great service, but found a hair in my ice cream and the meat loaf wasnt all that great. the corn also tasted like it was microwaved. i had tortilla soup which was probably about the only thing i actually like

Normally I like Max and Ermas. However my meal the other night was not good. It looked pretty on the plate though. I ordered the fish tacos. I had to search for the pieces of fish in the 3 tacos. It was a joke! There was so much shredded cabbage I thought I ordered cabbage tacos. I wanted to ask the waiter«where’s the fish?» But he was a nice guy so I let it go. I will NOT be ordering fish tacos any time soon from Max and Ermas!

Bartender felt that chit was more important than filing orders. Finally told server to forget my drink it took so long. Kitchen is running slow tonight. Bad experience tonight.

One of my favorite places to eat a burger HOWEVER, this location is the pits. They must pay bare minimum because these kids are not here for it. My top bun wasn’t toasted and my fries were not hot. I said pepper jack cheese and I got American. Sub par service. Won’t be back

The food here is generally OK and the service the same… So I’m not sure this is a complaint for this single location or for Max & Erma’s corporate philosophy. I tried the«Bodacious Bacon Burger» for the first time and I was a perplexed when it was served and took a bite… Where is the bacon? I talked to the server and they said the relish that I thought was a caramelized onion relish was actually a bacon relish… Really…I barely tasted bacon and it looked nothing like the menu pic… That looked like it was loaded with bacon… Not so much the real thing… That«bacon relish» was barely present and didn’t taste much like bacon, False advertising is the kindest thing I can say here… I expect better for the prices they charge and will probably avoid Max & Erma’s from now on…

It’s been a long long time since I’ve visited this place last. Judging from my last experience which was terrible, today was much better x5 service wise. Our waitress was very prompt and fulfilling to our every need. The food is decent, but the place has a promotion any family man can’t refuse, especially a long day with the wife and kids at the shipping center…“kids eat free… Everyday”! With the improved service and promotion fueling a very hungry family, it left me leaving satisfied.

I went here a couple weeks ago, and before that I haven’t been in a year or two. Now I know why… The service wasn’t to bad, but the food was horrible! My wife and I got a burger and fries, Holy salt! We could barely eat it, I got enough salt that meal, to where I didn’t need anymore for the rest of the week! Needless to say this will be our last visit we will ever make. $ 20 down the hole… I really wouldn’t go back even if it was free.

My wife and I had lunch here and ordered the supposedly Worlds Best Cheeseburger. It wasn’t quite the Worlds Best and was certainly greasy. Service was fair but the food was just simply lacking. Too bad. I don’t know if we’ll give them another shot or not.

I’m updating because I love M&E’s burgers and chicken tortilla soup. But PLEASE train those airheads that work the front desk! How many years the same girls have worked there, and they act like it’s the first time they’ve EVER seen a cash register, and have no idea what the restaurant they work at serves! My golly folks, we’ve been coming here for 6 years, and the same hostesses just cannot figure out how to accept payment for a take-out order. And forget about handing them your Rewards Card — that sends them into complete SHOCK — EACH and EVERYTIME. Each and every stinkin’ time we have a simple take out order for Cheeseburgers… the girl has to call the Manager over to do it. It’s become a long-standing joke in my family, because every time, without fail, they have a MENTALBREAKDOWN at the cash register. I am NOT exaggerating. I won’t name names, but after you order a cheeseburger, and specify the type of cheese and how to prepare it(which is meaningless, because they will cook it well done, regardless). she’ll ask the same question, you’ve been answering for the past ten minutes. «Okay, so… do you want the cheese on the burger?» Yeeeees, please… How do these kids graduate high school? It should truly be on a candid camera show, because it’s absolutely insane how clueless the staff is — but the soup is good.

I really struggled with this review. The food is generally VERY good and the service is normally fairly good; but they have a habit at this location(or is it all of them?) of *NEVER* writing down your order. Well for regular entrees that may be fine, but when there are 3 or 4 of you ordering a «Build Your Own Burger» it turns into a disaster literally every time. Sometimes this results in a simple mistake like a missing topping/condiment; other times it’s resulted in getting the burgers reversed — I order my with some pink and my wife and roommate order their’s without and at times the toppings/condiments have been right but the burger temps reversed. I don’t necessarily have an issue eating a burger that’s been cooked past what I like, but neither of them likes theirs anything short of «done» so they have to go back. I can’t «prove it» so to speak, but I suspect at least once they simply switched the patties on the burgers to correct the mistake which is annoying at best and likely a health code violation at worst. We’ve also had a couple of annoying experiences with their«free cookies» that they provide on Wednesday’s. Usually they’ll ask you which kind you want and bring them out on little plates or if there are 3 or 4 of us on a larger platter. However, later in the evening they’ve brought them out in «To Go» boxes without even asking what we wanted, which we found a bit rude. I know they’re «free», but they also push that fact to get people in on Wednesdays, so running out of some(if that’s what happened) shouldn’t happen; and to bring them out in the«To Go» box sent a message that we should leave. The latter to me is all on the server and reflects on the service I received and the gratuity I leave. I will say their frequent diner club is worthwhile. After so many visits in a calendar year you get 5% off(progressing to 10% and eventually 15%). This is good for the balance of the year and carries over to the next year(or so I’ve been told, we just joined this year). They also pre-load specials from time to time like 20% off your entire check and that’s appreciated and does tend to lure us back. However, this location has gotten to the point with the ordering fiasco’s that we normally only order carryout and at that it’s generally appetizers(usually their Pretzel’s which are VERY good). Maybe their other locations don’t suffer from the ordering issues; but the others are far enough away that we haven’t tried them — perhaps we will at some point; but as to this one, I can’t give it more than 3 stars, and it probably deserves 2; but the food is good(when it’s right), so it «is what it is». Now I do have a question regarding«Gary K’s» review, and I’m not trying to be rude, but I’m honestly curious about the comment that«I never accept first seat offered». Hey, if you don’t like a seat then by all means ask for another, I’m not a fan of being near the door myself. But to make a blanket statement like that, it comes across(to me at least) like you’re intentionally trying to get some attention and I personally don’t understand that. If you’re intentionally doing it just to do it all you’re doing is making a hostess/host’s job more time consuming and in at least some circumstances delaying others from being seated, etc. If it takes that to «make you happy» as you say, then to each their own; but I(and many others I suspect) would have a different set of words for that.

As noted on a previous review — the ambiance and service are fine, but the food is «meh». Philly cheese was okay, but small. Probably Applybee’s quality. Unfortunately, the neighborhood and the pricing suggests it should offer a better experience.

Clean restrooms, friendly and effective staff, nicely decorated dinning area, and crap burgers. I have never had to add salt to a burger before to taste it. Fries were nicely seasoned and the potato skins were great. But the entrée was a huge disappointment. I won’t be returning.

Went in about 3pm and was greeted and seated promptly. Party of two. I never accept first seat offered. They found a nice spot away from the front and were willing to make me happy. The waitress lit the place up with her smile. I had the trio, French onion soup, Grilled chicken and sun dried tomato sandwich with a nice salad of greens. Wife went for pulled pork sandwich and fries, hers looked good but mine was really, really good. They finished me off with two big chunk chocolate chip cookies and a ext er Coke. Wife made me share a cookie or it would of been to much. It was a darn good late lunch.

Service was terrible. Waiter disappeared for long periods. Kid’s meal included a drink and I ordered root beer for my son. It came in a bottle and cost an extra $ 2.59. Had to find a manager to get the included desserts. My burger was well done and not the medium I ordered. Poor service prompted this review.

My favorite place to get a burger! Their 8oz. Or 10oz. Burger is cooked to order and is always delicious! I refuse to get a burger anywhere besides here now because everywhere else is such a disappointment when compared to Max and Erma’s. My wife tried the pulled pork it was really good too! The food is always excellent; the service is as well except for a couple incidents at the St. Peters location. The ambiance is great too. Obviously I LOVE this restaurant!
