Great food. Terribly long wait, both outside and in. They really don’t know how to manage ticket times. Having said that, the food is really truly great and very creatively put together. It has a fun atmosphere. Just make sure you have HOURS to kill to get your breakfast or lunch.

Great food! It’s small so there’s always a little waiting but definitely worth every minute. They friendly customer service, art and decorations all over. It’s a nice spot that I’ll take my friends to who aren’t from around here.

Favorite breakfast place ever! Always worth the long wait times. Order off of the specials board, that’s where the best stuff is! Although you can’t go wrong with the standard menu either. Favorite thing I’ve ever had was triple berry French toast

NEVERDISAPPOINTSUS! We’re Canadians but our American friend introduced us to this amazing one of a kind breakfast hot spot! This one of a kind, home made, rock and roll hot spot is the best breakfast I have ever had! They are family run and don’t give a F what people think! I love the cap n’ crunch French toast! But what ever you order won’t disappoint! That 1 hour — 2 hour wait is totally worth it!!! Just go see for yourself is all I can say. It’s like nothing else I’ve ever experienced! **** Props to the owners you take breakfast to another level! ****

My friend and I visited Golden Harvest for the first time and were really looking forward to it after reading all of the glowing reviews! We got there very early on a Saturday morning and did our time waiting in live as we were prepared to do. After an hour wait, we were seated at the counter and were surprised to hear music blasting at 9:30AM. However, we went with it because we heard the food was to die for. I ordered the Captain Crunch French Toast, as I was recommended to do by a friend. It may have been an off day for the Chefs, or the fact that we had high expectations after hearing everyone rave about it but neither of us were happy with our food. The french toast was dry and the outside of it was burnt. Hopefully we’ll have a better experience if we ever go back!

Litterally the strangest resteraunt I’ve ever been to. This place is the Mecca of all that is hipster. Their portion sizes are huge and the food was quite delicious.

Would get 5 stars for sure if they had more gluten free choices, and bigger portions for the dirty home fries. Food is excellent. I really like the dirty home fries. Even just a spelt bread toast option, or some gluten free bread, would be fabulous! Also I like that they have nice hot sauces and ketchup on the table, and they have REAL butter. Delicious! Will be back.

1. There will be a long line(at least 45 – 60 minutes) to even get in. If you don’t want to wait, then come 30 – 45 minutes before they open. Also, dress appropriately when its cold! 2. There will be a long wait to get your food. If you don’t want to wait, then go somewhere else. The restaurant is tiny and always busy. Give them a break! 3. If you don’t like the loud music — go elsewhere. 4. You may be sitting at a table with random people. Its a small space. You’ve already waited(likely in the cold) for a long time so you’ll be happy to sit anywhere. Plus, you never know, maybe you’ll sit with someone who will become a great friend. maybe? 5. Likely not child-friendly for the aforementioned reasons. 6. CASHONLY. Hit up the ATM before you go. You’ve been warned. If you can deal with the above, then prepare yourself for one of(if not the absolute) best breakfasts you’ve ever had. Yes, its that good. We drove from Ann Arbor(almost 1 hour away) for this. Then waited in line for 1 hour(in the cold and snow, mind you). Then waited even longer for our food. STILLTOTALLYWORTHIT — 5STARS! We started with biscuits and gravy. Very savory and delicious. Covered in their amazing gravy. Then I had the strawberries and cream French toast. I think its one of the best I’ve ever had. It was not overly sweet, and since I tend to like things less sweet I didn’t put any maple syrup on it and it was perfect. The French toast was moist in the center and lightly crispy on the outside. The whipped cream was again not too sweet and very light. It came with some cooked potatoes and side of meat — I picked bacon. The potatoes were seasoned well, and crispy. The bacon was also good. My boyfriend had an omelette(Tammy’s Nekid Scramble) which was also very good. It had delicious meaty sausage(which I thought was better than my bacon), onions, peppers and cheese topped with sour cream and salsa. It also came with potatoes and Toast. The portions are generous but we were so hungry we finished everything in the restaurant. We left full but not uncomfortably stuffed. We will DEFINITELY be back, but maybe when its not so cold.

This place is an experience. You should aim to arrive early or go in the middle of the week. Bring cash and be prepared to wait in line for quite a while. The ambiance is kitschy and cool. The portions are huge and the food is good.

Having lived in Chicago for nine years, I originally moved to Lansing expecting the foodie in me to be disappointed. Golden Harvest is one of a number of reasons that my inner foodie continues to be quite content despite my change in geography. With an atmosphere that is definitely unique, with 1950s B movies running in the background and punk rock blaring over the speakers, you know you’re in for an interesting experience. The food excellent with huge portions, but don’t forget to hit the ATM on your way here as they don’t take credit cards. Yes, you often end up waiting as the place doesn’t seat more than 20 – 30 people, and if it’s just you and a friend you can expect to sit with people that will become your friends. While I understand there are many people that cannot stand the thought of waiting for a restaurant, particularly when it’s outside in winter, I assure you the wait is well worth it.

This place is the mothafuckin’ gem of gems. Small space huge portions. The killer breakfast sand.(Not on menu, but on special board sometimes I heard.) was out fucking standing. The music was loud and I liked it. The staff was friendly n I couldn’t drink enough coffee or water to reach the bottom of my glass. The spicy mayo on the sand was really a wonderful touch to the Sandwich. If I lived in the town, I’d be here weekly. I suggest sliding in on a counter seat. I love to sit and watch the cook do work on 32 items at once.

This place is what I like to call«Lansing good.» The food is good. But it’s standard in places like GR or Detroit. I had a breakfast burrito dealie that was tasty and had plenty of leftovers. We sat at the bar which was fun because you’ll have a wait, but at least you can watch the cooks go. All in all, I refuse to stand outside in a line for pretentious food that isn’t out of this world. That being said, it probably is the best in Lansing. My advice is to lower your standards a little and go to Fleetwood to get their hippy hash. Almost Golden Harvest quality but you’ll be in and out within an hour.

Best breakfast I’ve had in years! Service was amazing. Super attentive and friendly. The food was great. I had the biscuits & gravy, cheesy grits, The King waffle, and the Hash Bash omelette. Everything was awesome! In Lansing visiting my wife’s family. Told her I would come back anytime for the breakfast alone! If you have to wait, WAIT! Totally worth it!

I came solo on a weekday afternoon and took a seat at the bar. It took me awhile to decide but I ended up having one of their specials — «Smash it up!» It’s an omelette with bacon, portabello, caramelized onions potatoes jalapeños cheddar and spicy mayo with fries. I thought it was great. Large portions and got me pretty full. The potatoes were nice too. Not too salty but still tasted great. Bacon and bacon bits were great(when isn’t bacon great?)! I would recommend Golden Harvest to others, and would come back if in the area. TIP: CASHONLY! TIP2: No take out orders.

I had to give 3 stars for a reason though I want to give 5 stars for the food. But unfortunately for me the entire dining experience starts from the moment you wait to get your table until you come out after dining. I had to wait for 1.5 hrs on a Sunday morning to get inside the restaurant. We got good seats in front of the chef’s counter which I think is cool. Loud music inside the restaurant, and some have to share the table which I don’t mind doing for good food. Because of holiday season there was only one chef so we waited for 1 hour to get our food. No complaints about the food it was amazing. The quantity was more than sufficient. There was no rush from anyone to finish our food sooner. I felt the restaurant should be spending couple of $ to build something outside as a temporary cover or something to show they care about their customers. You have to wait outside even if it’s –30 outside. And the waiting would take atleast an hour. So I somehow feel they don’t care about their customers. That’s y 3 stars for this place and my experience.

I would give this place 5 stars for the food! Part of me wanted to give it 4 just because of the wait, but honestly it was so worth it! I’d been to Lansing a few times before but this was the first time I’d ever eaten at Golden Harvest. It was a breakfast suggestion by one of our MSU friends so we went on our last day before driving back to Chicago. It was mid-morning maybe about 9:30 or 10 and there were a few people in line ahead of us. We waited probably a little under an hour to get a table(luckily it wasn’t too cold out) and once we did our orders got place pretty quickly. The wait time for our food was kind of long but like I said it was well worth it. The menu had such unique items and I really wanted to try them all but in the end I ordered the Hash Bash. For starters, the portions here are HUGE. This was probably one of the biggest omelets I’ve ever seen. The corned beef in it was REAL corned beef(none of the canned stuff!) and the mushrooms and onions weren’t overcooked. The home fries were also great and nice and crispy on the edges. We all ended up eating off of each other’s plates because everything just looked so good. I’ll say that it tasted even better than it looked! Next time I’m in the Lansing area, I hope I get the chance to eat here again!

I’d make another trip to Lansing just to come to golden harvest. The food their is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is really funky(in a good way) as well. Pro tip: they don’t have an actual wait list so you have to know who’s before you. I got the killer sandwich with dirty home fries. Making the home fries dirty is essential. Dirty meaning there’s feta, scallions and shallots. The sandwich consists of cheese, eggs, avocados, and bacon. There was also some jalapeño mayo. The sandwich was absolutely amazing. It’s literally one of the best things I have ever eaten. Everything worked so well together. There can be a wait but it’s so worth it. I came in hungry and left full. Definitely worth the trip if you’re in any parts of Michigan.

This place is not a place you go to for a quick breakfast. Overall it took our party of two three hours for the wait and the meal. However, it was well worth the wait. Besides the food being amazing you also go for the experience! It is for one of those days you are in no rush and want to have an amazing breakfast. I got their«Suck it!» Omelette and it was amazing had a nice little spicy kick, along with a awesome side of biscuits and gravy. If I was to break it down food 5 stars service probably 4 would be 5 if the wait was not so crazy haha, but there is not a lot they can do about that. Overall defiantly 5 stars because I would defiantly go again if I have another day with the time to spare.
