I came here on a Sunday night, and there was only one other table being served, but don’t let the lack of business turn you away. I had the spicy beef soup and the hot bibimbap. The food was amazing and very fairly priced(considering I regularly eat at Koreatown in Los Angeles). The décor is very quaint and low key, and it definitely feels like a homestyle restaurant. Service was fast and the waiter was attentive. If you’re looking for good hearty Korean food, you’ve come to the right place.

Don’t let the emptiness of the restaurant fool you. The food here is actually really good! We always tend to get the Spicy Beef Soup. Personally, I do not like the beef that is in there, but I really enjoy the vegetables and the flavor of the soup, so I kindly ask that they take out the beef and add extra vegetables, and they are very accommodating to my request. If you are not looking for a soup and are looking for meat, I would highly recommend the beef short rib, they are DELICIOUS!

Side dishes are nothing to write home about but you get a reasonable meal for the price. The sundubu is a little expensive though because it’s quite thin. Everything is a little bit on the plain side & the quality of the ingredients is low.

Their spicy squid dishes and yugaejang is really good. Their lunch prices are reasonable and their bonchon sides are delicious.

I have come a couple times now and the atmosphere has been very quiet and we were seated immediately. I have had the knife cut noodles and the bulgogi soup. Both times were delicious and the owners were very welcoming and polite. Highly recommend the place.

I’ve been coming here for years! the owners are really friendly and welcoming, really love this place. This place is very underrated in a hidden location in a plaza next to a coin laundry but the quality of the food is just as good if not better than most Korean restaurants. They have their own private lot with designated parking spots for the restaurant. really spacious inside so you can bring a big party as well. Oh! And if you can be sure to come for the lunch specials. My favorite things to get: soontofu and marinated pork dish

This place doesn’t look like much from outside but it really impressed me with its food! :D It def lives up to its name, Dae Bak, which is a slang word for«a big success!» lol. Everything I had here has been super tasty and I can’t say that anything disappointed me so far. I especially like their Gamjatang(Spicy pork bone and potato soup) and Yukgaejang(Spicy beef soup). Their banchans are also amazing even though they are simple. Their Kimchi is soooooo delicious but Gamjagorim(potato) is even batter! Darn, I am getting hungry… The server seems to be the owner(?) since it’s been always the same person despite the time of the day. He’s quiet and soft spoken but very nice. Another awesome thingabout this place is that they have free parking available onsite! I bring my family and friends here a lot and we always have a good time.

Went here today for lunch and it was very empty; I love it! The only reason why I’m taking one star off is because the lack of service. My bf literally had to walk up to them to let them know that he wanted extra rice and more banchan(side dishes); very limited banchan — he didn’t mind though. Food was great! We ordered soondubu, spicy marinated pork, and bulgogi. Very delicious! My bf was also sick today and he finished all the food and was very happy. Food cures his sickness haha! We’re definitely going to come here again to order more dishes! Hopefully we’ll get better service next time! Till then!

It is important that you get a large grilled pork served on a sizzling hot skillet. This is my favorite non kbbq Korean restaurant in the area. The banchan is good. Not a lot to pick from but they concentrate on quality vs quantity. Great prices for all the food you get with the sides. Come here, drink beer and eat meat.

Went for lunch with an old colleague of mine this past Friday. He ordered the tofu soup while I ordered the spice beef soup. Both were full of flavorful and the sides are yummy(Potato, Radish, Kimchee, and a few others). Service was good, atmosphere was relaxing, and location is easy to find. You can’t beat their lunch specials… we were out the door for less than $ 10 each.

Unilocal challenge 201533⁄365 I am one of those late night eaters on a mission to find something yummy without a drive thru after 10:00pm. Driving around, refreshing Unilocal till something good pops up. And behold a old extended stay bookmark appeared complete with a few very trustworthy Unilocalers whose wise words pulled me in providing me with a True 4 star rated experience I was looking for at this true hidden gem establishment. Situated in a small strip mall in Lakewood at the corner of Pioneer and Centrelia with private parking spots up close made for easy access in and out of the resturant. Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and offered a table of our choice. Tables were perfect for a intimate dinner or a larger party by placing tables closer together. The menu was limited, only because Im a picky eater who flocks towards the same dishes over and over again. I was sold on the small beef bogolgi which was served over cabbage with a tiny rice bowl to compliment it. I ate the entire plate and my tummy was happy. A few typical banchan sides were brought out, which were shared with my hot date. The hubsters had the small BBQ pork plate, which was bone in and on the spicy side. I had a few scraps and enjoyed the heat in my mouth. The hubsters said it was hot n tastey. Service was good. Nothing to pushy and servers appeared at the right times. We left full but not stuffed. I really love this place. Ive been here about 4 or 5 times now, i always leave über full, happy, AND with leftovers. The owners are a cute korean couple and they love it if you try to throw a few korean words at them(like hello and thank you). The man is really shy if you dont speak korean but really nice nonetheless. For food, i always get the korean pancake. Weve had bulgogi, kalbi ribs, pork, bibimbap… all of it was good. I like this place because its real korean food, not just kbbq… all the customers here are actual koreans. Since there arent a lot of workers youll have to raise your hand or shout a bit to get their attention. But thats fine with me caus otherwise they just leave you alone to enjoy the food haha. Return customer, will return again:)

Very clean and spacious restaurant. You can watch Asian dramas on the only TV in the whole restaurant. I’ve heard about the great lunch specials here, but I came during dinner. Every table gets banchan(Korean side dishes) — we had potatoes, macaroni, kimchi, and daikon. We each had a bowl of rice as well. My BF ordered a small pork rib dish to share. The pork ribs were good and tasty. I love the seasoning used. They have either the small or large portion. The seafood & vegetable casserole was worth the $ 29.99! Yummy! I really don’t know why the soup/stew is called a casserole… it is clearly spicy soup on a portable gas stove. Anyways, it reminds me of the same entrée my parents used to order at a Korean BBQ place when I was growing up. The soup contains so many goodies such as clams, squid, blue crab, mussels, shrimp, intestines, tofu, daikon, bean sprout, onion, meat, mushroom. The pot was huge and enough to share between two to three people. It’s perfect for the winter time. Service was good, but I think that’s because there were only three tables with customers.

«Until Dae Bak here, baby Miss you, want you, eat you so Until Dae Bak here, baby, yeah There’s a hunger inside I want you to know You are the one And I can’t let you go.» — Dae Bak parody of «Back Here», BB Mak Shoutout to my Unilocal buddy & fellow Korean, Chris C, for this little gem. Okay, so technically I’m not Korean, but with all the Korean food that I eat, I consider myself an honorary Korean. Of course, I also consider myself an honorary Chinese, honorary Japanese, honorary Lebanese etc. ;p Lunch specials are inexpensive and quite reasonable. I decided upon the spicy beef soup($ 6.99) — Preparation H & Tucks Medicated Pads must be hot commodities in Korea, because everyone must have burning bungholes from all the spicy Korean foods ;p A large bowl of tender shredded beef, egg, green onions with glass noodles swimming in a fiery broth. The broth didn’t numb the mouth, which is good because I like tasting my food, but caused sweat to bead all around my big dome. My eyes teared, my nose ran & I needed a couple napkins to wipe the perspiration from my face. The soup warmed me from head to toe. Delicious, filling and for not a lot of scratch! I slayed the fiery beast with nary a drop remaining– Unlimited banchan & rice came with my order. Only 4 banchan options, but they were good– Seating is plentiful, with tables in the middle & booths around the perimeter. A chandelier hanging from the ceiling adds a touch of class to this casual restaurant. A flatscreen TV with Korean QVC was on for diner’s viewing pleasure. I was close to ordering some women’s spanks, but couldn’t make out the toll free number ;p The wood paneling façade on the walls makes the restaurant seem cylindrical in shape. Service was good, although even though I was the only one dining there at the time, the wait seemed a bit long. Parking is in private lot in a Korean strip mall, with a few dedicated parking stalls at the entrance. Looking for another lunch spot? Dae Bak, baby! Affordable lunch options of delicious Korean food, closeby to home, are why I’m a fan. Let’s do lunch! Highly recommend! NOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMNOMOMNOMNOM
