The Cinnamon Shoppe and Deli

Okay, so this is the business listing for a sub shop, which is a little strange, but it’s one of very few places to get a sandwich in town without having to drive to another town. The shop is right across the street from Rogue Harbor Inn. It has a small gravel lot for parking and a few chairs outside if you wanted to eat there. There are also a few small booths inside if you’re not taking your eats elsewhere. When you pull up, the place looks like a dilapidated shack house, and I guess it still looks like that when you go inside. The small dining/​waiting area is surrounded by bookshelves covered with books for sale — each priced around $ 1. They appeared to be highlighting a soft-​cover copy of 50 shades of grey on my visit.
Hang a left when you enter and place your order with the guy on the grill behind the shelving. Pay after you receive your food. If you show up with the intention of ordering take out, expect a wait, as most other customers will have called in their orders. The food is standard backwoods sub shop fare. The cook used either a microwave or toaster about 7 different times before our order (two salads and a tuna sub) came out. Not sure what for. Price was reasonable at least, and the salad greens weren’t rotten. Not many fresh veggie options, and adding more toppings will cost you. Canned mushrooms? I think I’ll pass.
If you’re going to be in Lansing, and are starving, come here, or hit up the gas station on the way to Myer’s point. They also have a deli counter. If you want something delicious, drive to Ithaca and hit up Wegmans. Their subs look and taste fantastic.
