and will try the dulce de leche next. If you are in the area, give these guys a try. The staff are always friendly and the empanadas are addictive!

One word, AMAZING!!! Unbelievably tasty and reasonably priced. Cute super clean little shop, that smells like a piece of heaven when you walk in. I tried the mushroom empanada and wish I had room to try more. Great local find!

Very nice empanadas. Particularly enjoyed the mushroom empanada. The carne empanada also very good although it doesn’t seem to have as many green olives as a traditional argentine version. Staff very friendly. Would go again.

Tried the carnes, prosciutto and mozzarella — delicious and reasonable — really good flaky pastry — plan to get a bunch to bake at home for my next dinner party. Warm friendly service — support these guys — they are only 3 months old and deserve to do well, and there is nothing similar in Laguna.

Great service, very nice people. My boyfriend and i came in here and he ordered the Ham and Cheese which he said was interesting but very good, i wanted the Broccoli and Cheddar but at the time they said they didnt have. But when we sat down he came over to me to tell me he found one which i happily purchased. The Broccoli and Cheddar was super yummy! Ontop of that, he apologized and gave me a mini one for free which was also delicious! Definitely great service!

Awesome empanadas! Easy to bake at home and great for parties. I recommend ordering minis in advance to insure you get the flavors you want. We’ve tried most of the flavors and have liked all of them. My guests are always impressed.

We took some frozen prosciutto, sweet potato, and mushroom empanadas to bake at home. Baking them was easy and the crust was perfectly flakey. The smell coming out of the oven was wonderful and kindly prepped us for these tasty treats. The prosciutto ones were my favorite although the Mushroom empanadas were a close second. These empanadas were so good we came back again and bought three dozen!

An excellent find! My husband and I were taking a Sunday stroll through the PCH and decided to stop in Laguna for a mid afternoon snack. Instead of searching through Unilocal,I let my eyes and nose decide. We parked at a meter and took a walk down the road. A lot of places we passed were healthy food alternative driven, but it wasn’t until I saw the words«Empanadas» that I got curious and… Crossed the street for some yummy goodness. The place is a hole in the wall that can easily be missed if you weren’t searching for something. It sits right next to a café btw. My first impression was that the temperature of the place was warm– like an oven. Understandably so because I’m assuming they’re cooking up fresh empanadas ’round the clock! A very nice gentleman greeted us and asked if we had any questions. After taking a quick gander at the menu, I ordered the beef and potato empanada, but to my dismay… They were all sold out for the day! *Mental note* that MUST be the really REALLY good one! Instead, the husband and I ordered one of each: *Chicken Pot Pie — exactly as it sounds. Chunks of white meat cubed chicken, peas and carrots in a creamy sauce. Not too salty. I thought there were too many peas, but that’s just me. *Broccoli & Cheese– easily one of my favorites. The gooey insides were super savory and satisfying. *Prosciutto & Cheese– also a winner. I think empanadas with cheese just have that extra special something… All in all, the exterior of each had that flakey pie like texture that I look for in an empanada. It’s the perfect portable snack that I will come back to get soon!

The best empanadas I have tasted in the United States. The pastry used was really high quality and rare in this country. I have tasted all kinds of empanadas and pastry overseas so I have something to compare it to(not trying to sound like a snob it just came out that way lol).\ In conclusion, excellent. The only suggestion I would make would be to make the store a little more cozy, an adornment or two. I also wanted to say these are not like typical Argentine empanadas, these are better. I’ve never been a fan of regular Argentine empanadas.

Great empanadas! The beef and chicken pot pie empanadas are the best and to wash it down with a real bottle of Coca Cola. Yum! I especially liked the lady dinning behind me who was making Nom Nom noises as she ate. That was funny!
