Cravings Gourmet Popcorn

A nice little addition to old town, was checking this place out as we waited for a table at Meat next door.
An interesting type of joint to open up (focusing primarily on popcorn), this place offers a variety of popcorn, from your standard (caramel, cheese, etc.) to the unique (jalapeño, candied, etc.) popcorn enthusiasts are sure to find something to satiate their popcorn craving.
An unexpected find here was that they also offer a variety of root beers. I’m not talking about the stuff you find at Meijer, I’m talking random root beers like red arrow, and others that came from cities I didn’t even know I existed.
The person working there was knowledgeable and friendly, and help me pick out a nice little 4 pack of root beers to try. My son loves popcorn, so we bought a bag of caramel corn for him, and he loved it. The root beers were ok, but I’d be interested in going back to pick out some other ones.
OVERALL– if you’;re looking for a higher quality popcorn and or root beer, come check this place out. You may surprised at what you find.

I love the Spicy Taco popcorn! It really does have a similar flavor to the nacho cheese Doritos and isn’t really spicy!

Have to applaud the guys at Cravings for their truly delicious flavor combos. I never knew popcorn could be this good! Added bonus: it’s the perfect appetizer/​time kill for peeps waiting in line to get a table at Meat, which is just a few doors down.
For traditionalists, their Chicago Style is a must. For more adventurous snackers, the Chicken and Waffles flavor nails this brunch favorite with surprising accuracy. And the Dark Molasses Caramel with Sea Salt? Yaasssss. That is my everything.

The first time I walked in, I was expecting a simply ok place. I grew up with the idea from my family that Garret’s popcorn was where it was at.
Holy moly, the dark molasses and sea salt popcorn just absolutely blew me away. Mix that up with some white cheddar and I am officially a believer in Cravings.

A friend brought me some popcorn as a gift while pregnant. It completely hit the spot! The first time I was back in Lansing, I made sure to stop by. My daughter (who loves popcorn and pickles) was so excited that her 2 favorite snacks were combined. She had a hard time choosing cheddar or pickle. I personally am a sweet snacker. I absolutely am in love with the dark molasses and sea salt! OMG… So good! Will be coming back again next time we’re in town or on our way to the east side to visit friends!

Folks, this is it when it comes to popcorn and soda pop. Chad and his team are passionate about their products and it shows. My favorite popcorn blend is the buffalo caramel — a perfect balance of sweet and savory, with just enough heat! We will often take a bag or two of popcorn to parties instead of the standard bottle of wine — the hosts always appreciate it and it is always a big hit with the guests!

Delicious, fresh popcorn, and a cool selection of sodas. I cannot fathom why the beverages are not refrigerated, though. An ice cold soda would have been the perfect complement to the white cheddar corn we purchased. Still, a great place to stop by when in the area.

This place is phenomenal!!! Cravings represents small business at its best. You can try flavors before buying, and the pricing is quite reasonable. The staff is friendly, and they seem like they genuinely love what they do. I love the caramel corn — it is obviously made fresh. As someone with peanut and nut allergies, I am so happy that I can try every flavor this place makes because all varieties are nut and peanut-​free.

Cravings is a wonderful shop to pick up gifts, tasty snacks and unique cane sugar sodas. Plus, the owner is a peach and the staff have always cheerfully helped me!
It’s in the heart of Old Town, really easy to get to, with street parking.
I’ve bought treats at Cravings several times for teachers, parties, sporting events, and just for lounging at home. Never had a bad flavor! Every time I’ve gone in there have been lots of kinds to try before you settle on one. Or four. :)

Quite possibly my favorite place in Lansing! I had it for the first time about 2 years ago when my mom sent it to me as a finals week treat and I’ve been hooked ever since. The buffalo cheddar is my favorite, but you really can’t go wrong with any flavor. The best part is the tasting station where you can try each flavor before you buy! Definitely worth the special trip over to Old Town!

There’s a reason it’s called Cravings. In addition to addicting flavors, Cravings offers great customer service that will keep any customer coming back for more. Friendly employees, great products and an owner who gives back to his community are a recipe for success. Chad Jordan is someone who listens to his customers and gives them what they want — always with a smile. I’d recommend Cravings to anyone.

Completely awesome! They have the best popcorn! Love the tasting station. I took my 13 year old daughter and her friends in there to pick out their own popcorns for a sleepover. They had a blast! Each was able to make their own combinations. Great prices for the different sizes. Love all the options. Staff is very friendly and helpful! My favorites are the cheddar cheese flavors (all of them) and white cheddars. I even liked the dill pickle flavor, but would only put that as a small add in to a combo. We plan to buy their big popcorn buckets as thank you gifts for friends.

Friendly service… great popcorn. Love that they have samples and it served them well… I bought 6 different kinds! I have plans on going back weekly… nice fresh popcorn… already planning my Christmas shopping for my popcorn loving family!

I absolutely love Cravings. They’ve got some of the coolest popcorn flavors I’ve found but my favorite is the Signature Gold — sweet, salty, buttery, and delicious. My absolute favorite thing about Cravings is how fantastic the ownership and staff are. Such friendly faces and so much creativity all in one places just takes the cake.

Good stuff! Great location and store. Nice selection of pop and popcorn. The owner seems like a very earnest guy.

Cravings is the best popcorn place I’ve ever been to — it’s fantastic! I’ve never had a bad flavor, but the Signature Gold and Original Caramel are particularly good. There are samples so you can try any new flavors they might have.

This place is no Garrett’s popcorn, but in my opinion it is still darn good! This is a very cute little popcorn place located in Old Town district of Lansing. They have a variety of interesting and tasty popcorn flavors. My favorites are the apple cider popcorn and the old town mix which consists of cheddar cheese, white cheddar and caramel popcorn. Delicious! If you are in the mood for a good snack, go to Cravings Popcorn.

This is undoubtably the best popcorn place in Ingham county. This store has many popcorn choices, some stranger than others (i.e. dill pickle), but most will leave you satisfied.

I love this popcorn! They have so many interesting flavors, sweet ones and savory. My favorite is the premium signature gold, which is like a brown sugar and buttery salt flavor. You can try all of the flavors before you buy them. I love the cajun cheddar and the dill pickle. And you can mix flavors! The old town mix is white cheddar + caramel– amazing!
The store also carries a ton of bottle pop. It is a great place for a snack. And they do so many giveaways– the owner is so generous. And he comes up with new flavors all of the time!

Cravings is delightful! My mom and I wandered in here to grab some corn for my caramel corn loving father and we were not disappointed! We were able to sample 9 or so flavors before making our selection. They had flavors from caramel, sweet golden cinnamon, bacon cheddar, apple cider cinnamon, buffalo cheddar, etc. and all were delicious! A pleasant young girl was working behind the counter and offered her assistance, but never rushed us at all. Another two gentlemen were working, both of whom made eye contact and smiled.
The store is also decked out in other corn making essentials like popping bowls and ingredients for you to pop your own popcorn. In addition, there are specialty bottles of soda along the walls in case you want an original drink to go along with your original snack. Big bags of corn were about $ 6.50 or so. We ended up going for the white cheddar and caramel. This would be a great place to grab a snack for a holiday party at work or just because. The girl who helped us said that they have been at this location since February 2010 and I hope they are here for a long time to come. This place is definitely a Lansing gem!
Note: If you don’t plan to eat your popcorn the same day, I’d suggest double bagging it for freshness.
