Sadly they have close their doors for good due to the progress of the new HEB. I was hoping that Chuck would relocate but not sure :(Bummer Chuck if you read this PLEASE post your recipe for your Tortilla Soup.

Just ate here and the wraps are filling and delicious. The service is great and the people are friendly. Great place to grab lunch!

Texastar certainly redeemed themselves to me today when it comes to portion sizes, which was a negative comment, as I stated in my first review. Country fired steak was HUGE, 4 enormousness onion rings, and a load of smashed taters and gravy. Have only been here twice and the sizes were very inconsistent so I can’t confidently say what the norm is. ??? The special of the week is a Buffalo Chx sandwich with chips and a drink for about 8 bucks. Pretty good deal. Quality of food still pretty average(e.g., instant mash, etc.); however, Texastar sure is a great alternative to other«fast food’ drive through like McD’s. For a relatively quick lunch at decent prices I would recommend.

Best quick-service food in Lakeway! Never mind the fast-food chains you can find anywhere, this place is one-of-a-kind and the friendly folks here cook it up right!

Texas Star Kitchen was a little place we found hidden in Lakeway. There are only a few outdoor tables other than that it’s all drive through. I had a grande burger two onion ring baskets and she had a salad. Oh joy it was great! First the burger was huge and amazing like me. The onion rings were fantastic, and the salad portion was also enough for two to share. Located on the north side of Lake Travis its set back off the road just a bit so keep an eye out for it when you fly by.

California burger was great. Not sure on the seating. Its not outwardly obvious from reviews that seating is very limited and outside only. Food was great though.

My wife and I have tried most of the restaurants in Lakeway and have concluded that Texastar is the best in Lakeway. Once a week we go by and pick up dinner and have never been disappointed with the way it’s prepared, portions or price. If you try it once, you’ll go back — keep in mind that this is not a «fast food joint». It takes a little while but the food is prepared after the order is placed and is always fresh. Service is excellent also. Wayne L.

This is my favorite burger joint! My first time I waited a few minutes longer than a fast-food place, but when I got my food I realized it was worth it! I’ve been about 8 times and every experience is consistently excellent. The food is always cooked fresh and I’ve never gotten fries that weren’t hot and fresh. I was so happy with this little place that I told the cashier how much I liked it. Turns out, he was the owner. They do have a variety of items on their menu, and I mean to try something new, but to me, their burgers are just too good. I moved up to Cedar Park and wish they could open a location up here. :)

I am so happy to have this place in my neighborhood! This restaurant has been on our go-to list for the last two years. I am addicted to the Tex Mex Taco Salad — it has a delicious chipotle ranch dressing — and my husband loves the Santa Fe Wrap with fried chicken. The chicken strips are battered and fried and have a light crust almost like tempura. The onion rings are also great. What I love about this place almost as much as the consistently good food is the consistently excellent service. These guys are always friendly and my orders are always right.

We were bummed we could not order on Sunday evening, but made plans to follow up for Monday night dinner. I had the baja taco and it was perfect. My husband had the chicken tenders. He enjoyed the honey mustard sauce on the side, which was not overly sweet. The onion rings were an added bonus which accompanied the chicken tenders. We will definitely be returning to try their burgers and chicken tortilla soup. Service was fast and friendly and there were plenty of customers before and after our meal(we opted to eat outside at the tables provided). Prices were very reasonable for the quality of food. The only feedback I can offer, is that they might cut back on packaging for patrons choosing to eat at their outdoor dining area. Could have done without the extra bags.

Texas Star Kitchen has been serving my belly since 2001 and I am never disappointed. They provide a fresh alternative to your traditional fast food drive thru. Everything is made when you order. It may take a few more minutes to receive your meal, but you can taste the difference. They are always cordial and accommodating. Owner, Chuck Goodman, is always at the window with a smile. I love the Blue Burger and Crispy Tenders with Gravy(the batter is amazing). If you are looking for a quick, fresh burger to go… Texas Star is the place to go.

Would get five stars if they weren’t closed SATURDAYSANDSUNDAYS! Hello, that is the time I want a great burger, taco salad, large iced tea, etc! Please change to at least be open on Saturday! Everything I’ve gotten is really good, fresh, and homemade. Props to the small business owners who care about quality! Yes, upon first visit you think it’s going to be «fast» b/c of the drive through. We were the only ones and our order took about 8 minutes for two grilled cheeses and a taco salad. But then, it was as good as restaurant quality, if not better, so what’s the big deal? And where else can you get food for your kid that’s not a crappy meal? I just call ahead from now on & it works like a charm. Anyone thinking about going should go! We’re already regulars here; owners are super nice. Hopefully they’ll sacrifice more of their lives so that they can be open and cater to my desires of food on the weekend!

OK, no it’s not FAST food but you know how you sit around and say«Hey, why don’t we start a drive through restaraunt where we serve Aunt whoever’s famous whatever?» That’s what this place is. Home-cooked drive-through. The set up is a little weird. No seating inside and sitting outside in Texas can be a little interesting. The hours are a bit strange, it’s a bit overpriced(but who doesn’t feel good about supporting a local business?) and the food takes a while to cook but IT. IS. DELICIOUS. What to eat here? Anything fried. Okay, I said it. It’s not bottom of the french fryer fried, it’s let’s heat up this grease once you order it fried. Piping hot and juicy. Not into all those calories? You’re missing out but don’t fret, their salads are ALSO delicious. Something about that dressing on the tex-mex salad is to die for. Also, the soup. Can’t go wrong. *tip for the doggie lovers — if you drive through the window with them in the car the cheery workers will pass you a treat!

I’ve been a fan of this place for years. I used to work in the Lakeway area and would pretty much get my lunch to go every day. I haven’t tried much… cause I always went back to my tried and true: Lakeview Tortilla Soup… SO good… nice broth, just enough spice and chicken, cheese, avocado and tortilla strips Fried Chicken Salad… served on always fresh greens with awesome fried chicken(I think it’s almost a tempura), pico, eggs and tortilla strips… I get it with the ranch dressing and request salsa to mix… mmmm…also side of honey mustard to dip chicken in… sounds weird combo but try it Baja Fish Wrap… Tempura fried fish with fresh veggies and cheese drizzled with chipolte ranch I have NEVER had anything bad here… if you’re in Lakeway GO!

TSK is an awesome little local family run joint in Lakeway that serves up homemade fresh made to order food out of a drive threw or walk up. They have no inside area so you have the option of eating on their very small patio or a park bench or just take your food to go. Since they make most of their food after you order the wait is longer than your usual drive threw but totally worth the wait and where else can you get a side of homemade Green Bean Casserole served out of a window?! They have lots of Veggie options and make all their salad dressings. Every week they have a special that runs Monday — Friday for 6.99 that includes a burger, tacos or entrée with a side of fries or salad and a 20 oz drink. I am currently addicted to their Lakeview Tortilla Soup and fresh cut Onion Rings but everything I have tried is a solid 4 stars!

Nothing but great things to say about Texas Star Kitchen. Staff is very friendly, the food is always fresh, and the entire place is kept VERY clean. You will wait a few extra minutes for your food, but that’s because nothing sits under a heat lamp. Even the chipotle ranch dressing is made fresh! Great menu choices with sandwiches, salads, wraps, soups, and everything in between. Prices are good, and you get the portions and quality you pay for. If you are in the Lakeway area, this is a must! Drive right past the nasty fast food places and right into Texas Star Kitchen!
