My name is Dick Waitneight, of Newport Beach, Ca. I am 77 years old, and a former high school and college football player with all the normal aches and pains of having played a contact sport and currently having more weight than I should. I had stenosis and some back joint issues, and growing back pain… slowly moving over my butt and down my right leg. My family Dr. strongly recommended Dr. Robert J. Jackson telling me about this dedicated professional who has a long track record of success. I was concerned about back surgery in any form, but I went and began the process. I was not easily swayed, and remained vigilant throughout the multi year process. Finally the incessant pain was a significant negative impact on my daily life, changing many normal actions. Yes, it was time ! Dr. Jackson’s team of Darin Johnson PA-​C, and surgery coordinator, Wida Razai, made the final steps of preparation clear and concise. Surgery was June 9^th 2014. The results were stunningly successful in my case ! The next morning in the hospital I realized I felt very different… relieved actually ! Soon I was walking the halls… they insisted with a walker, and I folded up the walker and carried it under my arm just to make the point. I felt great. The next day I was discharged and I insisted that I walk, yes, WALK, out of the hospital for the ride home. I can only tell you my story, and of my deep respect and appreciation for the professional skills and dedication of Dr. Robert J. Jackson and his wonderful team. I write this great review on Tues. Oct 7^th, almost exactly 4 months after the surgery. I am attending the scheduled physical therapy, [Jarrett Ortho. Rehab, Newport Beach], and every day I am reminded how very lucky I have been to have this level of medical care. My back feels and functions «as though I was a kid again «. We went in to see Dr. Robert Jackson and believe me, he is an amazing, smart, & highly skilled doctor! If you are in need of his services, I would trust him to get the job done well!
However, I had to give two stars solely because I had a bad experience with his front office staff. They were rude, cold, and downright unprofessional at times. While waiting in the waiting room, you can hear them talking loudly about their personal lives and gossiping about their coworkers! That I wouldn’t have minded so much had they been even a little nice and hospitable.
When patients go to the doctors, they’re usually already uneasy and probably in some form of pain. Having a staff as inconsiderate as this one only increases the patients’ misery and experience.
There are so many capable, intelligent, and much more kind people suitable for these jobs. I hope Dr. Jackson or any of his associates stumbles upon this review and the reviews of many others written online and implement some changes! There’s such an easy fix I this problem: either retrain your staff and teach them the importance of bedside manner, or let them go all together and find the thousands of other qualified workers that can do their job while maintaining their manners, professionalism, and kindness.
