I’ve probably only been to Cactus Liquor a dozen or so times but I always thought it was a solid place. The prices are fair, the people are friendly, and theres a decent beer selection. The last time i stopped in for a six pack, however, there was a HUGE problem. About a month ago i found myself in the neighborhood and decided to stop in and grab a six pack. After a quick look through the beer coolers I settled on a six pack of Ranger IPA, walked up to the front of the store and set it on the counter. The clerk picked up the six pack and started turning it in his hands to look for the price tag. Thats when I noticed that two of the bottles had some sort of white mold on them. I pointed it out to the clerk and he said«Its only on the outside, you can wipe them off.» I must have been visibly appalled by this statement because he quickly added«I’m sure we have other six packs of this, would you like to get another?» I said«Sure» and turned to walk back to the cooler, thats when he asked me if I could put the six pack with the moldy bottles back in the cooler. WTF? I walked out and haven’t been back since. I dont want to drink moldy beer any more than I want to eat moldy bread.

Even though I’m sometimes afraid to walk in, I’ve always liked Cactus Liquor. Friendly folks behind the counter. They will order any kind of keg beer for you. Everything you’d want in a a liquor store.
