I use to frequent this place more often before the newest owners. I started coming less because there are less choices. The honey wheat is still very good, but today the choice was white, wheat or cinnamon. Wow. So I ordered their famous ham and Swiss. I’m usually ever disappointed, but the sandwich which is $ 7.50 had like one piece of ham in it. Also, had to wait 10min to get it so when I have to wait and I’m hungry I want to see some meat in the sandwich. Not sure what has happened, but I won’t be back for a while.

I have been to this location twice in the last two weeks but I bet the employees never knew, or didn’t care if someone entered and left. The big problem for me is not being able see the fresh bread and know what it is «called». How can I form an opinion based on NO visual. The whole place smelled like cinnamon rolls I looked and EVENTUALLY found a board that listed the days loaves. After finding the silly neon board, I told the person behind the counter my menu plan and asked a question about a bread… she didn’t know. She said«It SHOULD have olives» . I bought one the advertised olives but stunk my whole car up like a cinnamon roll. I am not the only one that felt the crust of the«lager olive» loaf lacked olives and smelled of cinnamon. What a disappointment. It was way out of my way and budget to spend $ 6.75. The loaf was doughy in the middle, barely any olives and only as a chopped up topping, ANDWHENSERVED: EVENMY3 guests got the aroma of cinnamon«rolls». Waste of money… never again.

This store closes early on Sundays despite widespread advertisements indicating it is open until 7:00 p.m. They do not answer the phone, so there is no way to verify ahead of time whether they are open. You just go and arrive to find a handwritten note on the door.

This is where God goes for bread, if you were to ask me. everything is good, they give samples, and the bread is like a meal that stands on it’s own, it’s that good. They also feature other baked goods such as cookies, pastries, plus soup and cereal mixes, and espresso, of course. Best bread ever!

This review is strictly for the tuna sandwich I had here. I will most likely be returning to sample their baked goods and espresso because I want to give them a chance… But seriosuly, the tuna sandwich was horrific. Do not order it. Tuna was unseasoned canned chunk light… no white albacore? Why no seasoning??? No salt, no pepper, no mayo added. It tasted like tuna straight from a can. Some red onions and 1 slice of tomato and lettuce. That is all. I paid $ 9 because I wanted to support local business rather than head to Subway. Regretting that decision.

There are several shops for Great Harvest in the Seattle area. This location is easy to reach in the Lake Forest Park Town Centre with parking spots directly in front! We have a good friend that visits often from SFO. Before he returns home, we make a stop here(or in West Seattle) so he can pick up many loaves of a specific bread to ship back to his family who are addicted to their honey wheat loaves. The free samples are huge but I wasn’t a fan of the asiago pesto that I tried because it was stored near something with cinnamon. Let’s say those flavours don’t meld well. Other than that, I’ve had good experiences here. I do wish that they would keep the lobby/counter area cleaner. It takes a few moments to wipe counters down and clean the crumbs off. I rested my hand in something sticky and told the cashier who replied, «Yeah, I’ve been meaning to clean that.»

Avoid this place! If you want a good bakery go to the Bellevue great harvest. It is so worth the drive. I promise you’ll never go back to this dump again. I used to love this place! But it has gone literally to the dogs! Bellevue is where it’s at!

I love bread so much. Great harvest has some of the best bread I’ve had. They have a special grinder that grinds the flour finer than other bakeries which makes a softer bread(thanks 6th grade career day). All the breads I’ve had here are delicious and it’s great for lunch. They use local ingredients for the sandwiches. I suggest stopping here to at least try the products. The free samples are huge.

This place feels like it’s gone downhill. We ate here a couple of years ago before an annual event, and I remember the fresh pastries and nice sandwiches, and how pleasant the store was to sit and eat in. We returned today, and the place feels like it’s in need of a good cleaning — everything felt a little dirty, from crumbs in the display case to the partially worn off writing labeling the items on the case, to the tables and counters. It isn’t really inviting. The shop wasn’t busy when we were there, and the employees seemed to be doing a multitude of tasks — the person who took the order would then leave the cash register and go make the sandwiches. This wasn’t a huge problem given it wasn’t busy, but it added to the overall haphazard feel of the place. My daughter had a turkey sandwich and it was okay — way too much meat, as thigh they’re going for quantity over quality. It wasn’t bad, just nothing special. My friend had a scone that was fresh and tasty. I hope that we just stopped by on an off day. We liked this shop before, but I’m not sure we’d stop by again in its current state.

My buddy lives a few blocks from this location. My wife and I came here early on a Saturday morning. They were baking fresh bread and gave us a few fresh slices of there flagship wheat bread. It was sooo good!!! We bought a few scones, blueberry/ginger muffins, and the sunrise roll. All great choices to start the day!!!

Great harvest has bread so good that you’ll wonder how you ever enjoyed supermarket bread, ever. I reckon the bread is so fresh tasting because they mill their own grains right there in the bakery, you can tell in the finished product. A few of my favorite breads here are the Honey Golden Wheat, Cinnamon Swirl, and the seasonal stuffing bread. No fancy interior here folks but they don’t need it. The bread speaks for itself, and every 13th loaf is free! Awesome!

I am a fan of the bread, generally very good quality, flavor, and moisture content. I love the free samples they offer. I have never had one of the sandwiches. From the photos, the ratio of bread to innards doesn’t look like my type of sandwich where I really want much more content to bread. But this is a bread place so I can understand why they might think people want it that way. Love the cinnamon chip bread. Service has been good for me on my two visits to this place. Tonight actually I called to see if they had any gluten free bread, and she said they had one laoaf left. It was 5:30 and she said they were closed. But since they were still there, she let me drive down and pick it up. It turns out they had closed since they had sold out, possibly because it was shortly before a holiday. Still, I thought that was nice of her.

What can I say? The moment I walked in, I had a tear in my eye. I was almost speechless as I was hugged with the smell of baked goods. I remembered being a child on a wet Washington day, walking into my mom’s warm kitchen, and seeing the baked goods she’d slaved over. I walked up to the counter, mouth watering, and was greeted by a very cheerful employee. I ordered a breakfast item, which I’ve forgotten the name(due to my salivatory glands taking over) and happily checked out. Before I left, I was offered sweet bread with a rich butter for FREE. Right back to my mother’s kitchen, my senses went. I go back every chance I get.(Note: on Halloween they passed out samples, and I couldn’t resist pretending I was a kid) If I could work here, I’d be the happiest person alive. For now, I’ll just be getting breakfast.

Got a cinnamon roll when they were at the Edmonds Summer Market a few weeks ago. And all I can say is HOLYSHMAHOLYCINNAMONROLLHEAVEN. It was probably about 2,000 calories and I think I could only eat it a few times a year but that is what all cinnamon rolls should aspire to be. No frosting — just amazing dough(with wheat and white flour maybe?) and so much cinnamon sugar goodness. YUM.

Had terrible service here! I was very disappointed since this was my first time coming to great harvest. Came in and asked for a menu, «a menu for what?» I was asked in return. Umm I don’t know, maybe a menu for what you serve here. «I’ve never been here. What do you have?» «Oh well that’s the bread menu but we don’t have most of those» *points to a list of 6 bread choices* and then proceeds to not tell me what they DO have. I walk to another side of the counter and see *GASP* a sandwich menu. «Oh so you do have menu’s?» «Oh ya, we have sandwiches» I got a sandwich from another place in the mall instead.

Food is great BUT they only had one frantic not very friendly girl working the counter who didn’t offer a slice of bread or a menu which is what every other great harvest does. Watched 5 people come in, wait in line and leave because it took so long. Clearly this is a staffing issue and not the individual working. I’d be stressed out if I worked there alone during lunch time :(hope the owner/manager sees this!

Free samples yeah I’m all over that. Today is the first time I bought a sandwich there $ 9.50 for a sandwich it’s not even a big sandwich. The bread was cut unevenly and very dry. The sandwich was assembled haphazardly by an employee that really didn’t like this part of her job. The meat seamed as if it were out of a package of Carl budding. What a huge disappointment I will stick with the free samples of bread slathered in butter. If you don’t want to put any effort into sandwiches quit taking $ 10 away from people for a crap sandwich.

If, like me, you’re a sucker for bakeries, this is your heaven. Sure, it’s a small place, but the fare is so fresh and good, you kinda forget that the actual venue is nothing special. The aroma of breads baking is enough to get you in the door, and once there, the folks behind the counter will offer you a sample of fresh bread and — trust me on this one — you are HOOKED. It’s like crack.(Is this even legal!!!). I came in to check out the menu and was given a liberal slice of thier«whole grain goodness» bread with butter. How on earth am I supposed to go back to store-bought breads after that? It was delicious. Then I had a «California Cobb» sandwich which was so filling, I should have shared it. But NO! Too good to share! And I also got a slice of lemon pound cake, too, and what can you say? It was fantastic. Bought the Cinammon Chip bread, which my kids liked, but in the past, I purchased the Cinnamon Swirl bread which is superior(more cinnamon-y, for sure), so will know to get the Swirl only in the future. The gal behind the counter who helped me yesterday was super friendly and, even though the place was hopping, she still was able to multi-task, chat, and be pleasant(a rarity in places these days). I’ll be sure to return here whenever I’m in the area. For sure.

Do they put crack in their bread? Ok maybe they don’t, but it’s making me addicted to it! I’ve only been here once to buy a loaf of their Wade’s Wheat bread, which is another name for their honey wheat. It has a rich flavor that is slightly sweet that keeps making me want more every time I devour a slice. I paid $ 5.75 so it is a bit pricey, but their bread is organic and made with no preservatives. This also means that it will go bad quickly so be sure to finish the bread within a week! I also wanted to try the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl that Chelsea J. mentioned in her review, but they were currently out until the next 2 days :( I would have given them 5 stars if it wasn’t for their lackluster service. I noticed that they had a piece of bread near the front of the store that was supposed to be for sampling, but I didn’t know at that time so I wasn’t able to try some. I also had to ask for a stamp card while paying. Maybe it was near the end of the day and the employees had low energy. Who knows, but I would appreciate some better service next time I come here. That reminds me, I need to finish the bread soon…
