I can’t say enough good things about the Lakewood Garden Center. I have a black thumb, maybe even two black thumbs, and have attempted some small scale vegetable gardening at my apartment. They were able to point me in the right direction and had some solid advice. I really liked that they could recommend specific seeds for things they had grown and enjoyed. That level of knowledge is not something you’re going to get at Home Depot. Plus, they’ve got a store cat. What’s not to love? I always support local businesses when I can and the fact that this place is so close to me is a bonus. While you may not be able to find exactly what you are looking for, they have an adequate selection. They seemed to be out of green bell peppers during my last visit, but hey, people buy things and they run out of stuff. I’ll just have to go back! It’s good for the fall too. They have all sorts of crazy lookin gourds, squash and pumpkins to elevate your decorating to the next level. I bought a bunch for my non-functioning fireplace last year and during checkout they let me know which ones were good to eat too. Parking can be scarce at peek times, but you can park in the adjacent side street if the lot is full. Don’t forget, metered parking is free in Lakewood weekdays after 6, weekends, and holidays. Credit cards are accepted so fill up that Radio Flyer wagon!

Best place for anything gardening. The thing that really rocks, is the staff is knowledgeable. If you have any questions, they know how to answer them. They give you correct answers. A lot different than shopping at a chain nursery, where you ask a question and they give you a blank stare. Prices rock. They have a killer selection of perennials, and annuals. Better condition than the chains. They have really cute red wagons you can cruise with to put your plants in. Shop local and put your money into your local business!

Excellent selection and very knowledgeable and friendly staff made shopping here a very pleasant experience. Also their prices are completely reasonable. This is the best garden center I’ve been to in the area, and I will definitely return even though I’m coming from a ways away.

If they don’t have it, you don’t need it.(But they’ll probably order it for you anyway!) Paul and crew are always knowledgeable and helpful if you have a tendency towards killing plants like I do. This little gem is my first stop for all things green.

While small, this place packs a pretty big holiday punch! I’ve driven past this family-owned garden center so many times, but the desire for a fresh Christmas tree pulled me in the for a visit the other day. They have a pretty decent variety of trees, from fancy ones with a higher price tag, to cheaper Firs. And even the cheaper varieties look really great. I also loved that they carry«table top» trees, just $ 21 – 22 ea. Fresh wreaths a’plenty, even boxwood and other varieties are displayed in the back. And don’t forget their fresh roping(all varieties) and trimmings on the cheap. Also, did you know they will deliver your tree?! Ummmm… yes. All the yes. I also stopped inside for the first time and loved the warmth of all bulbs starting for the spring season – there were lots of goodies in there, so don’t skip it! What a cute biz – I can’t wait to come back in the spring and summer months!
