Stay away from the Drive Thru. They consistently give you the wrong thing.

Sadly this Tommy’s location is and has been a huge disappointment. Frequently I’ve gotten hard buns, overcooked or recooked fries and pizza that has sat too long. Because I’m on the road a lot I keep hoping they’ll improve but that has not been the case

Love me some Tommy’s. Favorite hotdog place in McHenry county. However, if you’re new to the Chicago area or just looking for the best chicago dog out there… please go to Chicago. But I love this place as far as if I’m going to get fast food, which is a rare occasion. I enjoy just a hotdog with fries and a root beer — yumm.

This place is the ABSOLUTE FILTHIEST place I have ever been in. The floors appeared to have not been swept for quite awhile. Every table was dirty. And ladies, make sure you don’t have to use the bathroom. The walls of the stalls, just gross. The sink could probably give you a disease, and the garbage can that is in there was plain discusting. The young woman taking our order had Zero personality, as did the rest of the men. I will make that extra drive to Tommy’s in CL! And btw, in order to post this, I had to pick at least one star, however, if a negative star, that’s what I would have picked!

WOW WOW WOW! What a waste over priced frozen food and they call it a value meal lol for real? come on Tommy’s what happened to you! You give up on us? Or just cutting corners to line your pockets. I’m so thankful I don’t live out here we have way better food by me. I can go on but why bother it’s a Bust!

I live in the area. Food here was always decent enough to come back. Tonight I went to the drive thru. I ordered a LARGE coke and 2 slices of pizza. The girl taking my order heard me say large, but decided I needed a medium. She even acknowledged my order of a large. I got home to eat my pizza. Which was at LEAST 2 hours old. Not just unwarm but COLD, CHEESE was HARD, crust was like CARDBOARD. I drove back to return this pizza and I’m asked «what’s up bro»?
We’ll Tommy, or whomever owns this place. You’re clueless on how customers bringing you their business should be treated. Someone else will get my money. You’re selling people trash.
To the people working there this evening? Get used to it!

How can you give Tommy’s anything less than four stars?!? I can’t say I’ve ever been to this location. I’ve only been to throne on route 14 in Crystal Lake, but I love their Chicago diner atmosphere and it’s one of the best greasy spoons out there!

Awesome pizza puffs and beef sandwiches but they don’t give you nearly as enough gravy or Gardinere peppers as I would like

Skip this shit hole rude place at any cost. The staff is rude rude rude rude and petty. I ordered a $ 40 order and they over charged me for a two honey mustard sauces $ 1.20 when i complained the asshole would not refund me the difference so I said cancel the $ 40 order and he could care less if his store lost a $ 40 order. I used to order $ 140 per week from this store before this and the putz knew it. I have not ordered from the is store or visited the drive thru for a year since then but decided to give them another chance. He talked to me like shit that day and it left a bad taste in my mouth. It only took two orders for this low life to repeat his mistake a year later. I ordered a meatball sandwich yesterday. They charge $ 2.00 for a extra meatball yes $ 2.00 what a rip off. They justify it by saying there are 3 meatballs on the sandwich witch is over $ 6.00 to begin with so they divide the cost by three. HUH??? Anyway i ordered the extra meatball which did not come in the order. When I called to order another order the next day I mentioned that and HE WOULD NOT replace the fricken meat ball without talking the manager. I say over a meatball? Then the putz started screaming at me and told me never to call again and hung up on me. He is just a pion worker with NO authority to tell me never to call again. The corporate office doesn’t answer their phone and doesn’t call you back. They don’t even carry cans of soda. Go to papa servarios a block away. They are much nicer. Hey tommy’s stick your meatballs in your sack so to speak. Won’t be calling you ever again. Keep loosing customers and watch your potential profits go down down down. Yeah ever wonder why lately all you been getting is one star and people are telling other people to avoid this place listen to the ratings other meatball sandwiches good that’s about it every other experience this place sucks and now people are complaining it’s filthy just one more reason to avoid the shit hole well if you made it this far on my rant I just have one last comment nice job trying to defend yourself by leaving reviews by the restaurant owners and giving yourself five stars because you’re the only people lately that have next time when a customer calls not only once but twice get off your ass and call the customer back and act like you care even if you don’t FYI our office spent $ 350 a week in your store calling in deliveries and now we spend nothing real smart move corporate suicide

Skip this place. There are much better places within a half mile radius. For literally everything on their menu. The only thing I liked from their menu was their wings which are breaded and not sauced. They are quite large and if you order them inferno, quite spicy as well. This still is not enough because I prefer my wings sauced. Their burger is dry and bland. Fish n chips is decent. Their hot dogs are OK but why come here when Chicago Grill is not even a football field away? The nail in the coffin was once I came in probably 10 minutes before closing as I had just got off work and had no food at home. They would not let me eat inside the restaurant! I haven’t been back since.

Ordered a beef, thinking close to ports. No way. So dry no flavor actually pitched it aftet a couple bites.

Good hot dog joint. We like their dogs, the kids love the pizza (slices have gotten smaller), we like the beef. The gyro is small for the price. Meatball sandwich is pretty good.
They have daily specials, which is the way to go. Drink & fries included at a much better price.

I’m holding true to my Crystal Lake Tommy’s rating since I see very few if zero differences between the restaurants. I can possibly understand the discrepancies that other Unilocalers have written, but this was not true for my visit.
The food is great, the employees were nice, the restaurant was clean. I just wish that prices weren’t as high as they used to be, but it happens.

I’m updating my review because of the delivery service. We’ve eaten at Tommy’s a number of times and the ribs and pizza are good. We have even had delivery before without issue.
Tonight, we ordered delivery. They called back immediately to get directions which we gave turn by turn. After about an hour, my wife looked at her phone and saw a missed call. When she called she was told that the delivery man had been here and rang the doorbell several times. He didn’t as we have a loud doorbell and a dog that hears everything. The delivery guy finally came back and told my wife three stories, he had been here, he wrote the wrong address down and he didn’t want to knock loud and be obnoxious. He appeared to be impaired.
The food was cold. The fries were a soggy mess and the burger had an excessive amount of mayo making the buns a puddle which would have been a problem even if the food was hot and delivered in a timely fashion. The person on the phone was less than helpful.
We will NEVER eat at Tommy’s again!!!

Decent, nothing great. Just don’t get it delivered…

Love Tommys! Love the gigantic portions and their combos are deliciouis! Also love it when they have their ribfest! Whole rack w/​fries, garlic bread, and cole slaw for $ 8.95! Can’t beat that!

Compared to every other hot dog place in the area, this place rates last in my book. Quality of everything they use doesn’t seem to match up to their competitors. Dogs themselves, buns, and fries all finish last. Sorry.
Place is clean, though. Employees are nice.

Just average. I have their catering at family get togethers and I have never said to myself «you know I really have to recommend this place to someone».
On the other hand they do make suprisingly tasty beef. It has a little zip to it that you don’t always get.
Their barbeque wings arent really worth anything.
I can’t speak for their noncatering items.

I stopped in here for a beef because peeps said that this place was better then Portillos for a beef? Really? WTF! They must have been wasted because this place doesn’t compare at all for a beef.
The pizza looked good and I’ve had a hotdog from here before, but if youre looking for a quality beef sandwich, skip this joint and go to fradillos or drive an extra 5 miles to portillos.
Wont go back for a beef here, NO WAY JOSE!
