Being local, we wanted sushi for dinner & by many recommendations from others, we stopped in here to pickup on our way home. The girl who took our order was extremely rude, rushed me as we were looking over the menu, my kids wanted something so I was trying to look at something for them(not sushi roll related), and the girl snapped saying it was lunch menu only(I didn’t seem to notice the wording on the top of the menu as I had four little hands all over the menu, relax lady calm down). We ordered 3 spicy tuna rolls & a basic salad and added avocado. The salad, at almost $ 4 without avocado, was a measly iceberg lettuce & shredded carrots combo. Definitely not worth more than 50 cents! The avocado was a generous portion and very fresh. However, the sushi rolls, did not taste good at all. It was not spicy tuna, they didn’t put a spicy sauce on top like they usually do everywhere else, & half of the rolls looked & tasted like they took tuna from a CAN and not fresh fish tuna! After the snotty attitude, the high prices, and the mediocre salad(minus the avocado), we will definitely not go back here. First and last visit!

This restaurant has pretty great sushi. So it’s unfortunate that the service isn’t equally as great. It could take an hour to get the check or your water refilled. I once found short black hairs in my sushi, which they were accommodating to, but I’ve rarely gone back since then. Funny choice in music. but I don’t mind throwback Backstreet Boys/Britney Spears, so I can’t complain.

Oh jeez. We ordered delivery 1 ½ hours ago. I called to see when the order is coming. The mean woman ISBAAACK! She told me the delivery man left 10 minutes ago then just hung up on me! What the hell?! This will DEFINITELY be the last time. STAYAWAY!!!

Very solid sushi place. My friend had the basil tempura and she enjoyed it… a little too much sauce. I had the eel and avocado… decent, but again too much sauce. Their complimentary green tea was perfect. Our soups were also very good.

great people, great food, great experience. byob sushi with a cozy feel to it and a staff that makes you feel comfortable. their specials are absolutely amazing. Even on Weekends when it seems pretty packed I’ve been seated almost immediately. overall great place and always please when you are craving amazing and interesting sushi.

We decided to Try Sushi Ku and see how it compared to Wasabi Bistro in Boonton. I’d say both places are comparable whether your dining in or out. The space is similar and the quality of the food is comparable. The Pork Gyoza at Sushi Ku was probably a little bit biggier and beefier so I’d give that one to Suski Ku. As far as the rolls go I don’t think I’d be able to tell one from the other place. Not sure how I’ll make my determination of where to eat in the future, both offer off street parking and are just as far from Montville. Tough call…

Their sushi is mediocre at best. Nothing fancy and not that good tasting. Honestly, shop rite’s sushi is much better. Used to order here a lot, dine in and delivery, but haven’t in a while. They’re not pricey but they’re not worth the money. Besides that, one of the waitresses, who appears to be high up in management, is extremely rude. She has no care for the customer. I’ve had her several times and she wouldn’t check on us until we were done and never offered refills. Also she would have an attitude if asking for custom orders– something as little as no eel sauce. Bottom line: don’t go there unless you want extremely cheap(tasting) sushi and mediocre service

We always love sushi kuu for our sushi. Mostly we take out, but today, Father’s Day, we decided to eat in. The waitress we had totally ruined our dining experience. She was so rude, from the start of the meal. So much so, I asked my husband if we could just leave. However, he really wanted sushi and wanted to stay local. So we stayed. The place was empty, so it wasn’t like she was super busy. She was just flat out rude…

I live in close proximity of this Sushi joint so I go frequently(2 – 3 times/month) and I must say, they are fantastic! Their Tuna Pizza is out of this world, no other sushi place I’ve been to makes it like they do! Sounds simple, but their fried rice dishes are so tasty! The sashimi is fresh, and they make some of these dishes look like real delicacies. They always have unique specials and they do make good suggestions whenever I’m unsure of what to get. The wait staff are very pleasant and although I’ve yet to have a problem with any dish, they always seem willing to fix a dish if there’s an issue. 5 stars!

I’ve lived in many parts of the world and have partook in sushi joints and this spot hits the spot for lunch. By far, they have he best crab Rangoon I’ve ever eaten. Ever. Sushi is great. Yaki udon is epic. Service is always great and the owner is great with remembering faces. I work in the area but live closer to NYC so I miss it on the weekends. Wish you guys would expand, Sushi Kuu.

If you are looking for ambiance don’t come here. But, it’s definitely good sushi! The waitress is the friendliest person… when you go in with two kids, but that doesn’t stop their sushi from being so good!

Food isn’t too bad, the service, however is. The waitress here is the epitome of failure at customer service. She is extremely nasty, keeps her service as quick, and effortless as possible and seems to be bothered by your attendance at the restaurant. I stopped coming here strictly because of her disgusting attitude. Today, I was in the area and figured I would give it another try — it’s been long enough right? Maybe she’s gone. NOPE! Still here, just as nasty. Won’t be coming back EVER!

So upsetting to write this well deserved bad review… My boyfriend Mike and I have been eating at Sushi Kuu for close to 5 years now and have never had a bad experience. However, last Sunday was so bad it prompted me to write this. For about a year now, I can’t eat rice. It really upsets my stomach. We have asked sushi kuu to make us rolls without rice. It was never a problem before. Apparently, last Sunday the waitress became a miserable tyrant, they got a new chef and customers couldn’t make special requests. We asked the waitress/owner for our usual no rice rolls, with a bunch of other normal, off the menu items, and she proceeded to flip out on us saying it’s virtually impossible to make the rolls without rice. Thinking that maybe she was having a bad day or a loss of memory, Mike decided to talk to the chef. The chef said he could make the rice-less rolls but the wacko waitress burst out of the kitchen, freaked out and says no. She yelled so loudly at the chef, the couple sitting at a booth near the counter jumped. It was embarrassing for both of us. We felt so uncomfortable but yet we still didn’t leave because we have been loyal customers for so long. WESHOULDHAVELEFT! The order was late. The sushi was mediocre and the serve didn’t get any better. The waitress clearly ignored us and the only way we even got the check when we were ready to leave was thanks to a nice young waiter who was clearly appalled by the waitresses actions. We had a gift card that we earned by spending $ 1000.(We earned 3 of them over a 3 year period with just the 2 of us going there) They won’t accept the card because the machine was broken. However, the same machine that they used to take our credit card magically worked. We won’t be going there again.

Love this place. Awesome sushi and sashimi. The yellowtail and jalapeño roll is very good. Jalapeño is fresh and crisp adding a nice heat to the roll and the yellow tail is light and refreshing. You can tell the ginger is fresh made. I normally do not eat or like the ginger at other sushi places but I loved it here.

This is a decent spot for a hometown dinner. I love that it’s BYOB, and we ordered the sushi boat which was awesome. Not the greatest sushi but not terrible either. I will return.

I ended up going to this sushi spot way to often, in the past 2 weeks I came 3 times! Service sucked terribly. I had to ask for water and silverware for myself. I had all my appetizers without silverware or water. I guess the more the familiar u are. the less they care.

The sushi is mid-grade but tasty enough. It’s not something to shy away from, but don’t expect the highest quality rolls you’ve ever had. I like the sashimi a lot more, but the cut of it(thickness) seems to change from order to order. We like using this place primarily for delivery, as they are quick and efficient, and have never gotten our order wrong. All the delivery people have always been personable. We do not generally dine in at Sushi-Kuu, however, as it is a bit small and crammed. This place competes with a restaurant across the street, but offers similar fare and quality. Of the two, I’d recommend the Kuu for your sushi delivery needs.

Fresh sushi that was made to order. The sashimi came in generous slices. The bento box was really filling and was definitely worth $ 20! The service was somewhat slow but I really can’t complain because they were busy and everything was being prepared fresh. Worth the wait!

Love the convenience and although I am no sushi expert I am a salad snob. Would it hurt to give us something more than a lump of iceberg lettuce and ONE slice of cucumber. Had the sweet potato roll nice change of pace.

I have never tried anything but the sushi here and I am a big fan. I have brought a couple sushi«snobs» here and they liked it as well. I recommend the Tuna Millennium and Salmon Carpaccio appetizers. Both my kids and some friends new to sushi loved them. They have a large number of specialty rolls that should fit anyone’s taste. I prefer the Aegean Sea roll which is salmon and tuna with soy paper and spicy crab on top. The sushi is solid and they have aji and live scallops on the weekends, which can tough to find in this area.
