Great home style meals, large servings. Home made taste. I have taken the family here and never been disappointed. I like the chicken fried steak. The people are nice too.

We like to find the local spots, nice surprise! Ordered the tuna stuffed tomato, absolutely the best! Carrots slightly steamed, still firm but not crunchy, just like I like them. Nice seasoning of thyme, I think. Stuffed mushrooms were acceptable. New, eager to please waitress.

If you haven’t been here in the last month you really owe it to yourself to stop in. The new owners have cleaned the place up, implemented a much more interesting menu and are making some really good food. I have eaten here about 3 times in the past and the food was awful. Just had breakfast and the food was wonderful. Give the new owners a shot, they are working hard to turn the place around.

We have been to the Chuckwagon several times. It’s typically mediocre, sometimes better than others. Today was terrible. Service was terrible, the food was terrible, everything bad. By the time we even got our order in we were already ready to leave. Toast was not even toasted the butter was not even melted. My potatoes were so full of grease, I couldn’t even eat them. My sandwich was pathetic and missing the peppers. My husbands meal was terrible, he only ate half, and they forgot his toast. The waitress never even came back to check on our meals or we would have sent them back. We left and the bill was $ 38!!! She couldn’t even tell us why it was so much. We paid but we will not be back. It’s too bad.

We like going here in the early am for breakfast. The menu is a fun and mildly creative menu and the pancakes are actually Really good! Classic diner coffee, classic diner atmosphere, and classic Wyoming staff and style! Stop here if you want your diner fix!

Good place, very friendly. Great kids’ menu. I got a pulled pork sandwich and it was pretty much what you would get at a church picnic or neighborhood bbq. Kids really liked their food. Cool, rustic atmosphere. Nice service. The place is kind of dated. Bathrooms are clean, but seem really old. A very into a hodge-podge kitchen on the way there. I would go again, but I’d try something else on the menu. Prices are ok, but not great.

We’d been traveling for hours… and hours… and were tired and hungry. We pulled off in Laramie and hoped for the best. We got some gas and looked across the street and saw the Chuck Wagon. We were greeted by smiling, friendly folks. The menu is simple and very inexpensive. Everyone will find something there to eat. My family had big breakfast meals, hamburgers, chili dogs, pancakes, and I had the homemade potato skins. We were all very pleased with the food and left with full tummies. Our waitress was so helpful and happy. We also noticed that the staff seemed to know all the customers by name. The whole family ate big meals and we paid just over $ 30 for everyone! Wow! We will definitely stop in next time we’re in Laramie! ***I’d like to give it 5 stars, but I felt that it could have been a little cleaner.

Stopped for lunch. They seemed busy but attended to our table quickly. The food was excellent for the price and portions. One of our sides didn’t make it to the table until we were almost ready to leave. The bathroom had no hot water and seemed old and in disrepair. It appeared clean, and was at least functional in a basic sense. Would go again.

About a year into living here in Laramie and this place is in my favorites category. As a transplant from the Midwest, I was surprised there weren’t more«home cooked» food places or mom-and-pop places with comfort food. There are good breakfast diners in town(and this is one of them) but you can only eat so much chicken fried steak and breakfast burritos. Ive had here chicken and dumpling soup, fish sandwiches, fried chicken, a decent salad bar, and today’s special(5÷31÷15 — Sunday prime rib with soup baked potato and green beans for $ 13.95). This is one of the few sit-down places in town where the food is reasonably priced. I don’t know why Wyoming restaurants are exceptionally high priced for the caliber expected, but $ 30 or more for a mediocre steak doesn’t make sense here on the plains unless it’s because of high shipping costs with the trucking in bad weather. I don’t know. Anyway, this is place is always a sure thing. It’s not dirty, just dated — it’s a truck stop kind of place. You can imagine a scene from Cannonball Run happening in the parking lot or Flo from Mel’s Diner coming out from behind the kitchen counter to tell you to kiss her grits. No fuss.

Hole in the wall? The word is Rustic. A nice Mom and Pop diner. People are friendly, place is quiet. The food is good simple diner food. A welcome change from the usual stuff you find along the interstate. This is not a quick meal place that populate the U.S. The chili is good, I buy the home made part. Some places say home made, so long as home is Hormel. Really liked the onion rings, burger is pretty good. I have no problem eating here again when I pass through Laramie again.

I wish I could review the food here, but after waiting for a long period of time and tables that showed up after us putting there orders in, we never even got menus. If the horrible service is a indication of the food there I’m glad we never got a chance to eat.

So I’m only going to review what I actually ordered… Started with jalapeño poppers and they we’re delicious, and there we’re like 15 of them so I couldn’t eat them all. Had a chili corn chowder next which was also delicious but a little cold. Finally topped it off with a sirloin(I’m normally a filet guy but they don’t offer a filet) which was decent. Ordered it medium and it was a little overlooked but still good, about a 6.5−7 out of 10. Mashed potatoes and gravy we’re awesome. As far as the atmosphere, it is definitely a hole in the wall but a nice little change from the usual, it’s more of a diner than anything else.

I wanted to like this place. I loved the low key/welcoming feeling, reminded me of Finland. Everyone that walked in, knew«everyone». Unfortunately, the food was not good. My potatoes were burned, all it was, was crust with no flavor. The bacon was black too.

I don’t get all of the bad reviews. The food is good and the service is friendly. I don’t have any gripes. Except for a few flies flying around. They should do something about that. Otherwise, I am a fan!

Kind of a dumpy little diner, but I grew up eating at a place just like this with exactly this type of food. It was 11:30 on a Saturday but breakfast sounded good. Two over easy, patty sausage, hash browns, whole wheat toast and coffee was just the ticket. I am a crunchy hashbrown junky and they knew just how to cook them. One of those cool jelly packet holder made it easy to fill my need for lots of Concord Grape jelly on the toast. Food fit for a king’s breakfast. Only 3 stars? Kinda dirty and the bathroom made me feel like I needed to take a shower after I left the place. I don’t think they’ve dusted the woodwork since 1968. I’d still go back because the food was excellent.

A great stop, very close to the highway but primarily a draw for locals. How can you choose generic fast food when there’s a place like this for only a buck more? The décor is decades-old Western diner. The service and cooking can be as fast as you want it, we got in & out for dinner in under 40 minutes. Great prices, too: most sandwiches/burgers are $ 7-$ 8 with sides, bottomless coffee is $ 1.25.
