We recently found ourselves trapped with 2 suddenly hungry kids in the Oxford Valley Mall and decided to try our luck in their food court. Bistro Sensations, even with their awful 80’s neon sign and name, looked to be the best of the bunch. We got a Cobb salad, 2 chicken noodle soups, and 2 chicken Rio sandwiches. The salad was fair, but there was way too much lettuce and just a smattering of very tiny chicken pieces. It was fresh though and probably would be a big hit for anyone who adores salads that are mostly iceberg lettuce. The chicken noodle soup was surprisingly fresh and eatable, but the ingredient ratio was crazy off; it was like 94% carrots/celery 5% chicken and 1% noodles. Not sure what happened there. More noodles would have been nice! Lastly, the chicken Rio, which was pre-made and had pre-grilled bread was the biggest disappointment of the bunch. It looked a bit sad in the display case so I asked them to heat and crisp it up that cool sandwich press of theirs. They did throw them on there for a few minutes, but the heat setting must have been very low because the sandwich wasn’t crispy at all nor hotter than room temperature. Huge bummer. The food was about what you’d expect for a mall. Not a horrendous meal at all, but certainly not very interesting either. That said, if we weren’t in a food court, there’s almost zero chance we would have eaten here.

I work at the mall, and on my breaks this is my go to spot. Their salads and sandwiches are fresh!!! I usually get the create your own salad, but I have tried their sandwiches. The Veggie Sandwich is my personal favorite. They also have my favorite iced tea in the mall.(I am a HUGE iced tea fan)… The staff can sometimes be rude and inattentive. I have had very nice people help me, but there are some rude and sarcastic workers there too.
