It’s OK, but not«the best» as I see spotlighted all over. There are far better places if you want to drive 10min, but for this area I would say they are the best but only by default since there isn’t anything else for breakfast in the area.

This is a great ma and pa type diner. I haven’t had anything but breakfast here but it was really comfort food. Sometimes a gal just wants some biscuits and gravy without anything too fancy. This place fits the bills. Prices were okay. Facility was clean. They do serve beer and mimosas but are a bit pricey compared to other place. I’ve been twice and will probably go again.

The waitress left us hanging quite a bit. Didn’t stop by enough to see if we needed our drinks refilled which we did. And wasn’t altogether friendly. The food was mediocre at best. The bacon was not cooked extra crispy like I had asked, eggs bathed in grease, and the waffle I got came with a tiny little bit of butter that only spread across a small corner of the waffle, so I asked for more. I couldn’t eat the waffle until the butter came and it was a while before I was able to flag the waitress down and ask for more, then it took a while to flag her down and remind her I asked for butter. But the time my tiny little side of butter came the waffle was cold and not good. I always return and give places 2nd and 3rd chances but it might be a while before I do that with this one but when I do I’ll update the review, and hopefully remember to take pictures

Hasn’t been too bad in the past, but today a different story. Very poor service(not from waitress) just overall. Cook messed up our order, waitress was powerless, and owner not willing to address issue with kitchen. Wow. Not again.

I always get the chicken fried steak and eggs. Food is great and service is great! Cute little place to have breakfast or lunch. It’s never to crowed

Family owned and operated, and you can tell in the quality of the food. This is truly like having a home cooked breakfast. The food(I’ve only had their breakfast) is great, the service is great, the staff/family were all rocking Seahawks gear,(visited on a Sunday), and they had football on the tv. Since I’ve discovered this place it’s my new ‘Go To’ for breakfast. Go Hawks!

The crew here is always very friendly with huge smile on their face. The food is always consistent and classic. If you are looking for great service and a classic breakfast, you need to head to the new country grill. I recommend the chicken fried steak, it is awesome!

The breakfast was delicious. I really liked the hashbrowns and the eggs were real. The hubby enjoyed his omelet. It was packed. The place seems old and dated. But the food was good.

This our favorite go-to place for breakfast. Love the biscuits and gravy. Super food and service all around. It’s so good it’s become an solid establishment in the Lake Stevens community. Great place to pop-in for those cruising Hwy 9 for a nice day drive or hiking. «Flo» loves to call ya «Sunshine.» It really doesn’t get anymore authentic country style than this, and I should know being a Midwest boy.

Came here for the first time with my parents this past winter and fell in love. Cute little diner with Western hospitality! The breakfast was so delicious we came back the following three days as well. To top it all off, each time we were waited on by Sunshine, the most fabulous and enthusiastic waitress I think I have ever had. Amazing place and amazing people, full five stars!

I keep wanting this place to be good, but it never is. It is the only breakfast place near Frontier Village, so it would be wonderful if it were decent. The bacon is kept under a warmer, so that when it is served, it has the taste and texture of my dog’s chew strips. Pretty much the same with the hash browns. Even the jam in the little tubs is old. It’s a pleasant enough place, but the food is just plain bad.

Excellent place for breakfast. I had two eggs and hash browns, cooked perfectly. My friend had two eggs hash browns, sausage and toast. her meal was a dollar less than mine. Not sure why. Service was fine and friendly.

Came upon this place through the recommendation of a local. Plenty of parking, seated promptly and couldn’t drink my coffee fast enough to empty the cup… Very attentive staff and service. Sunshine was a great waitress. Cinnamon rolls are homemade and delicious. I had the traditional, eggs, bacon, hash browns and toast. Cooked to perfection. My friend had the skillet and cleared her plate. Highly recommended.

This is my first Unilocal review, generally if I don’t care for a place, I’ll politely pay my tab and just not go there again. With that said, the New Country Grill took me to a whole new level of anger and disappointment that I didn’t know was possible. I had bacon & eggs there today, and was completely disgusted by the bacon. The only reason I gave this place a star at all is because the eggs were okay, but that’s pretty hard to screw up. Back to the bacon, it’s hard to describe how bad it was, I’m pretty sure it was old and rotten, even the smell of it was bad. It wasn’t even edible, which put me off from eating the eggs and hashbrowns. Then to make matters worse, they still charged me $ 16.20 for some crappy food, a couple pieces of fruit, and a soda. I’ll never eat here again, it was horrible.

I ordered the french toast combo and shared it with my 6-yr-old, and there was plenty for both of us. The food was good, and the service was prompt and friendly. I usually don’t like establishments that serve breakfast all day because they feel like an iHop. Well, at New Country Grill I didn’t feel like I was dining at iHop where all the patrons are convalescents or section-8 tenants. The place felt homey and comfy. The dining room is a bit dated and could definitely use some remodeling, but it had the«country» feel the name suggests. I’d go back.

I tried New Country Grill for the first time this past weekend with my mother and son. The décor is a little dated, but overall fairly clean. We waited less than 5 minutes to be seated, and although there were many booths/tables available, we were placed next to 3 very full and loud groups. My mom and I had coffee, son had apple juice I ordered the clam chowder and requested a roll, was told that would not be a problem by the waitress. when the soup arrived, it was warm and served with crackers. When I asked about the roll, the same waitress stated they did not have rolls. My mother ordered a soup and salad combo. She was pleased with the amount of food, however the soup was warm, and the salad had a few brown pieces. my son had the kids pancake combo and was pleased(he’ll eat almost anything) I wish it would have been a better experience, but not the worst I’ve had. Based upon the items ordered, I would have expected a slightly smaller bill, but wasn’t terrible: for 3 of us, it was $ 30 with 15% Tip. Overall, it wasn’t terrible, food was warm(NOTHOT), and coffee was EXTREMELY bitter. I will more than likely go back to give them a second chance, but won’t be my first thought when thinking of going out to dinner.

We moved to Lake Stevens a little over a month ago and this past week we looked on Unilocal for a breakfast place around us. Turns out there really isn’t much at all in that regard with the exception of the New Country Grill. I read all the reviews and many people were saying bad things about it and how they didn’t really like it. However, most of these reviews were from 2+ years ago and the more recent reviews were much more positive so we decided to try it. Long story short, we loved it. We didn’t observe any of the negative things people had said. Very promptly sat and drinks ordered. Everything came quickly including the food being prepared. My wife had the meat lovers omelette which had lots of meat including quite a bit of perfectly crispy bacon(she requested that). I had french toast which didn’t blow me away but was still very tasty. Nothing bad to say about it. All of this with a very friendly staff. We will definitely go back and recommend to others. They may be one of the only breakfast places around but they don’t skimp on things because of it.

Not bad! The Texas Bbq burger was pretty good and quite big. The parmesan crusted cod needed a bit of seasoning, but the mashed potatoes and veggies were done really well. It’s not fancy food, but they’re probably the best American fare in Lake Stevens. They also have cocktail specials that were good and the service was quick and friendly.
