OK so we just came back from having a wonderful dinner at this place, first time there and was recommended by a fellow Unilocaler. To start with when you walk into the place you noticed right away that it’s extremely clean and very quaint, kind of cozy, and we were welcomed by the hostess/waitress. It’s a very small place and it looks like it’s typically a one seating type of restaurant with not a lot of tables being turned, but that’s a good thing and helps with it being quaint. Our waitress was fantastic, from helping us decide on a bottle of wine or what types of beers, she brought us out samples before we decided, she helped us with appetizers and main courses and also desserts. As far as food is concerned it was spot on, I had the chefs signature pork tenderloin with a brown gravy and mushrooms that was excellent, my wife had sauerbraten which was perfect. The bread they served before the meal which was a pretzel bread with a garlic herb butter was fantastic, the appetizers were excellent, and they have the best apple strudel I ever had in my entire life for dessert. I will definitely be going back there, we had reservations although it was not very busy that night but I understand it gets very busy at times and reservations would be a good thing as the place is quite small. All this added up to me deserves five stars as they hit the nail on the head across the board.

Ok, I don’t know what to say except my daughter’s comment«I am so happy right now. .» Great service, nice cozy atmosphere, reasonable prices, our waitress Lori was wonderful, and I could gush on and on. Pay this restaurant a visit, your taste buds will thank you.

Love the smell of pine and delicious food cooking as soon as you enter. Great beer on tap and the best sausage in town. Never a bad experience and always enjoyed ourselves in this fantastic establishment.

I have NEVER rated anything with a 1 in my entire life, but lunch was so bad that it’s going to be a long time before I can forget it. First — experience: I came in for lunch and there were only 7 other people in the restaurant. I sat for almost 10 minutes before the server came to take my order and then proceeded to order in German, since the menu is in German. The server asked me to just give her the number from the menu. Really? She doesn’t know the menu? Then I sat… and sat… and sat… Finally I just wanted to leave and so I told her to please make my food to-go. She told me it would be 10 more minutes(I’ve been here for 30 by now) and then she came back and said it will be right out. I gave her my card to pay and was then advised that they have a $ 10 minimum for credit cards. I advised her to add her tip so that my $ 8.30 meal would become $ 10 even. She brought me a slip for $ 10.30. Now, I’m generally not a picky person, but she didn’t even wait on me, and and now she thinks she deserves 30 cents more, also, it’s illegal to charge my card more than I designated. The food: I went very basic because I waited so long to order… Brat and bread with potato salad on the side. I was really excited about their homemade sausages, even though I was less excited about eating in my car. It was awful. Undercooked, yet charred on the outside. Weirdly mushy with none of the outer crunch you get with sausages in Germany.(Also for the record, I know by the type of sausage it is that it’s supposed to be red in the middle — it was still, indeed undercooked.) The ground insides themselves lacked seasoning and were generally not good. The roll(brotchen) was however, the best German brotchen I’ve had. I’m not going to sing the praises though because the bread should be an afterthought in a meal. The potato salad had none of that vinegar-y zing I crave in German Potato Salad. It was salty and greasy. Also the potatoes had a weird texture. I couldn’t even eat a second bite. Literally $ 10 wasted, and now I have heartburn and am going to have to spend $ 5 more for some tums. Final verdict — If you want German Food, go down the street a block to German Bistro — their food is banging! If you want to get drunk, this place is probably ok – their beer list is solid– and it will make the food taste good.

Love this place! Very authentic. All the meats and breads are prepared on site. If you order a liter of bier, you better have a driver. Great place for something different.

So new that Unilocal still calls the place The German Deli. The Jagerstuble Restaurant has been added to the original deli and is quite authentic. Hofbräu on tap with a variety of other bottled German beers and wines. German salads and hot red cabbage were special highlights. We had Jäger Schnitzel, weiner schnitzel and curry wurst along with the apple strudel/ice cream. Friendly waitress and fair prices complete the picture. We were impressed and have had several tours to Germany with the military.

This is a very nice quaintcplace. Maybe 10 tables! The dinning room is all light hard wood enhanced with the occasional coo coo clock going off. The service is very good and extremely friendly. The have a mix of bottle and draft beer. I tried the drafts with second asking the servers choice which was a crisp delicate beef. The entrée, as expected, was very filling. I had the meatloaf special with a deep Brown gravy, mashed potato, and mixed vegetable. Except for a little salt on vegetables it was exactly as I wanted. The starter was a goulash rich in beef and potatoes with a tomato base. Very well balanced. Give this place a try.

Small, nice German deli. Very good wurst and nice cold cuts. The breads are very good and a rare find in the area, but get there early they go fast. Nice small selectionmof hard tom find imported grocery items. Pricey compared to schoolers but much closer to my home. A few small café tables to eat in.
