I just moved to Lansing a couple of years ago and when I got here I couldn't find a good pizza place to save my life...that Is until I discovered Toarmina's 6 months ago. I love that it is not a huge corporation but a small quaint family owed business. I love their steak and cheese pizza..its a perfect blend of yumminess for me and my boyfriend. And when I am not feeling like pizza my go to is their meatball sub. I just love the staff and It means a lot to me that they know me as a regular now. Thanks guys!! I appreciate you.

Totally fine pizza that fills the niche of: quick, cheap, acceptable. The crust isn’t good. It is nothing.

The food always seems old with poor quality ingredients. Most of the people who work here are really rude and unpleasant. Maybe it’s ok if you’re running in for a quick slice… otherwise stay away. It’s also very dirty and sticky.

After coming from a performance on Saturday night at The Avenue, formerly Gone Wired Café, I was craving something that wasn’t fast food nor too upscale. As it was still open until midnight and I’d never heard of it before, I figured I’d give Toarmina’s a try. I’ll tell you up front: You don’t come here for the atmosphere. It’s small(4 tiny tables, 2×4 seats and 2×2 seats). They may also have the business next door, but that was closed/closed off. This is definitely a place you get things to go or order delivery. As I’m not a huge pizza lover, I opted for the Grilled Chicken Grinder to take home, which ended up being only about $ 6.50 with tax(probably less). They probably have a late-night discount, because it was listed as $ 6.49 originally. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality. It took about 10 minutes to make, because they make it to order. The grilled chicken was either dipped, marinated, or just cooked in Italian dressing. I have recently become a big fan of Italian dressing because of the street foods of NYC. Otherwise, the grinder had no other«sauce» or dressing and was topped with lettuce, onion, tomato and«cheese». It was surprisingly good. I mean, the vegetables were all fresh, except for the onion, which had quite a bite, but wasn’t bad. The onion was just a little strong, but had good flavor and firmness. Their claim to fame is their 24″ pizza, which each slice apparently is about a foot long. I think that could be good for large groups or parties for sure. I know this place hasn’t received great reviews, but I have to admit: I will be going back and likely soon.

Some good and bad things about this place. First, the other review is correct in the fact that the crust tastes like nothing. The premium pizzas with toppings styles are good. Greek pizza was pretty good. We ordered a half and half pizza and they completely messed up our order. Put pepperoni instead of mushrooms(And I’m a vegetarian). Called them and it took them a solid 5 minutes to get the hang of what just happened. Not that complicated. Went back to pick up the correct pizza and now it’s a small instead of a medium like I paid for(Mushrooms are from a can too fyi). They refunded the difference. Just average overall. May go back, but in no rush.

This was basically a 24″ wad of dough with absolutely no flavor(unless cardboard counts). Ordered the Titanic deep dish with mushrooms. The mushrooms were from a can. The sauce was almost non-existent. The pizza was not cooked in the middle. Will not return.

We tried the 24″ round Deluxe pizza last night and loved it! They were more than accommodating when ordering and the pizza was cooked to perfection. Now we will have delicious leftovers for days!

This restaurant hasn’t been open long. We decided to try it after reading a review in the City Pulse. After calling in the pizza for pick-up, we went looking for it. We finally found it in a small building with several other businesses. Parking is okay. There is some street parking right on Michigan Avenue and a parking lot behind it, but we didn’t see an entrance from the back so you have to walk around. When we went in to get the pizza, the inside wasn’t very nice. Not really a place to sit while waiting. It also looked a bit empty and rough. The front food display case was empty. The person in charge was definitely training people telling the new person multiple times what to do. But none of this was too bad. The pizza is what counts. We got our pizza and made our way home. When we opened the pizza box, we saw it covered in green peppers. When we placed the order, we had asked for no green peppers. When we called the restaurant, the manager said we said no onions. He wouldn’t even talk to us. He just told the other employee on the phone that we said no onions and left it at that. I don’t think so but okay. No simple apology or anything saying that just perhaps he heard incorrectly. It’s not like we were expecting a new pizza or anything. We just wanted him to be aware. What we didn’t expect was a blanket denial with no chance he could be wrong. Now onto the pizza. The pizza was good. It wasn’t the best pizza ever. I’ve had more toppings on other pizzas. So the City Pulse article saying the toppings are engulfed in cheese and their policy is «go heavy or go home» wasn’t true in our experience. Despite picking off green peppers, it did taste good, but not any better than other places. You can get same quality or better pizzas at better prices elsewhere. Other places also have better customer service. We’ll skip this place in the future.
