These are my favourite midwives! Joy Sedlock is the best! I would not go anywhere else. She takes her time with you and she has delivered both of my children. I love Lakewoods hands off birth approach and I would refer everyone here. My only issue is the long wait times to get appointments and in the waiting room. Great people are worth the wait! As far as billing issues stated from someone else, I think that is a Cleveland clinic thing not just a Lakewood midwives thing. Cleveland clinic needs to get there billing department in order!

Saw Raja Shaheen at the Midwifery in the medical office building at Lakewood Hospital for some yearly lady part services, and was very happy with the overall experience: I was able to get an appointment within a week of calling, reception /nurse were great and friendly, the wait time in the office was less than 10 minutes, and Raja was very knowledgeable and awesome! No problems with insurance or billing(I have Anthem). BTW, in case it isn’t obvious(it wasn’t to me, at first): midwives aren’t just for pregnant ladies. They can perform many tests(including PAPs) and other services, and write prescriptions, etc. I do think that the parking rates at the hospital /medical bldg. are pretty steep: it was $ 7 for an average-length appointment.

I was patient here for years, and really wanted to continue as i appreciated the idea of being more in control of my lady services & such. I have had billing issues for years, which have always gotten resolved with much work on my part and stress. I did not expect to deal with utter dishonesty & billing issues after i lost my pregnancy. When i came in i was told they needed a urine sample for a pregnancy test & that was all it would be used for. I was then told i could see the other doc there for a better sono to determine what was going on. The midwife said she wouldn’t charge me for her visit as i had an HSA, i would just get charged for the sono. Well, i had my urine sent out for testing to the tune of $ 250 without my knowledge or consent & Cleveland Clinic told me too bad. I was also billed for the midwife visit even though i was told i wouldnt be. Being called a liar after losing my pregnancy about what happened at the visit was the last straw. I advise you to avoid them at all costs if you value integrity and no billing issues. I did like the midwife, but dealing with all the rest has been one of the worst experiences of my life and i would wish it on no one else.
