Chronic Tacos

I love this place, delicious Mexican food that you watch them prepare, with friendly workers and a real clean restaurant.

This is our second time coming to this location, since the one closest to us got shut down. The first time here was a good experience. Food was really good and delicious. But the second time really disappointed me. We got the potato tacos, and the shrimp and fish tacos. When they brought out the first three potato tacos they where almost empty and tiny. So we decided to order just one more since the ones ordered where too small. When the cook brought out the next batch, he had made 4 on accident. The girl at the station took all but one out… But she gave us another one that was small. Since we had just said that the first ones were too small, and the chef made extra, she honestly should have given us the other ones, or replaced the ones that were empty.
Not really good customer service.

Hands down the best taco I ever had can not understand such a low rating wish they were out in La !

Chronic tacos as a chain has really tasty food that I really like. Sadly, this Chronic taco in lakewood, ca thinks that it’s ok to charge full price for half the food that the other Chronic tacos provide. I won’t be back to this Chronic even though it’s around the corner from the house. All the other Chronic tacos that I’ve visited (2 in long beach, 1in cerritos) give you your moneys worth. Word to the owners of lakewood chronic tacos;Go to the other locations as mentioned above and learn how to make the right amount of food, You’re giving the chain a bad name!!!

I continue to chose Crontic Tacos as my early lunch fav. Food is hot, fresh & delicious! The place is clean and the service is excellent! I eat here at least once a week. I hook it up after putting gas in my car at Vons… easy and fast. The chicken Tacos and black beans are exceptional!

I hardly ever write reviews, but the great customer service I received on my visit yesterday inspired me. Tacos were great, but I have to say that I was really impressed with the efficient and professional service by young staff member Dominic (I asked his name so I could include it in my review). Not only was this guy working his butt off, but he took the time to let the people in back of me know that he’d be with them in a minute. Then he proceeded to fix my 7 tacos specifically to order and label each one of them so that I would know which was which when I got home. Unfortunately, I rarely encounter such work ethic in people of his generation. Only my second time at this location. Both times, food and service were excellent. I’ll be back… and hope that Dominic is behind the counter to wait on me.

Food is good, service is horrible! Why take online orders if you’re gonna start the order when I get there? Every time I come to this place it gets worse! Get some decent staff in this place, please!

Garbaaaage, literally, I mean what happened! It was so
, new ownership, even though they claim its not, new cook, different ingredients, either way that was an over priced waste. The guy had my price wrong twice and if i hadent said anything I would have over paid almost 8 bucks! The staff was too busy watching soccer to care that my quesadilla cheese wasn’t melted and my burrito ingredients were cold. You would have thought i was disturbing him with my concerns.

I usually get the carne Asada burrito, it’s very good. Customer service is awesome, especially when Dominic is on deck.

I’ll tell you what… stop by this joint for some tacos, a burrito or some carne asada fries OR get ‘em all! Drop in ESPECIALLY if Dominic is behind the counter! He’s quick, helpful and is happy to be there! We got awesome service from him the other night and it just makes it that much better to eat at Chronic! Good job, man. I called your boss and he said he’s gonna give you a raise!

Okay i have frequent this location a few times and i will give this owner credit. The staff they have has now is awesome, w/​great customer service and decent portions. Even the cook was cool in explaining why the order was taking long to a customers. Because it’s freshly cooked shrimp!.. yummy! !!
One staff member was cleaning the trash can and actually moved it to get under neath, not around, then he cleaned the glass. whoa who is this through.
Even though it was 20 min til closing the food area was clean and full, not looking like day old scraps because they refuse to cook more food towards closing time.
My food was sooo good. I was in too much of a state of shock to take a pic… give this place another try or try it if you have not been. HUGE Improvement!

Friendly… food was… meaah…they said they were like chipotle… I thought they were more like «café rio». But, I like café rio better. The food here was… bla…I’m not into bla.

I was looking to grab a bite so I checked Unilocal,and saw there was a chronic tacos nearby. I haven’t had a Cali burrito in a while, so why not.
I went early in the morning when they just opened, so I don’t mind waiting since I know they’re getting things ready for the day. I was helped by a young blonde lady who was really nice. She helped me out and made sure I had everything I needed.
The burrito was great, as expected. The size of the thing is worth it for the price you pay. This is the only place I can get full off 9 bucks.

I’ve been to the locations in Cerritos and Hermosa. Don’t bother with this location. This was the smallest $ 7 burrito I have seen. See pic above in pictures. The other locations the burritos were twice as big. Appeared the owner was there standing behind the employees maybe they are trying to cut costs? I always thought chronic tacos were known for their large portions until I stopped at this location.

I can’t believe I’ve never left a review for this lovely place. I drive past two Chronic tacos to come here. It’s my weekly spot. I love the staff, always on point!

There are sever reasons why I will probably never return to Chronic Taco again in my life… if I ever do, it’ll surely not be this location.
Unfortunately, the staff of an establishment has the ability to ruin any experience, regardless of the food.
The first reason I won’t come back is because of the way the food looked on the heat table. I should have grabbed a pic but the staff was ready to serve me since there was nobody in the restaurant when I arrived. All of the containers that had fluid had a film on it. For those who know food well, that happens when it’s allowed to sit for prolonged periods of time without being disturbed.
The second reason and third reason I won’t come back is because of the prices for what I got and because of the inability to listen to my order by the staff. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and a carne asada quesadilla. The guy asked me if I just wanted cheese in the quesadilla and I replied «yes, and carne asada». So he proceeded to make a cheese quesadilla. I assumed he would put the asada in after he put it together, but he did not. I would have made him remake it, but I was already running late to a class 30 minutes away. After making the tacos, the employee threw barely any meat on there and I asked «that’s all?» To get a reply of «this is how it’s normally made». I almost started crying when my total came to 17.17 for a cheese quesadilla, 2 tacos, and a large drink. Keep in mind, another customer walked in behind me and ordered a kids cheese quesadilla and it was the exact one I ordered, but only a fraction of the cost. I should have just ordered a kids meal and gotten a drink for cheaper.
So recap, small portions, inattentive staff, and crazy prices. I give 2 stars because the asada was decent, and the green salsa was pretty good. Other than that, look at the pictures I posted.

3÷29÷15: Never coming back… the Al Pastor taco was cold and greasy. The potato tacos were a joke as they literally put 2 pieces of lettuce and 7 shreds of cheese. If the girls werent in there goofing around then they could focus on making the food right.

Went here on a recommendation from a friend, since I’m a Freebirds fan and there isn’t a location close. Might as well cut to the chase — it’s no freebirds. It’s not even Café Rio.
Asked for a chicken burrito and the dude started a steak burrito. I didn’t correct him, figured it’s not a big deal. I asked for extra rice because I did not want beans. The server put in one scoop of rice and then literally about 10 grains in a second scoop. Added guacamole and he said it was extra, which I expected. I get to the register and it’s just under $ 10. They charge $ 1.50 for a scoop of guac!
The burrito itself wasn’t bad. Maybe a ³⁄₅ stars. Pretty standard issue. But for $ 10, I’ll pass. The size of the burrito is smaller than freebirds or café Rio as well. After I finished my burrito, I had to find something else to eat, since I was still hungry. Smaller burrito, yet more expensive.
I had high hopes for the place but it fell flat. I won’t be going back. Café Rio, even Baja Sonora or Albertos is a better and slightly cheaper option in the area.

If you are looking for a quick delicious burrito this is the spot! I personally prefer a meaty and filling meal rather than a dry subway sandwich so when I saw this chronic taco I was sold. I was in a bit of a rush after work so I just jammed in and found myself being greeted by a couple of cute girls behind the counter. The service was great and the inside was so clean! I am a little OCD so it was refreshing to not have to arrive to a dirty table top. The girl Natalie pretty much recommended everything since it was my first time there and assembled my beautifully wrapped chicken burrito. It’s a sin to wrap a burrito so poorly that it falls apart, so take notes fellas. The ingredients were so fresh and delicious and the salsa (hot) was on point! I am very pleased with my experience :) I will definitely return!

Welcome to Yummy-​town! The staff is super friendly and clean. The music is going. I’m getting my taco on! The ingredients are fresh and delicious.
I got the potato taco and chronic salad with a juicy whip orange drink.
My partner in crime busted out the $ 3.25 for her carne asada taco. Was it worth it? YES! That was best $ 3 taco! And she’s from Az. :)
I’m not one to kiss and tell, but dang Chronic Taco, you were so good.
