Sabrosada

Sabrosada is a great place for extremely affordable, and extremely delicious mexican food. The typical mexican lunch items are good, but the real magic happens in the morning — BREAKFAST BURRITOS. Ask for a couple extra salsas and prepare for burrito bliss. They also have a drive-​through and the staff always meets you with a smile. Great spot.

Ordered street tacos 2 carne asana, 2 chicken, 2 al pastor, and a chimichanga wet. The tortillas were dry, the meats were bland and flavorless. It was so disappointing we couldn’t stomach eating more than a few bites. It was the worse Mexican food we’ve ever had.

This placed changed their name, but kept their old reviews on Unilocal. Tried the drive-​thru at 12:30 PM. 15 minute wait in line. Had the enchilada combination. It was cold and very generic with a lot of American cheese. You’d do better at Del Taco. No hot sauce offered. Tiny napkins so bad choice for a drive through. Sauce was mild and okay but cold Mexican food doesn’t cut it.

I was craving good Mexican food, but wanted to take home rather than dine in. Sabrosada was recommended by a friend, so the hubby and I thought we’d give it a shot. We were pleasantly surprised that there was a convenient drive thru.
We both ordered the Super burrito and chips with cheese and gauc. The service was fast and the prices are great. The burrito was huge and so good, exactly what I was craving. This is definitely our new go to place for awesome, fresh Mexican food!

1) Took a long time for order to come out.
2) Carne asada in the burrito was dry and flavorless.
3) Pollo asado in the quesadilla was plentyful… BUT again dry and flavorless. The chicken was also diced up so small, it almost resembled ground beef.
«New name, same…» I think not.

They completely got the whole order wrong.
1. We asked for hard taco Carne asada. Gave us soft tacos.
2. Missed the flour tortillas that was suppose to go with the carnitas plate.
3. Charged us for a soft drink and we had to ask for it.
The food is usually good here, just wish they would get their act together and provide the order right.

Great food! Great quality meats especially compared to the other Mexican restaurants in town!
Tacos are big and a lot of guac for no extra cost!
I usually get the California burrito. Fresh ingredients! Go there! Do it!

For 1am in the morning it served its purpose. I had the chilaquiles. I was hoping for so much more. The chips were soggy right from the start. The eggs were scrambled and mixed in instead of fried on top. The green sauce was amazing though. The El Pastor tacos my friend had looked great. For after party food it was just fine.

Being from Los Angeles + being Mexican…
I can verify that this place is legit.
If you’re like me and super finicky about Mexican food then I can guarantee you’ll like this place. My husband and I have lived, nearby, in Aliso Viejo for 2 years and could never find any good authentic Mexican. I’m forever craving the food of my people but always waited ’til we went home to indulge. Who knew it was just a little down the ways in Lake Forest?
Anyway, we had the super fries and carne asada burrito. Both were pretty great. (see pictures) The menu isn’t overpriced at all. (ANOTHER REASON I KNEW IT WAS LEGIT) In the great words of Arnold, I’LL be back!

Did they get a new owner or chef? The carnita fries aren’t nothing like they use to be. This was my favorite place to get them! But they went down hill! So sad, barely get any fries or cheese. And the meat is so dry! I miss the old alertos. Anyways, no more business with us here. :(

Awesome cheap burritos. Decent size and quality and sauces are bomb.
It’s in the intersection right by guitar center. It has electronic menus. Oh yeah, and there is a 5 dollar minimum in order to use a credit card.

Let’s be real… we live in Southern California. Unhealthy, fast, spend a little-​get a lot type Mexican joints are a dime a dozen for us. I won’t BS you guys, when I walked into Sabrosada, that’s exactly what I thought I was getting. And I wasn’t wrong… but in a really good way.
Yesterday for lunch, I really wanted taquitos. If you’re familiar with my reviews, I pretty much always want taquitos, haha. Anyways, my coworker suggested checking out Sabrosada. It’s super close to my work, so that’s where I headed.
It was shortly after the lunch rush but they were still busy. And unfortunately, short staffed. However, it didn’t seem to stop the guy and girl behind the counter. Yea, they were a little all over the place… but they got the job done. I placed 2 separate orders, one for me & one for a coworker. Within 10 minutes (probably a little less) I had both of our orders & was out the door.
I had the taquito plate and a fish taco & my coworker had the 2 cheese enchilada combo. Both came with huge portions of rice & beans. I can honestly say it was exactly what I wanted it to be! I may ask for no pico next time on the fish taco, because the onion was just a tad overwhelming. But, I also am not a fan of raw onions, so please, do you when you order! My coworkers food looked amazing & she had more than enough for lunch again today.
The guac is obviously made fresh because there were big chunks of avocado in it; definite points to Sabrosada there. A few reviews I read talk trash about their guac but personally, I thought it was good. It’s a little plain, so if you’re missing tomatoes or onions, I say just toss a scoop of pico on top, easy peasy. Salsa bar checks out with 4 different types of hot sauces, spicy carrots and lime wedges.
The employees were super friendly even though you could really tell it was a rough day for them. I appreciated their kindness towards the customers and how they were working together to get orders in & food out quickly.
This may not be the best Mexican food you’ll ever have. But if this kind of joint is what you’re in the mood for, I assure you they will do the trick & more! Not even going to lie, I’m going back for there lunch again today!

My husband and i came here through the drive thru for lunch. I got a wet super burrito which was huge the size of my forearm and very filling and pretty tasty. My husband order the super fries but when we opened it it was super nachos we weren’t near by to take it back otherwise we would of. I like that they give you all the stuff on the side for the nachos so that way you can add what you want. Will be back for sure but next time will double check the order before leaving drive thru.

Oh how I love hole-​in-​the-​wall tasty, cheap, and traditional Mexican food! This place was a random pit stop, as it was the only place around open so late, and we were pleasantly surprised.
I ordered the carne asada which comes with a plethora of sides including pico, guac, tortillas, sour cream, lettuce, & Mexican rice. Super tasty & loved the seasoning of it.
Final Verdict:
If you’re in the area, and especially in need of a late night food stop, this is deifnitly your place!

I’ve been here now 4 – 5 times. It’s not too bad. I wouldn’t say it’s great and it’s not bad either. I seem to come back lately for the carne asada super nachos. I think my last 3 trips here I got those, so maybe they are pretty darn good. I seem to crave them. The food is all pretty good, I’ve had the chorizo breakfast burrito, the regular breakfast burrito and it was good as well. Although the breakfast burrito you’ll need some kind of salsa or pico to put on it, it’s a bit plain and needs just a little more. The food is always hot and fresh. If you’re just craving Mexican food and you want something fast, this is definitely a go to place.

After a day trip in LA, we wanted to stop at a Mexican place on the way back to SD. It was pretty late at night already and I did a few Unilocal searches as we were driving back down. Sabrosada eventually showed up and I liked that it was open until 2am (on Sunday!). It was coming up on our route so we exited and found it right off of the freeway.
There’s a neat little drive-​thru but we opted to dine-​in and take a little food break. I ordered carne asada fries and bf ordered a wet California burrito. Food was cheap! About $ 6 for each of our items. Cheap, big orders and gooood. My fries and his burrito were both meat heavy. There was a lot to get through and I eventually left a few bites of my fries (I ate all the fries though, just left some meat). The fries seemed fresh and were very salty! Love salt. We eventually just took home half of the wet burrito for leftovers.
If I could come back, I would, but I’m rarely in that area lol. I liked their extensive and cheap menu and that they stay open so late.

I work very close by here. The first two times I visited, it was called Alertos. It was okay. I didn’t appreciate that one time I could order veggie tacos and the next time I couldn’t.
Fast forward to last week when I visited with my coworker for lunch. I would give Sabrosada 3.5 stars if I could. I ordered a fish taco which was $ 3 and change. It was huge! And very good! I’m funny about seafood, but this fish was fried nicely — not too greasy — and there was a LOT of it in there, especially for the price! I also ordered a potato taco. A lot of places don’t have these. It was pretty good! Not as good as the fish taco, but I would order it again.
Good prices. Very filling for a piggy like me.
I don’t really like the «salsa» they give you tons of without asking if you want it. But I will definitely return to try more menu items.

Sabrosada is your basic Alberto’s. The tacos are pretty good, and one is filling enough to make a complete lunch if you’re not a big eater. They serve up some full corn tortilla shells with heaping meat, lots of tasty fillings, and use a double tortilla like their smaller, street taco cousins. Their salsa are pretty good too, basic, what you’d expect, and I really enjoyed their habanero salsa. Not too hot, but enough heat for sure, and tangy too.
Carne asada: Again, a big, filling taco. The meat is well-​seasoned but expectedly tough and chewy, typical of an Alberto’s. The meat is diced small though, so it’s not an issue. They load the taco with just the right amount of tomato, onion, cilantro, and guacamole, so adding salsa is just an option. It has plenty of flavor without it. $ 3.19.
Potato: This is one of their cheap tacos, at $ 1.39. They put some mashed potato on the bottom, which had a lot of flavor on its own, but a bit on the salty side for me. The potato is orangish, so they are adding more to it than just salt. Atop this they add shredded cheddar cheese and lettuce, and it’s all served in a hard shell. (The hard shells don’t travel well, so yo want to stick with eating their hard shell tacos there, rather than letting them get soft during transport.) I thought these were just okay, and my wife said they were like eating air, because the top is all lettuce. Hey. It’s just a buck 39, and a full shell, so not a bad deal.
Al Pastor: Also a big taco, like the carne asada, and also $ 3.19. Lots of earthy dried pepper flavor in this one. I only had one bite, being full, but can’t wait to eat it later. Pretty aggressive flavors without the unnecessary heat, and again, lots of accompaniments to make it a tasty taco.
Beef: Well I didn’t try these. My son had two, and really liked them, and he’s pretty picky about his tacos. So they must have been at least okay. $ 2.79.
Carnitas: Again a $ 3.19 taco, and again big on meat. I only had a bite of this as well, and liked it enough again, to look forward to eating it later.
Overall, if you like Alberto’s, this will satisfy your craving. Of course better food is out there, but sometimes you just want the familiarity of what you know and are in the mood for. I’ve been to Alberto’s and Alberto’s clones with much worse food, so I guess I’ll be back to try more of their food besides tacos, especially since my kids were happy with the food.
Service is good, fast, and friendly, and they have a drive-​thru. Place is clean too.

Over the years this establishment has changed names soo many times and has offered a few different kinds of food, every time I’ve been here the food has always been alright and decently priced.
They have a drive thru too so grab it if your coming down El Toro!
Their California burritos have the salsa inside and it was grilled that kinda surprised me because not many Mexican places around here do that.
The salsa inside my burrito was better than any of the other salsas at the salsa bar but their verde one was pretty good and added more zest to all that is Cali!
They also offer free drink refills on sodas so just ask them to filler up if your still thirsty but if you wanna refill on any of the delicious Mexican drinks you going to have to throw down some coins.
The people who work here were mellow and helpful so that’s defiantly a plus for the new name of names!
The real question is how long will this name last and what might it change to next?

I was very disappointed. My husband and I shared the Carne Asada burrito and the Carne Asada Fries.
It’s very greedy and bland. Did they forget to put seasoning on the meat?
And it was also very greesy too…
The guacamole tasted like it was mixed with some filler. It didn’t taste like it was all avocado.
The fries didn’t even get a chance to drain their oil. It was like it was fried and the frying oil went with it too!
The salsa. The salsa was bland too. The Pico de Gallo salsa tasted funky.
2 stars for being open late in this area.
