I booked an afternoon snorkeling trip with them, which they canceled without notice. After I called them and discovered this, they told me I could get on the longer(re: more expensive) trip the next day. When I called them to confirm, they informed me that they booked the trip and it was now no longer available, making this the second time they happily held my money on a trip they wouldn’t deliver. Avoid this inept and inattentive staff.

We stopped in to rent snorkel gear during our trip. The guy who helped us was very knowledgable. He fitted us with fins, masks, and snorkels. He even gave us the anti fog solution. He also gave us a map and showed us where to go. The gear worked great. We also rented an underwater camera. The camera we rented didn’t work after 6 pictures. When we took the gear back, they gave us a full refund and apologized for any inconvenience. We also had kept the gear an extra day. They didn’t charge us for the extra day on the gear. This business is a great example of how you treat a client.

Had a great time with my family today thanks to Maui Dive shop. The staff was super nice and helpful. Rentals were fairly priced and the crew set up all of the gear for us making the start of our trip easy-breezy. In between our first and second dive, lunch was served on the boat. And while you are diving, the crew has underwater photo equipment to get some really great shots(we purchased a CD of the photos afterwards).

If you’re staying at one of the hotels along Kaanapali beach, walk over to this little hut near Leilani’s. It’s best place to get your snorkeling gear for the week!!! It’s cheap if you rent it for the whole week. Bobbie was working and was really helpful and can answer all kinds of questions about anything on Maui. She helped get our daughters(first time snorkelers) fitted with the right masks, fins, snorkels, as well as a flotation belt for one and flotation vest for the littler one. She gave us a fish guide and anti-fogger for the masks. A great experience all around. Highly recommended.

Spent several hundred dollars on masks, fins and snorkels. I then discovered the next day that something was broken. When I took it back to the shop to exchange it. They were extremely rude and condescending, suggesting that I had broken it, when in fact it appeared to be a defect in the equipment, and they refused to exchange it. I would never recommend this company to any one and suggest that you never buy anything from them.

The store at the marina feels very generic. I assume it is the same in all the chain Maui Dive Shop stores. Basic essentials for diving and plenty of souvenirs to buy. The diving was also fairly basic. It felt very routine going to two sites near Lani. Most of my diving experience has been in Fiji and its hard to compare the coral and marine life to the rich and vibrant underwater scene in Fiji. All said and done I belive the dive was worth the money as the staff was constantly making us laugh. Something that we’ll always remember was seeing two humpback wales surface and dive in front of our boat.
