Lancaster Airport

Flancaster Airport is where you go for Mexican Flan. But like Jesus said, let he who is without dessert Cast the first Flan.
A long time ago, I took a short flight from this airport. The views were amazing. I could clearly see downtown Toronto, and my own house… which I was right on top of. Awesome. My flight mates were an old guy, a young guy, and a stunning girl (sounds like the beginning of a joke). And she was absolutely stunning. In fact she kept annoying me by being so stunning, it was distracting me from the beautiful views in every direction. It was one of the most memorable flights of my life. I did get flight sick though. I was honestly sick for days afterwards, which is why I haven’t done it again lately. Blurgh.
Anyway it’s a lovely little airport with a nice room for pilots to hang out in, and cool, big clean hangars. Everyone there was very friendly, and I feel like real men prefer to keep their planes in big hangars instead of tiny tight-​fit hangars anyway. No?

Home to the WNY Flying Club (4 planes in hangers), Clear Air Aviation and a few others, the Lancaster airport is a smaller facility mainly used for private plane storage, lessons, etc.
The runway is only around 3200ft, paved well and I’ve taken off a plane from it when I took a flying lesson here many years ago.
I’m not sure exactly how much it would cost to rent hanger space here, but I can say that the facilities seem to be clean and well maintained with a key code that you need to know to enter the gate. I haven’t ever run into staff here… mostly just private pilots, but I’m grateful to see such a small airport in use for flying lessons.

As regional airports go, this is one of my favorites. Nice long 5500 foot runway and a wind sock! There’s also a respectful cross wind on the runway that makes some landings — exciting. Easy access, plenty of room and storage hangars as well.
If you’re a new pilot it’s a nice place to land without worrying about BUF-NIA’s air traffic and jet blasts. No additional services or FBO but great ease of use.
