I love going to this garden shop with a stellar gift selection!
In the spring they are super helpful when planning a garden and planters.
In the fall they are helpful when I’m looking for a mum alternative — answer: giant kale!
The gift section is spectacular — if you can’t find something there then it either doesn’t exist or whomever your shopping for doesn’t really need a gift! I just stumbled upon an awesome card selection last time I was there.
This place is full of fun surprises, helpful staff, and great plant material!

I want to thank the staff here for the way they handled an emergency situation at the nursery. A couple of months ago my sister was buying some plants and when she asked for directions to a particular variety the staff person noticed she was having trouble speaking. She sat her down on a bench and called 911. Her quick action resulted in my sister getting a blood clot removed from her brain. This quick treatment prevented any disability or death. Thank you so much for saving my sisters life.

It’s like a little secret garden in sour Aushwitzesque Michigan. The grounds are beautiful, the flowers are well-​kept (you’ll pay more than usual, but you’re flowers will last longer with proper care), and the staff is EXTREMELY knowledgable and friendly.
There’s also a little garden accessory shop, with windchimes, lawn creatures, ornaments, and decorative wall art that I seriously recommend to people who are at a loss for what to get an aunt or someone you don’t really know well for their birthday… it’s come helpful a handful of times.
Van Atta’s is a Michigan must, at least for me, come Spring time.

Had to draw attention to the way Van Attas went above and beyond to deliver a flowers to a restaurant for a surprise anniversary celebration brunch for my parents. I was disappointed, but totally understood, that they didn’t offer Sunday delivery. When I explained what I was trying to do, only in an effort to get some guidance on how to make it happen within the operating allowances of Van Attas, they offered to just make the delivery on Sunday morning. This was truly going above and beyond, and I couldn’t have been more impressed with the service. As mentioned, we’ve used Van Attas for years, and this experience just further solidified our commitment to their store in the future. Thank you Van Attas for caring about your customers!

Van Atta’s is the whip when it comes to outdoor flowers, bushes & trees. I have been going there for years. Just walking through the greenhouses and fields is great. They have an awesome variety. Kinda a bit pricey, but good quality and tons of helpful knowledgeable people on staff to answer questions. Highly recommend you stop here before sprucing up your yard!

An amazing variety of flowers, bushes, trees, etc. The first few times you will probably feel a little overwhelmed because they have practically everything you would need to create the perfect garden. If you are new to gardening, don’t worry. There are lots of experts on hand to help you with your selection. They also have weekly classes in the summer.
