the Bookstore Plus

We were waiting for a table to open up at Smoke Signals and decided to check this place out. I am surprised it doesn’t have that many reviews. Went there with my daughter, the kids section is nice with a little tent for the kids to hang out in.
Great variety and staff was friendly. Also they don’t have a credit card minimum because the book I purchased was under $ 10.
I live out of state and unfortunately the local bookstore in my town didn’t survive so our family always makes an effort to support local bookstores when we travel. Don’t forget to check this place out!

I’m very glad to see a bookstore in Lake Placid, though I must admit if I lived locally, I would probably spend more time in their beautiful library. Don’t let the store’s narrow front fool you, once you enter, you will see it goes back quite a long way. The «plus» is primarily a variety of arts-​related supplies, a nice compliment to the literature. The magazine selection is not too large, but that probably makes sense, since you can also read or buy magazines at the library or the grocery/​drug stores — focus on what’s unique and that’s the books and art. When I was in the store, I also saw a lot of kids looking around at the books — any time you can get kids in a bookstore is a definite plus!
