The Corner Store

Corner Store is a great variety store with an incredible array of items. They have a huge selection of magazines, cards, wrapping paper and party supplies, including helium balloons. They also carry a great collection of toys and activities for kids. They’re a great place to find the latest trends in toys — beanie boos, little japanese eraser animals, pokemon, etc. My favorite are the seasonal items — really unique little chocolate Santas, easter bunny pencils, etc. I always find fun and unique kid items here. And the people who work here are very kind and friendly.

This is a convenient local variety store with friendly staff in Larchmont. It is perfect for when you need it right now. They have a surprisingly wide variety of items from poker chips to Legos to Pokemon cards and magazines and lottery tickets. Of course you will pay a little extra for convenience which is okay by me since I always have a choice to visit the corporate big box store or Amazon online. I am a little surprised by some of the older negative reviews here on Unilocal.I guess the Internet has a negative bias with most happy customers not bothering to post. I hope this review helps to balance things a bit.

Unlike the other reviewers, I think this is a great store! While prices are on the higher side, it’s in such a convenient location so that’s to be expected. Staff is friendly, and the store sells an abundance of goods, from paper products to magazines to toys to drinks and snacks to stuffed amimals, this place has it all and more!

The customer service here is non existent. I purchased a faulty board game here for my kids and when I asked to exchange it, the cashier examined the game and then said it was my problem and that I should just «play it anyway.» When I pressed that this seemed unreasonable, she told me I would have to come back another time when the manager was there. She was curt and rude. I will not be giving this place any more business. Please take the 5 min drive up to Miller’s for games/​toys, it is SO much better and a true Mom and Pop. Miller’s knows how to treat a customer and how to keep one. Pretty much the opposite of Corner Store.

Overpriced to the point of being offensive… this store takes advantage of its location in a wealthy neighborhood, all items are at least 3X the price they would be anywhere else.
All sales are final, and a twenty dollar minimum is required to use a credit or debit card.
The staff are very rude (In addition to being hard to understand).

The Corner Store is overpriced and the only variety store in its part of Larchmont, an unfortunate combination for residents. Its central location in western Larchmont at the intersection of Chatsworth and Palmer (very near the Larchmont train station) put it at a very convenient location, which the owners have taken advantage of.
Almost everything is marked up to right below the threshold at which people will no longer buy items because they’re so pricey. The cashiers and other staff have been disrespectful and rude at times, but recently some have been friendly.
It continues to stay in business because of its location and because people won’t walk half a mile east down Palmer to CVS, which is more affordable.
