My review is only for their avocado sandwich — it’s so good! It’s loaded, fresh, tasty and inexpensive. It’s vegan if you forgo the cheese and comes with a side of fruit or salad. I like it with the fruit as they give you a good portion of fresh and ripe fruit. The salad is fresh, but very simple with just lettuce and carrot. I’m also not sure if their Italian dressing is vegan because it’s the creamy kind. I’ve also had their veggie burger, but I didn’t like this as much. The veggie burger they use seems to be a very processed soy patty, so it didn’t seem healthful. Although they have a counter that you can eat at, it’s more of a to-go kind of place. They don’t have outdoor tables, but there are plenty of tables at the grocery store next door that I’m sure you could sit, however.

Been coming here for years! Great couple who owns the facility. Great food and shakes.

This is a small family-owned business. My husband and I enjoy the smoothies and sandwiches here for the fresh and healthy ingredients. We are both vegan and it is easy to request substitutions to accommodate vegan diets. My favorite smoothie is the Super Day Protein. It can be made vegan by using either soy milk or almond milk, AAD has both options available. The store is always clean and the couple that run the store are efficient and courteous.

The veggie burger they have is the only veggie burger I have eaten and probably the only one I will ever try. It’s awesome it doesn’t even taste like any sort of veggies. I’m not a vegetarian, but a friend got it for me and it’s life changing good. The uses are great as everything else here too.

I have only been for the smoothies, but the smoothie menu was not as healthy as I thought it would be. Yes, you could add in protein, wheat germ etc for $ 1 but a lot of the smoothies had ice cream and sherbert in them. I guess u can substitute for low fat yogurt. Definitely better smoothies than Smoothie King and cheaper(under $ 4 for a small and not as sugary). I got the tropical one because it didn’t have dairy(tropical fruit, apple juice, ice so pretty basic ingredients). It was pretty good. My bf got the Hawaiian Paradise(pineapple, coconut and banana) and he was satisfied. Overall, A Okay but I can make smoothies w basic ingredients at home. I looked at one of the multivitamin bottles and it was $ 70…yikes! I hope they are amazing multivitamins! Oh, and if your stuff is less than $ 13, they want cash, not card. I’d recommend Health Works for better smoothies/healthier choices.

I’ve been shopping and eating at AAD since Christ was a corporal — long enough to see owners and employees come and go. Currently, Ken & Suki own and operate this small, family run vitamin shop and health food deli. These folks are kind, very knowledgeable regarding vitamins & supplements and serve up a tasty Niguel Veggie Burger! Toasted whole grain buns, veggie pattie, fresh tomato, sprouts, soy bits(with a bacon flavor), mustard and cheese(optional), this burger is made to order and good! With a side of fresh fruit or romaine/cabbage salad the meal is a great value at approximately $ 8. A nice variety of shakes and smoothies with option of soy, rice milk or regular milk and nonfat yogurt or ice cream is on the daily menu board. Wheat grass is fresh squeezed — a la minute — for those looking to detox and purify the blood. A favorite shake of mine is the large«Super Day Protein No Dairy»…added coconut, of course. Sometimes I’ll order the Super Day Protein as my meal replacement. It is very satisfying. Although some shelf products are a bit overpriced, I don’t mind spending the extra money supporting a small, family owned and operated business!

This health food shop has a great selection of vitamins, minerals, and whatever else you may be looking for. Make sure you stop in for lunch or a smoothie in the back of the store. They make an excellent tuna or turkey sandwich and they also have several vegetarian options. Get your sandwich with«the works» which includes lettuce, tomato, shredded monterey jack cheese, bacon bits, and sunflower seeds. The sandwich comes with fruit or a salad on the side. I recommend the salad with honey sesame dressing.
