Went in with a pair of glasses that had broken, but were not covered under warranty. They did everything they could to help. They were very friendly as well

best place ever all day!!! guy helped me within seconds and made my glasses and took my prescription would recommend everyone to go here only super friendly. want to say thank you to Lee for helping me out!!! thank you!!!

because the optometrist was apparently late for something, he rushed my eye exam and gave me the wrong prescription on my contacts. since then i found a new eye doctor who actually asked me who i saw before because my contacts werent fitting right but i didnt know at all, i just thought they were supposed to be that uncomfortable. unfortunately i have permanent damage in my eyes now.

My experience here was okay. I went in for a contact lenses fitting (first time fee of either $ 70-​$ 75) and an eye exam for an updated prescription for glasses. The people were pretty polite, they weren’t rude or unpleasant. The only thing that’s made me really upset with this place is that I ordered glasses online using the prescription they gave me (the glasses one, not the contacts) and I filled in the information perfectly and accordingly. But when I received them, they were a bit blurry in my right eye. I emailed the company I ordered the glasses from and they told me to send them a copy of the prescription I used. So, since I didn’t have the original copy (only had a picture of the original copy), I called them to prepare another for me. When I got it, I noticed that the OD axis was a –0.75 instead of a +0.75 that was on the original prescription sheet. So now, I have to pay extra to ship them back and will only be getting at most a 50% store credit refund. :(Really inconvenienced me and I’m really upset about it.
Update: As soon as I posted my review that included my problem, they contacted me. I was not really expecting that, and I’m pretty impressed. They apologized and said it was a mindless mistake, offering to let me come in and have my lenses redone by them. Which is what I am doing right now. :) I was a bit harsh earlier and let my anger take over. I am now pleased with this place due to how they are willing to help you. Thank you so much!

I had a perfect experience at Tacoma Eyecare Center. My appointment was scheduled at 11:30, it’s 11:45 and I have a new prescription and my new frames are having lenses put in them as I type. Dr. Gim and his staff are friendly, thorough, and extremely helpful. The office itself is spotless and has a comfortable atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back for my yearly!

This place was so unfriendly. The receptionist had a totally bitter look on her face and acted completely put out when we arrived. She had no zip and a stone face with the personality of a wet noodle. The doctor was super rude and rushed us like he was frustrated giving an eye test. In the future, we won’t stray from our regular eye doctor, Dr. Barry Hughes. He’s nice and he’s thorough and seems to like people unlike the doctor and the staff at Tacoma Eye Care Center.

I’ve been to a lot of eye doctor, but this is truly the best care I have ever received. The staff is really nice too.

Dr. Gim was very professional, thorough and knowledgeable equipped with up to date high end system. The staff was pleasant and efficient also.
I had early stage of macular degeneration and very worried about how it was going to be developed in the future. Dr Gim made me easy and not too concerned about my condition. I felt that I was in good hands.
They also have nice selection of eye glasses, so it was a one stop shopping for all the eye care needs for me!

The two highlights of this optometerist: Service was good and they had a good selection of higher end frames. There was a little glitch with the lab but I got updates by phone about when my frames would be ready.
The only drawback is that they close early and aren’t open on weekends. It’s an issue if you have to pick up glasses during the work day.
Overall, though, the service part was worth it.
