We came here before the magic show to get some drinks and relax. It was busy! The bartender wasn’t very friendly though, I felt like I was bothering her or something. Our drinks just tasted like slurpees and honestly, we couldn’t taste any alcohol. My husband just ended up throwing the last bit of it away. On top of all this, of course the drinks weren’t cheap. However, I did like the plentiful seating and the short walk to the beach.

Great Happy Hour 3−4pm Maui Monday Dirty Colada $ 6.00 for me and burger with fries for my friend. Old Hawaii style at the most Hawaiian Hotel on the Westside. Listen to the Luau music and get ready to watch a Ka’anapali sunset! Free music and Hula Show when it is not Luau night.

We were a party if four adults looking for a relaxed evening of cocktails and friendly conversation… We took one of the small round tables next to the bar and put the umbrella up for a little shade… BIG mistake! The bartender rushed over and very aggressively started shouting at us for putting up the umbrella! We asked politely why this was not allowed, he said it was too windy… But all the umbrellas were up at the other tables we said so why is ours different? Oh well he went crazy shouting at us and generally being shockingly rude… This guy should not be in the service industry!(Bartender with an accent on Saturday August 1st at just before sunset) the star goes for our actual waitress who was nice and the drinks were good… Note to management«Send this bartender to Aloha school before he scares more customers away»

This place is God awful! I don’t understand who is giving these good reviews for this place??? But from what I could guess it must be some really old people that like really weak and tasteless drinks because it is easier on their taste buds. Please avoid this place and go somewhere else instead, you won’t regret it

Went here twice. The first time we got mai tais, I only needed two and I was set for the night. They are strong and good! I walked up the next night to get a drink for my husband and I to share. I had to show my ID since I look so young and either the bartender didn’t think my ID was real or there is such a small amount of alcohol you can’t even taste it.

The best tiki bar on Maui, maybe? … ANDIT’S A HOTELBAR, YOUGUYS I mean, I’ll admit… we were only on the west coast of the island and only for a short while. But I did my homework, people! I used Unilocal!I take tiki drinks seriously! I’m yelling sort of, I think! Without caps even! Anyways. Tiki culture is a weird thing. It’s an appropriation of Polynesian culture that originated in California in 1934.(That doesn’t mean the culture and the drinks aren’t fascinating/delicious, though.) It just means that«authentic» tiki origins don’t really exist geographically. I mean, they do in California I guess, but I think you get what I’m trying to say. One can find delightful tiki drinks in the most unlikely of places — see also, Foundation in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, etc. — and one might also not find delightful tiki drinks in the most(seemingly) likely of places — see also, Maui, Hawaii. We had a number of Mai Tais and«tiki» drinks during our Hawaiian excursion.(To be fair, we only visited two islands and I’ve heard there’s this one great bar on Kauaii.) But of the drinks and the spots we tried, this spot stood out the hardest based on quality of the drinks themselves as well as offerings. (It was hard to find. It’s sort of mis-labeled here on Unilocal. It’s the Tiki Bar at the Kaanapali Beach Hotel. I’m going to try to fix that after I finish this review. Edit business info, amiright?) So the Mai Tai was fine — though no Orgeat(WHAT) and not enough lime, just keepin’ it real — but the standout on their list was the«Tropical Itch.» $ 12 + it’ll getchya drunk, promise. Plus it’s fun and huge and it has bourbon in it, too. AND it comes with a backscratcher. Kitschy. I like that sometimes. Our bartenders were nice and the ambiance was correlational to the theme. Some bros rolled up post-last call and still got served. Not like THEYGOTSERVED, but they got drinks. I think you’re picking up what I’m putting down. Open-air/outdoors near the pool behind the Kaanapali Beach Hotel, this little tiki shack of a bar was easily the closest thing we could find to solid tiki status during our trip. Every other effort paled by comparison.

Best Tropical Itch in the world!!! Every trip to Maui includes a trip to Kaanapali Beach to have dinner and then walk down the beach to the Kaanapali Beach Hotel’s Tiki Bar for drinks while enjoying the live music. You can”t beat this for a great evening. But did I tell you about the Tropical Itch? These drinks are memorable because they come with wooden back scratchers in them, but that is not the reason to get one. They are wonderful and strong. Beware of having two of these if you have to drive afterwards. A trip to Maui without a trip to the Tiki Bar is not complete!

This bar is perfect if you’re staying at KBH. The Mai Tais are some of the best I’ve ever had. Yes they definitely cater to ohana(family of KBH). Stay at the hotel for several vacations and you’ll feel like family too.

It’s ok if you like to wait for drinks. The bartender(some old dude) would keep taking orders for people he recognized first, so if your not a regular dont expect to get served without loudly coughing or gesturing! The waitresses are good and taking a table is probably the best way to go. Food is just ok.

I have a great fondness of Tiki bars so was excited to find out there was one next to the Sheraton. We came for happy hour at around 4:30. They offer one happy hour drink for around $ 6. It was pretty good but not strong at all as the other reviews seemed to indicate. We ordered a chicken sandwich and the calamari. Both were just wretched. The waitress was sweet. I could see this place being fun for drinks later on in the evening when it maybe picks up a little. The hotel it’s in is fun to see because you feel like you’ve been swept back to the 1980s as it’s apparently not corporately owned and retains a strange charm. I would avoid the food.

This place was«okay» but I was a bit disappointed based on what I read. It’s in a dark area and a bit hard to find at night. We arrived there and the show /music had ended(even though it was pretty early, like 9:00). 9:00 on a Friday and a good bar should really just start to get jumping. We only stayed for one so in fairness, maybe it kicked back up after we left. The Kanapali Beach hotel you walk through to get back to it was pretty drab and uninspired. The folks at the bar looked a bit trashy. Maybe I caught them on a bad night. Not a bad place to hang outside. Plenty of seats.

Drinks were a little overpriced and the crowd definitely is a little bit older but overall a cool place to grab a drink and chill out. They do close early like most bars in Maui which is a real drag. Try the pot stickers and if you order a lava flow make sure to float an extra shot on the top as they are not very strong. Ask for Dale he makes the best drinks on the Island!

Have Chantel hook you up with a top shelf Margarita on the rocks. Only she knows how to make it. Guaranteed you’ll only be able to drink two and then it’s lights out! If you drove here, then you better have a designated driver. If you’re staying here then drink three, :-) They also have the best Mai Tai’s on Ka’anapali Beach. Music /Hula nightly from 6 – 9. It’s an older crowd but hey, who wants a bunch of kids running around anyway?. You’re on vacation. Lots of locals here too. Saddle up to the bar and let your troubles vanish into the night.

Our second night at the beautiful Tiki Bar. A bit hidden, 100 yards off the path. Great drinks. My wife fell in love with the Piña Coladas. Fantastic nightly music and Hula dancing. A memorable experience.

An honest must go/must see place for me was a true Tiki Bar in Hawaii. I don’t know, maybe two many TV shows or old movies, I just completely related visiting a tiki bar with our Maui vacation. This little hut was exactly what I was looking for. After laying out on the beach and snorkeling at Kannapali bay I told my wife we have to go to the tiki bar. We had a great day at the beach, saw some sea turtles while snorkeling — now it was time for a drink! This is the coolest little bar ever. So it might not be anything super special, but they honestly had the best Mai Tai on the island. Yes, I know all my reviews say«this is the best Mai Tai on the island» — But this honestly was! It is a rather small outside bar with seats wrapped all the way around. They had some beers on tap from Maui and Kona Brewing and there is a little hut right across the walkway that serves food. Great place to grab a drink if you are in the area or spending the day at the beach in front of the resort here. Probably not worth driving to if your not nearby!

(Drank 01÷12÷12TH): A bar close to the beautiful white sand beaches of the resort area of Ka’anapali with a clear view of the ocean… yes, please! A friend and I were in Maui for the day as one of the port stops on a 14-day Hawaiian Islands cruise. A longtime friend of mine had moved out to Maui years ago and I haven’t seen him since high school, so we made arrangements to meet and catch up. The Tiki Bar seemed like a perfect place! It was a mid-January afternoon, so the place wasn’t too busy. Situated on the grounds of the Ka’anapali Resort Hotel, we walked along the walkway coming from Black Rock and grabbed ourselves a high table. We weren’t interested in any food or pupus at the time… just something fruity to drink. Thanks to my friend on Maui, he treated us all to some tasty sweet mai tais(he paid so no prices noted). I love making mai tais at home, but it definitely tastes a whole lot better when you’re sipping on it while gazing out towards the ocean with the cool and salty breeze blowing at you, shirtless, and not a care in the world. I wish I’d asked how they make theirs. Again, we didn’t order any food, so unfortunately, this review is somewhat incomplete by my standards. Maybe it’s a reason to visit again real soon! For what it’s worth, the service was good, as we got our drinks quickly. Plus, we were the only ones at the time. It looked like you park at the hotel itself(as my Maui friend did), and it appeared there was sufficient parking. Don’t know how much it is though. Overall, I found paradise at the bottom of my mai tai while chillaxing with good company at The Tiki Bar. I imagine they make other amazing drinks, and from the aroma coming from the grill close to where we were sitting, the food may be just as good. The only seating I saw was outdoor, but come on, you’re in Hawaii, why would you want to be indoors?! And of course, all is casual, as we were all in boardshorts, flops, and shirtless. And although I didn’t pay, they accepted my credit card of choice… AMEX!

I don’t know why the Tiki Bar isn’t getting more love on Unilocal… It’s awesome!!! For the nay-sayers who say it isn’t authentic, get real… Nothing in Maui is! Everything is a huge tourist trap, and the sooner you except it, the better your trip will get. Now, if you are staying close to the Tiki Bar, do yourself a favor and mingle with out of towners and locals here. We had such a fabulous time we came back two nights in a row… Say hi to Dale, and be friendly, he’ll hook it up with stiff cheap drinks.
