Best skate shop in CLE! The staff is very helpful to this mom of a skate enthusiastic daughter. Prices are higher than the Internet shops, but their awesome staff naked up for the higher prices.

Like I’m an over 50 female; took my grandkids here and was SO impressed I wish i boarded! What a great example of they’re heart and soul in this 3 room deep store layout. who knew all this was inside! Like something you would find in Miami beach… awesome!

The selection, service, and history are unmatched. This is the only shop in town.

Having never skateboarded in my life before, I began to worry when my girlfriend started talking about buying a long board. I wanted to surprise her for her birthday but didn’t really know much, if at all anything, about longboards. I stopped by West Side Skates to get the lo-​down on what I need, whats good, and whats proven to work well. Brian (the owner) was extremely helpful in piecing the board together from the ground up, explaining the different parts for the different riding styles. I was really happy with the customer service, and my girlfriend loves her board. Thanks again westside!

I’ve been in plenty of skate shops in many different cites and would dare to say that this is now my favorite. The staff was friendly without being in your face and mostly let you roam but was there to answer questions if I had any. And there’s plenty of merchandise to check out so plan on roaming.
But the real star-​earner here is the selection and prices. Sale prices aren’t necessarily door busters but quite reasonable for good brands in an independently owned shop. I’ve never seen a bigger selection of shoes outside of a catalog. All your favorite brands when it comes to decks too and a real good selection of longboards considering it’s in Cleveland, Ohio.
Will definitely be stopping back when I have more dough in my wallet.

What can I say? This is the best skate shop in the CLE! I’ve worked for skateboard companies in various positions, and have seen a lot of great retailers come and go throughout the years. West Side hit a goldmine when they started out across the street from one of the biggest high schools in the area.
The key to this success is the fact that they are well ingrained in the community of skateboarding, and they’re truly passionate about it. This isn’t a trend-​driven shop. It is owned and operated by skateboarders. Plus, the entire building is set up for skate events like video premiers and demos. They’re well connected with Pros from across the spectrum!
If you’re a parent, and confused about your kid’s love for the, errr — «sport»? This is the place you should be shopping. Skip the mall and support your local skateshop instead. They only carry the coolest brands… that way your kid won’t end up looking like a dork.
