Really good peeps. Great lube and beef jerkey selection. They cater to the overnight beer expert that thrive in Lakewood a bit too much, though. 5 years ago they were drinkin Natty Light. All the hops in the world cant make them re-live the pound of weed you smoked everyday while Mommy and Daddy paid for you to go to college. While they are paying off their cubile bebt, they can drink IPA like your the Czar of the Pacific Northwest. Just remember this review in 5 more years when all the hipster hopheads have moved on to the the next«unknown» ingredient. Hopefully cruelty-free, Amish, zero-gravity beer will catch on *crosses fingers*

Support Moon’s store. Don’t go to the Get Go across the street. Moon is a Lakewood guy. Support local businesses. The beer selection is good. I don’t know if people still buy Hustler or Penthouse but I remember back in the day they had them here.

Oh man, in 2008 I said this place was«totally shabby.» What a dick I was! This is by far my favorite convenience store in Lakewood. The people are cool, and the beer and snack selection are top-notch. They always have some sort of beer that I’ve never heard of. And that is no small feat.

Moon’s is a pretty awesome convenient store. The owner is super friendly and does a lot with social media to appreciate his patrons. They have a nice selection of craft beers and micro brews as well. It’s nice to see a convenient store that isn’t owned by a big gas station corp. Support local and buy your snacks, cigs and beer at Moon’s!

As the Mayor of all things great in in Lakewood, I find Moons food store as the number one neighborhood store. Moons food store begins with his family of customers. When I shop I always take notice to people who remember their regular customers. At Moons you are welcomed by your first name! The store carries chips, beverages, wine, ice cream, medicine, bakery, sandwiches, news papers and much more. The store comes under the category of convenient store even though there are other stores on the same corner. but I’m sure most people go into Moons just to go to Moons, say hello, tell a story or maybe, like me, I have been going there for 20years or so. Moons Food Store is great. I moved to the area almost two years ago and stop in about once a week to pick up beer or snacks. They have a surprisingly good beer selection. If you ask about a certain kind of beer they will try to stock it for you. I don’t know of many places willing to go the extra mile for people.

I feel really sorry for the person who owns this store especially since the Get-Go across the street opened, as a teenager I think during Midterms, I wanted to go there and pick up a few things to eat, and or drink, as the forgetful, and generally not bright person I am, I decided not to leave my messenger bag at the door cause I could bring it into Speedway. When I get to the back, the person who seems to be the owner calls me over to scold me, when I try to apologize he tells me to stop«mumbling my bullcrap» and«that I should have asked his policy first». I get cussed out by him, and hear«good riddance» upon leaving. I didn’t raise my voice and complain to him like you would have expected of a teenager, but actually apologized for what I did wrong. Rather than hearing, «thank you, you may take your things and leave» I get sworn at, and borderline yelled at cause I can’t project my voice without screaming. If you are happy going here, please do it, but I’m never coming here again.

I hope Rob«The Ghost» has visited Moon’s Food Store at least once more since 2008 when he wrote the review, because it seems pretty good now.(Wow, doesn’t 2008 seem like 1997 in Unilocal years? So far away!!) Anyway, I think the store is a smidge better than when he went there. Examples: it’s clean, there were plenty of protein-enhanced /flavored zero-calorie waters*(the 2011 version of Hot Pockets, maybe?), and they had non-dusty candy and chip bags. I did not peruse their beer selection as I was zeroed in on the water/Gatorade selection. I will be back with a more comprehensive report. All in all, it’s MUCH more desirable than similar convenience stores in Tremont in terms of cleanliness and variety of standard, non-weird items. But Tremont wins in terms of friendly cashiers, good beer, and drunk guys who hold the door open for you. *NB: Protein-enhanced, flavored zero-calorie waters make me wanna vomit.
