New residents of the former Lemongrass Thai have opened a southern family diner style restaurant. Out with Asian décor, in with curtains and washboards. Two $ 6.95 specials written on a white board, I found this place an «open can and heat» type restaurant. I chose salisbury steak – a well-done piece of chop steak smothered in canned brown gravy and canned mushrooms. I didn’t want collard greens or black-eyed peas for sides – so they brought sliced tomatoes. Didn’t like the sound of fried cornbread, got a very soft fresh out-of-the-bag roll. They use Pepsi products rather than Coke – big personal strike against them. Had many delicious-looking desserts in a cold cabinet. Still in a bad neighborhood, be careful after dark!(closes 8:30) Also serves breakfast. Service mediocre.
