My husband and I have been ordering from Harvest Local Foods for over a year now and we love it. The produce is fresh and beautiful, the meat comes from cruelty free farms, and there is always something special and new to try every week!

Fantastic service! I live in Philadelphia most of the week these days, and I have to say being able to have fresh eggs, meat, and produce delivered to my door is amazing. It is pricy, but I have had lovely interactions with the women that run the service. They are kind, helpful women that really care about having a great service. I have also ordered from other services in the Philly area, and this is by far the best. Unlike the other services, they provide everything in coolers instead of cardboard boxes and plastic. Also, the eggs were SO much fresher than anything I have had since I was a child(I lived on a farm and we had our own chickens). Trust me, you can taste the difference. The only reason I took off one star is because I wish they had an automated delivery box of produce that came every week. There are other services that do this in Philly, however, their produce isn’t as fresh and good as Harvest Local.

We signed up for Harvest Local Foods on the suggestion from a Facebook group. We are on our fourth order and I have to say we really love this service. Every Saturday starting at 6PM ordering opens — closes the following Wednesday. The variety is great — everything from produce to prepared foods to meats to household items like cleaning supplies. Your order is packed in a cooler with ice packs and left where you designate two days after ordering closes. Everything we’ve gotten is fresh and high quality. We didn’t love everything we ordered(I make a better chili, but we are particular) but we love that it’s all local, all high quality, mostly organic and super convenient. Yes, it’s more expensive than going to the Giant. It’s also local, small, and there are no ‘economies of scale’ or imports from Chile to sell. I am OK with paying a little more as it supports local and more of that local spend comes back into our community!

I love this place! It took some getting used to, but now I order every week or two. I first started buying from them at the Lansdowne Farmers Market, and felt lost when the season was over. Now I can get local, organic or chemical-free produce, and local, small farm eggs, meats and honey whenever I want! They sometimes are a little more expensive then Whole Foods, but I like supporting a local business. Also, ordering helps me plan healthy meals dependent on whole foods, instead of the«natural» but processed stuff that I’m tempted to buy at a bigger supermarket. You can also shop in the store Thursday & Friday 4−7pm and Saturday’s(I’m not sure when they open)-2pm.

Way over-priced and I missed the Wednesday 8 am cut-off for ordering? Really? You can’t just write my name down for milk tomorrow or something? Anyway, this will force me to find an alternative for the week negating that $ 10 delivery fee that officially makes my milk $ 20 a gallon. And everything else was more expensive than Whole Foods anyway. Sheesh.

I started ordering from Harvest Local on a friend’s recommendation and have been very happy with the produce and meats they deliver. The quality and variety of the food is excellent, and so is the service. I don’t know what I would do without Harvest Local.

This is a great little business. THey deliver awesome produce and local ingredients plus have a small storefront. SO great, its a little pricey, but for the ease of use and the quality, its not a big deal. THe 2 owner ladies are super helpful. Check out their website, its great.

Farm Fresh Express makes it SO easy to eat local, it’s almost ridiculous that anyone WOULDN’T use them. Basically, FFE goes to the local producers for you, so all you have to do is order and pay. No excuses, people! FFE offers basically EVERYTHING. All sorts of meat, dairy products, fruits and veggies, baked goods and mixes, dry goods, grains, snacks, juices, salad dressing… even non-food items like soap, or a very good cookbook for how to cook in season. I meant it when I said«everything.» Products are clearly marked as «Local»(most), «Regional,» «Domestic,» or «Americas.» I seriously love this place. There’s even a delivery service, although I live close enough not to use that. The bonus for going into the store is that you can see all the cool stuff that’s not listed on their website, like ICECREAM! AND, they give you a free keychain with your first order. It does not get much better than this, people.
