Phantasy Nite Club

Saw many, many shows here. Bouncers were always douchebags. If you keester airplane bottles of booze you can save on dranks. I was in a Phil Collins cover band called «Elastical Gomez». We told the owner to let us play there or we would be playing slap bass on his grave. We played there…

Worst place I’ve ever been to in my life. The staff was incredibly rude. They were about 50 chairs short and screamed at the PAYING customers for «seat sharing» it was very dirty inside and one of the worst experiences of my life I don’t reccomend ever going to phantasy

Band was amazing… The place was very dirty… Will come back ONLY to watch the band play! The security card was dressed like he just escaped prison!!! Wish they had a bigger parking lot… They did have a pretty cool pirate ship in the middle of the club…

Meh. This place is decent. My friend has done a few shows here. The music is incredibly loud. I don’t mean the live music, I mean the music between sets. It’s pretty unnecessary to play the music so loudly while people set up!
The drinks are decently priced, which is nice. It’s not the cleanest place but it’s never been an issue for me. I don’t mind going here but probably wouldn’t go unless I knew people playing at the venue that night.

We played The Symposium tonight. bartender was extraordinarily friendly and cool. Decent stage for a small venue. No Drink specials for bands though. the only reason why this gets 3 stars is because the «soundguy» really sucked. So much feedback, not A good mix and a pretty solid «I don’t give a fuck attitude.»

A pirate ship in a medium-​sized small venue? Of course.
I came here with my friend and then housemate to see a show. I don’t remember what we saw, but I had a good time even though it wasn’t my scene. OK, I don’t know exactly what my scene is, but if I can feel comfortable among another scene, then that scene is closer to my scene than, say, scenes that aren’t my scene.
The place is cleaner than it looks, but it’s probably dirtier than it is. Approximation. Why did I just type the word «approximation»? Why, because I wanted to use the word «approximation» in this review, and now I’ve used it three times.
Approximation.
Four times.

Yeah, there’s a pirate ship in there. I found an old newspaper from 1969 that had an ad for the Piccadilly restaurant at that same address. It said you could dine aboard the HMS Bounty. So i assume the boat was there back then and you could eat in it. I heard one time Marilyn Manson partied in there.
It’s a real dump, but you usually don’t have to pay to get in, so it’s a cheap dance club. The crowd is goth/​indie and not a bunch of assholes. Sometimes they have concerts here.
Urban legend: someone pushed Trent Reznor down the stairs either here or at the Chamber. Some dbags claim to have done the deed. I don’t know. It is the 20^th anniversary of Pretty Hate Machine which he recorded in Cleve. Maybe they’ll have a party for it?

I fuckin love this place. When I first heard we were going to a club with pirate ships I thought.. .“what, like long John Silver’s?” And then I got there. And I got it. Oh boy did I get it.
See.. .I’m with the band. I’ve worked in music long enough that I have enough friends that I’m always with the fucking band. You wanna kick me out? Try it, I’m part of the fucking tour (at least for that night. deal). So countless drinks later, and I was up on the poop deck wtih the lighting designer.

YARRR, but why is the rum gone??? ME thinks I need to swing low and pillage the village for some libations.
Of course, on the way to said bar wench, I was distracted by the helm. HARD TO PORT! SHIVER ME TIMBERS! You can’t make me walk the plank, that’s mutiny! See this laminate? HAHAH, AWAY WITH THE!
And so the night progressed.
I fucking love this place.

The Phantasy is a great venue to book a band, that’s for sure. Michele was very cool to deal with and has been very fair, for both a local and a popular national show (s) that I have put that place. I’ve only walked into the place once (for said national booking) and the only thing I can complain about is the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke and beer… yet, Cleveland went non-​smoking quite some time ago. hmmm. Other than that, I had a blast. :) Rock on, Michele!
