The Flame Broiler

Yuuuummmmm. This place is so yummy and fresh. I had great service and it was pretty fast as well. I got the world bowl with brown rice and I’m so satisfied. Healthy and fresh.

This flame broiler is so slow!!! I’m sitting here with my husband waiting for a mini bowl and a chicken plate and I have time to write this review. I go to another flame broiler location and they have the orders out very quickly. Not here! They finally brought the food out and said «sorry for the wait» What were we waiting for? There was no one else in the restaurant but us and the 2 employees. Oh well. Besides being slow, the food is good! Fresh and healthy. Just need to work on efficiency.

They were very nice when I came in. Asked me how my day was, talked about the weather, just small talk, but it was still nice after a long day at work. Fast friendly service, couldn’t ask for more.

I eat here a lot. The place is clean and the food is great. Cashier (Ismail) is super friendly and the service is fast. I recommend

Worked out at Lifetime on Saturday morning and wanted to get some chicken and rice after. The place did not open till 11 am so I waited. The young man/​manager opened a few minutes early and took my order. I did not have to wait. Turnaround time was quick and everything was tasty.
Service was great. Restaurant was clean. Everything was what I expected.

Are used to be a huge fan of this place. But it wasn’t until I was told that the food is precut and precooked and just heated there, the freshness factor went to zero. Since then, I have not been back. The food is tasty and healthy alternative but, after having mystery pieces of what I could assume to be bones found in the chicken, be careful

Don’t eat here! Let me start by saying no one washes their hands. The cook was sweeping the floor and went directly to preparing my food with the assistance of the cashier that took my money. Both people were handling my food. The cashier scooped the rice and the cook prepared the rest. She placed dried up pieces of meat on my plate. By the way this meat was sitting on the grill while she was sweeping. When I brought this to their attention their response was «We didn’t touch the food». Health department visit is needed.
I often eat at Flame Broiler but this is by far the worst restaurant that I have visited. I will not return. Very disappointing

This place needs to train their employees to be better at handling customer service. As I was placing my orders, I was being asked about choices on the place selection I’ve chosen. When the total came at the end, I asked the cashier why was the price higher than what’s on the menu. He said that it’s extra charge for the option I’ve chosen. If I’d been informed that there would be an extra charge for something, I would not have opted for it. Won’t be back to this particular Flame Broiler.

Frustrated that I didn’t use my 10% off before ordering for checking in, the service was confusing. Mostly the server spoke Spanish and I thought this was America. The food seemed like they didn’t spend enough time cooking the chicken. Overall I do think this franchise location understands the true concept of FLAME BROILER. I love the company but not this location. I will not be returning to this spot. 2 stars

I love this place! Healthy food, healthy portions, and this location always has great service! Someone please tell the owner their staff is doing great work!

Been eating at flame broiler for years, but I’m somewhat new to this location.
I always order the chicken bowl, but this location it’s extremely fatty chicken. It kind of grosses me out. Also, there was a pretty large bone in my chicken to go order the other day. Makes me think they are being really careless with their chicken preparation. The next time I went in I told the cashier, «Hey FYI, last time I ate here there was a bone in my chicken. Just FYI.» She’s like, «OK. Last time?» I said, «Yeah, I’m just letting you know.» Then without any visible reaction, she just says, «OK. Thanks. Next person in line?»
I wasn’t looking for a free lunch, but you know, if I’m eating the chicken and it feels so fatty and there’s bones in there and you don’t seem to care when I tell you that are you giving me the chicken’s butt to eat too? All she had to do was give me some reassurance that this shouldn’t happen and they would let the kitchen staff know to be more careful, but nope.

Pretty decent food, okay service. I like coming here because the food is affordable and filling, so I always have some left over, even if I get a mini bowl. The food is good – great chicken, great beef, great half and half. I like that you can choose your rice and if you’d like onions.
My issue is the service here kind of sucks. The people seemed like they didn’t want to work there. I’ll still go for the food (and the magic sauce!), but I wish the employees seemed a little more excited…

I ordered a bed of veggies with half chicken and half beef. Deep down I really wanted rice but I had to keep my protein up for the day. This place is tucked away in a shopping center walking distance from my home and I don’t come here more often… why?! The portions of the two meals I ordered were very generous and tasty. The other meal was a rice bowl with half chicken half beef. Between the two bowls we only found one piece of gristle on the beef which was impressive. I’ll be back. I appreciate that this business is family run and it appreared there was a boy there working with special needs which that in itself is changing my original 4 star rating to a 5 star. Take that Laguna Niguel! You’ll be seeing more of me. And thank you to the owner for honoring the Unilocal 10 percent when toy check in on Unilocal off my order. Your daughter is adorable and very efficient and helpful. She loves what she does which to her is playing and working and growing up and figuring out the world by being helpful but she’s benefitting the restaurant. I could tell she genuinely loved helping out with forks and napkins and sauces, so sweet!

I’ve eaten at many Flame Broilers, as I can’t resist a hearty bowl of chicken and rice. However, last night I ate at this location, and was sadly disappointed by the portion of meat served in my bowl. At my local FB (as well as all the many others that I have frequented), the meat-​portions are always generous to where the meat is well above the rim of the bowl. I always leave satisfied after an FB chicken bowl.
Not this time. The meat was very sparse and below the rim. There was space between the meat chunks where you could see veggies/​rice between. In fact, I would say that there was less meat than what is typically served in a mini-​bowl. What made it worse was watching the Flame Broiler employee on her break eating a bowl with meat piled high and overflowing from her bowl… the way mine should have been portioned. To her credit, she wasn’t the one that prepared my meal. Maybe if it had been her, she would have prepared mine the way she likes it.
For just a few pennies shy of $ 7.00 (regular bowl only — no drink), I feel that I should have left with my appetite satiated. Instead, I left hungry and had to eat again when I got home. Should have gone to Wahoo’s or In-​N-​Out instead.

I’ve been going to Flame Broilers ever since they started popping up years ago and never had any problems, except occasionally, the chicken is a little dry.
At this location, though, it wasn’t dry chicken. The chicken was so fatty, i couldn’t eat it… made me gag!
Another reviewer said this is a recent occurrence. Today was my first time here… and last. Will need to find another location. :-/

Flame Broilers are always pretty consistent. This one had really great service. The gut at the counter Ismail was very helpful and polite. Place was decorated for the holidays. Good food and and good atmosphere. Didn’t forget to Check In when you get here and get a 10% discount! BONUS!

Ismail was super friendly taking my order. The inside was clean and festive for the holidays. Table was sticky but overall good experience.

I tried Flame Broiler for the first time last week. After my first bite, I was planning my next visit!
I’ve been back twice. The food is hot & delicious, the store is clean & bright and the staff are always friendly & helpful!
I wish I could get coupons since it’s kind of expensive. I would eat there every day if the price was a bit better! A large drink, a Half & Half bowl and a $ 1.00 tip is $ 10.50.
They don’t have gift cards — boo! My original reason for going was to buy a friend a gift card but was bummed to find out they don’t sell them.
Also HATE the plastic bowls they use. Wish they would find some eco-​friendly options. If anyone with any pull ever reads this, check out
for some possible solutions.

Simple healthy good. I get the chicken veggie with brown rice and it is fast filling and cost effective. This location makes it simple to swing in and out quickly. This location has a green hot sauce that is pretty flavorful and very HOT!
