Sunny’s Salon and Barber

very affordable price with awesome haircut. My lady is Angie (orange hair). Although her English is not good, she is very friendly and cut my hair very carefully. I went there twice already and tip her good.

So I’ve been living here in Tacoma the past 4 months. In that time I’ve gone to 2 places for a haircut, one was a pseudo barbershop that didn’t use scissors and pinched into my neck with clippers and tried to outline my face, and the other was an alleged Aveda salon that left me with a bald spot about 8 inches long And about 2 inches wide, where my part is supposed to be.
But Sunny’s has experienced Pro’s!
Two things to note:
1. Not only was the haircut great
2. But the cost of $ 12! Blew me away!
I left leaving a $ 10 tip, total cost was still less than half of what that last high-​end salon had charged me to scalp me. Worth it? Id say priceless!
Anyhow, get there, talk to Sunny, get a great cut and be happy!

I’ve been coming here for 4 years now. Great haircut for a very reasonable price. Super friendly. For as long as I live in Washington this will be my go-​to spot. They always do a good job and never rush their work.

I been getting my haircut at this place for about 5 months already and they always do a great job. I end up satisfy with my haircut! They are nice ladies!

This is one of the best salons I’ve been to since moving here. My stylist did everything I asked for and then some. With the first normal pass through she managed the length, added body and shaped my hair into framing my fave perfectly. With the second pass through she straightened my hair and made sure every single strand was perfectly in place. I’ve had thinning hair since I was a teen and she managed to give me at least twice the volume I’m used to. I’ve tried numerous places in and around my area. Some places I was satisfied but never as overjoyed as I was after my appointment here. The overall environment is relaxing. You don’t feel pressured to carry on some non sense conversation. You can just sit back, relax and wait to be amazed with your results. My cut was only 25 dollars, but because of her ability to transform my mop from a sloppy mess to something sleek and easily managed I tipped 15. Trust me when I say it it beyond worth it! I’ve paid more and left disappointed at other salons. I can proudly say that this will be my go to place from now on!

I’m not the type of girl who gets hair cuts all the time but when I do, I do my research because I am looking for quality and value — needless to say, Sunny’s Salon has both. When I saw all the gleaming reviews on Unilocal,I decided to give this salon a shot and I’m so glad I did. Here are my favorite things about Sunny’s Salon.
1) Sunny takes walk-​ins!
2) Sunny is fast. Even though she was busy, she seated me within 10 minutes and cut my hair in a reasonable amount of time. She also styled my hair with loose curls and I loved it.
3) Sunny listens and knows what would look good on you. She looked at my example pics and made some suggestions on the length so that it would look better on me. She was right! I used to have long hair w/​no bang but I love my new «lob» w/​side swept bangs.
4) Sunny is very experienced and she definitely knows how to cut Asian hair.
5) Sunny is super nice! She’s a sweet Korean lady who knows how to give fantastic hair cuts. I will definitely go back to her when I need to get my hair cut again! :)

Went for a full color and the stylist did a wonderful job! She worked really well with my curly hair! She even blew it out and didn’t charge extra!

Brand new customer after just moving to the area. Got there early right at 9 when they opened. The owner, Sunny, greeted me and welcomed me to take a seat. There was a nice big-​screen with a cooking show to watch (she offered to change it for me but my Mom is a chef and I like to cook so it was nice). She paid close attention to the particulars of my preferred cut (military style medium-​reg), and treated me like we had known each other for years. Really good service and a real nice lady. Family owned and operated.
Excellent shop, excellent cut, excellent price. Will definitely be coming back.

$ 25 for a cut and style, not bad at all! What a fantastic little hair salon! Walked in shortly after noon today with a few people ahead of me, but I still made it out within an hour. I’m new to the area and have been nervous to get my hair cut by someone new. Luckily, Sunny’s did noT disappoint me at all. The atmosphere is relaxed and family-​oriented, for sure. The woman with the short, orange-​ish hair who cut my hair (didn’t catch her name) was fantastic and definitely gave me what I wanted. She even curled my hair when she was done without me asking! I’ll definitely be going back.

It’s been a year and half since I got my haircut. I haven’t had one since I moved here in Washington. I am very picky on who is touching my hair and clipping away. Sunny and her sister are really nice and they do a great job. This is my favorite place to get a haircut and won’t go anywhere else. They will take care of you and listen to what you want.

I just tried Sunny’s out for the first time. Everyone was very nice and laid back. The salon was clean and comfortable. And most importantly I was pleased with my hair cut. I’ll be going back for sure!

Whenever you’re in the area and need a trim, stop by Sunny’s Salon! Sunny’s is a cozy little place off of Bridgeport Way, very close to the Lakewood Towne Center. The clean, well-​lit shop is run by the always smiling owner, Sunny, and her equally friendly sister, Angela. In addition to haircuts, Sunny also provides foot massages and skincare solutions for her clients!
Angela needed very little instruction to create an elegant ‘do. I asked for lots of layers for a haircut that was a little longer than the shoulder. She cut it the perfect length and asked if there were enough layers about halfway through. When I wasn’t sure, she offered her professional opinion on what would look good, which I appreciated. She even curled the layers at the very end! Nearby, Sunny cut my friend’s hair to his liking, finishing it off with scented gel.
Sunny is definitely more likely to make small talk with you, but I was perfectly content with Angela’s level of talkativeness. I actually liked being able to catch up on some news with the television playing in the background when the talking petered out.
My haircut was $ 25, and my male friend’s haircut was $ 12. We both tipped generously. We were very pleased with the service and care with which Sunny and Angela cut our hair. We’ll be back again, and will be recommending Sunny’s Salon to our friends! =D

I was around the area and decided to Unilocal some good hair salon/​barbershop and I came across Sunny’s. I came in told them what I wanted and they gave me what I needed. I’ll definitely be coming back in the future.

Absolutely the best barber shop I’ve ever been too! Not only are the employees super welcoming the environment is relaxing. Sunny did a superb job on my haircut way better than any military post area I’ve been to. They do have a military special of 9 $ for active duty and other discounts to take advantage of.
Long story short we are traveling from Fort Hood TX, came to Tacoma to visit friends. Desperately needed a haircut and found this barber here on Unilocal due to great reviews! Highly recommend this shop to those who admire precise haircuts.

I needed a haircut bad one day and could not find anything open until 10 on the weekend but Sunnys was open @ 8am. Sunny’s sister cut my hair and did an amazing job. They were very polite and professional. Highly recommend them. There price beats supercuts…

Five star hair cut, five star price. Less expensive than on base and about a thousand times better. Do yourself a favor and come here next time you need a haircut.
