I recommend this company highly! We booked a private wine charter for six people, a bachelorette party. All information provided while booking the excursion was clear and helpful. Rick was happy to answer all my questions, and offered tips and recommendations about the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Captain Scott. He was friendly, good-humored, and made sure we were well taken care of. The boat was beautiful. It was clean, and it felt new. There was a convenient cooler for our snacks and beverages, and a nice sound system with Bluetooth technology. Luckily, we had beautiful weather for our tour! This is a well run business. I hope I get the chance to return to Cayuga Lake for another tour with School’s Out Charters!

A wonderful and fun cruise with superb service! It was a very well articulated tour by our Captain Mike until we got stuck at a winery due to the unpredictable downpour. He took us to Treleaven by King Ferry Winery(super fun) and then Long Point Winery where we stayed put for a bit until one of our tour mates called Rick(the mastermind behind this operation) who ended up picking us up in his vehicle. Even though Mike had mentioned he saved the best for last and we couldn’t make it to that destination because of the storm situation, Rick made sure to find a place that measured up to the expectation. We ended at Bet The Farm which was a fabulous little place. He then drove us back to the boat(it was only a 10min cruise back to our cars) and it ended being an extremely nice end to our tour with the gals!

Had a great experience with captain Mike and Rick this weekend! We booked the tour knowing the rain could be a factor but Mike got us to 2 vineyards in between storms and shared fun facts and a lot of knowledge about the area and wineries. We got stuck in a storm at our second and Rick came and picked us up in his car and arranged a third tasting close by. Super accommodating and even bought us an extra tasting and refunded some of our money. I highly recommend schools out charters– best way to see the wineries and wonderful customer service!

We stayed in the Finger Lakes on Cayuga Lake and decided to go with School’s Out instead of a traditional land wine tour. We glad we did! Captain Rick was a great guide and we really enjoyed our entire day. We got to go to vineyards on both sides of Cayuga Lake in a fraction of the time it would take to drive and we got to spend the day on the water. It was beautiful and we loved every second. Definitely recommend to anyone!

Rick is a really friendly captain, with a ton of knowledge about the vineyards on Cayuga Lake. He’s completely unbiased about where he takes you. If you want to go to a particular place, he’ll call the vineyard, and transportation will meet you at the dock to take you to the tasting room. He makes the day more fun with a great attitude and some interesting stories about the lake and the communities around it. I would definitely charter a sip and sail with him again.
