Ten minutes of my life that I will never recapture for my 6 a.m. Tuesday morning visit. Must have been shift change as I waited a full ten minutes inside the station waiting to be served. Kirk was my attendant today. Walking in the station, there was a single customer in front of me with his arms crossed. It appeared that he was upset. I was right. Shift change and Kirk was closing out his register. Not a single word from him about the inconvenience as I stared at myself in no fewer than five cameras from the video monitor. On the wall in front of me were over a dozen condom styles and various pain relievers. Had I not been on empty for my loaner car, I would have driven away. This was the only gas station at the Lantana Road exit and I didn’t feel like walking. After a full ten minutes, Kirk reopened his register — having not said a word the entire time. He helped the customer in front of me, then took my twenty. /s/William E. Lewis Jr., Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
